As much as this line has become this cutesy phrase that people like to use when talking about Hank and Connor’s relationship, I can’t help but think that it’s one of the most tragic things that Connor can say in the entire game. And that’s because we’ve just come from The Eden Club, which is full of androids who’s entire purpose is to become whatever their human companions want them to be.

Both Connor and the Tracis were created to be a human’s perfect partner. Their personal wants and needs don’t get taken into consideration when their programming forms their personalities. Their entire existences is based around filling the holes in a human’s life and the only difference between the two is that Connor’s ‘partnerships’ were intended to be platonic while the Tracis were to be used for romantic and sexual companionship. And I honestly think that it’s wildly out of character for Hank’s Relationship Stat to get a boost here considering how Echo and Ripple’s story is so moving that it becomes the foundation of his heel-face-turn toward becoming a deviant sympathizer.

There are so many parallels Connor and the Tracis that it’s obvious that they were created with each other in mind.
