Brian Froud was my second major influence as an artist, as I learned a lot about anatomy and form from copying his drawings and paintings. Because of this I wanted to capture some of that influence in an illustration based on the 1986 film, Labyrinth, in which Froud was the concept designer.

Via Flickr: Here's one from the vaults circa 2010. I never posted this because I think my intent was to finish/fix it, and we all know how that goes amirite? Moving forward into 2012 it's nice to look back at some of these "dead pieces." This was for a senior assignment to re-envision a video game. I chose an old PS2 RPG "Okage: Shadow King." Adobe Illustrator CS2, Photoshop CS4 and Painter 11.

I guess I still need to get harpoon reference. If I did this as a final the guy wouldn't be so close. The magic of digital illustration!
