Progress doesn't belong to one city.
Hot take for the day: Doomerism is complying in advance.
trans history is a beautiful thing. to know that, long before gender was even considered important, up until now when gender is considered the most important, we have taken our life into our own hands and shaped ourselves into what we know what we truly are. we have been forced to hide our true identities and so we have fought for our fellow brothers and sisters and anyone else that feels they were born in the wrong body. we have fought for years, decades, centuries, and we have had many casualties and many victories and we continue to have more casualties and many more victories. and we will never stop fighting to be who we know we are.
"As for the rest of you. I repent nothing. I do not believe I have committed an offence by my existence. I only wish I had lived it louder. That there might be some ineradicable record of it for those who come after me, who wish to know that they are not the first to strive. We have always existed. We will always exist. Whether people accept us or no, it makes no odds. It merely determines how much we are made to suffer" - Anastasius, Linck & Mülhahn
another week another reminder: hope is what saves us. and there is hope. it is in every person who knows the future can be bright, can be safe, can be better. hope is a powerful force and don’t you ever give that up.
Not only did my fried rice panel take off in a way I wasn't expecting but my POST about the fried rice panel also took off in a way I wasn't expecting please let me rest
The fact that at least six infants have died in Gaza due to the cold just in the past few days is the clearest example of Israel's calculated incremental genocide.
Israel has been blocking crucial aid (tents and mobile homes) from entering Gaza, knowing full well what the weather was going to be like and the obvious consequences. Similarly, the rise in the number of amputations of diabetic patients in Gaza precisely because they haven't had access to their treatments which Israel is blocking.
It's not always thousands of tons of bombs and many times it's actually not televised or circulated. But every action that Israel takes is knowingly done to be another instrument in their genocide against Palestinians. From making the land unliveable to making it impossible to stay alive.
Me and the rarepair I’ve been obsessed over. Wait- hear me out-
Adobe is going to spy on your projects. This is insane.
For general graphics: use GIMP For vector graphics: use Inkscape For drawing and illustration: use Krita For print and web publishing and design: use Penpot For PDF authoring: use LibreOffice For PDF reading and form filling: use Okular
All are free, open source and cross-platform. None use AI.

The cruelty of racist white men.
Does anyone else remember when Elon was like "if anyone knows how to end world hunger for 6 billion USD, I'll fund it" and UNICEF was like "we're going to spend a month to make a plan to end world hunger for 6 billion USD and Elon is going to fund it" and Elon was like "actually, nah" and then bought Twitter instead?
I think that was one of the worst things I'll ever see in my life.
I still think that should be the thing for which he's the most famous. It should be brought up every time he's mentioned. In any news article, any interview, any history book. "Elon Musk, who was offered a chance to end world hunger and turned it down." Put it on his fucking gravestone.
This happened in 2025.
His name is Chris Gatlin. He’s a Black man. AI has, for years, been worse at recognizing Black people. Black activists have been speaking up for years about how police use of AI will perpetuate racism in the justice system.
The victim repeatedly told the police that he was not a reliable witness due to sustaining a head injury from the assault. On top of this, police pressured the victim into identifying Gatlin as the suspect, even though he had already identified two other suspects. It took 17 months police to finally hand over the bodycam footage, which they conveniently forgot to say existed in the first place. The case was dismissed soon after.

Keep your messaging simple:
“Trump fired everyone in charge of airplane safety, and a week later planes started crashing into each other.”
That’s it. That’s the messaging. Don’t get bogged down disputing Trump’s false claims. Just blame him, in short and repeatable sentences.
Trump removed bird safety regulations in his first term and now bird flu is killing so many laying hens that eggs are $5 a carton
Trump removed food safety standards his first term and now we have recalls every few weeks
Trump cut the subsidies for the solar farms under construction so now electricity costs more
Trump disbanded the pandemic response team and we now we have bird flu and tuberculosis outbreaks
The State department has changed LGBTQ to LGB.
If you claim to care about trans people now is a good time to show genuine ally ship.
And I mean being an ACTUAL ally.
I don't mean sexualizing us or watching trans porn.
I don't mean treating trans mascs like "uwu soft baby boy" and trans femmes as "yass queen girl boss".
I don't mean expecting praise for using the right pronouns and using incorrect ones when "they're a bad trans person".
I mean ACTUAL SUPPORT.
Donate to trans shelters or organizations. DON'T out us to people we aren't out to. Go to protests if you're able, FIGHT ALONGSIDE US. Don't bring us around people you know are transphobic or dangerous, the list goes on. The LGBTQ community is ALL of us not just some of us.
Trans people who are documented as trans on government documents are currently not able to get passports - whether or not they accept their passport being issued as their birth sex, any indication that you're trans on a document that can be accessed by the government is being used as reason to deny a passport.
This is incredibly alarming. Even agreeing to be labeled as your birth sex is not sufficient. They want to deny trans people the ability to leave the country. Any possible reason for this is horrifying.
We need to rally now. Protect the entire community, do not allow them to throw any of us under the bus. None of us will be spared, they're just coming for the most vulnerable people first, and soon enough the most vulnerable people will be YOU.

PROTESTS ARE HAPPENING. THEY ARE JUST NOT BEING COVERED OUTSIDE OF LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS. DO NOT RELY ON MAINSTREAM MEDIA.
There was a huge Trans-rights demonstration last night in New York outside of NYU Langone hospital in protest of their decision to halt gender-affirming care under Trump's order. (Source)
