Damn She Strong
A "Diet"
So skipping all processed foods is like hard. So what I am doing right now is just kind of eating healthily and in moderation. So I admit it. For the FIrst Time In My Life, I am on a diet. Isn't that what a "diet" is? Or at least what society says it is? I count my calories, keep a food diary, exercise, and say no a second donut hole.
I've never been on a "diet" before. I feel too young. For all of my life I thought "dieting" was for insecure women in their mid forties or felt as if their post birth bods just weren't appealing enough (shout out to you moms- any woman who has given birth is the most beautiful woman of all fyi. If anybody gives you shit about that post baby belly, you just let them know that you are recovering from the hardest workout ever- birth).
Anyway, I hate to admit it, but I guess I AM indeed on a "diet". But I don't think diet is the right term, after all a diet is defined as the way in which any person eats any day. Essentially, we all have a diet, it's just that we don't call it a diet until we are consciously watching our diet. Therefor, I am gonna call what I am doing a refresher.
I am going to refresh my body. No I am not going on a cleanse. No I am not purging my body of all toxins. No I am not skipping refined sugars. What I am doing, is giving my mind and body a REFRESHER on how I used to eat when my mother watched over everything that went in my mouth.
Back when I had to ask before eating, a whole lot less calories, fat, and sugar went into my little self. And I was completely fine with that. It made those two oreos on a sunday all the more worth it.
What I need is moderation. And that my friend, is the next task.
I Want Oreos- Day 1
So I decided that I would ease into this whole no processed food thing and so far so good. I am using a food diary called "MyFitness Pal" and I love how I can see the build up of not only my calorie consumption, but also of all my nutrients including carbs, protein, and dairy.
Today's processed foods that I ate:
wholegrain bread with nutella
1/4 hoagie roll with roast beef
1 oreo
also does corn bread count????j
I wish that I didn't have the oreo, but boy did I have a craving and I couldn't stop myself. Still, I really need to lose a few pounds so its good to see that I was able to stop at one. Those oreos are totally my weakness and my hope is to completley cut myself off from them by the end of the week.
I also went for a short run... a very short run. BUT HEY AT LEAST I EXCERCISED RIGHT?

Yet another Journey to a Healthier Me (but this time is different)
The Eve of the Idea.
Okay. Tomorrow is the day.
These are five words I have said many many times before in anticipation of finally moving towards a processed food-free diet. Of course, this time is different. This time I WILL be successful.
Again, these are 12 words I have said at least 10 times before. So how do I get out of my rut? How do I truly move towards the clean eating lifestyle I truly desire? I think I'm gonna blog about it...
You see, I feel like the more I talk out my failures, the more I will be determined to overcome them. I'm not gonna give up everytime I fail, but rather write it down for the world (or my zero followers) to see. AND THEN and Only Then, will I move forward and TRY AGAIN.
I think to kick things off for my mighty journey, I am going to answer a few questions about what's ahead of me.
What?
I am going to stick to a regimen which will prohibit me from eating most processed foods. In the beginning I will allow myself processed foods, but eat less and less of these until I ultimately have a clean diet. In addition, I am going to work on my running like a bitch. I wanna be fast and strong.
WHy?
Like I said before, I want to be fast and strong. I hated not looking like a strong reliable player to my coach this year in LAX. Next season, I want to blow her mind... and I want to blow the minds of my team mates, and my friends, and my family, and cute boys, and myself.
When?
Start- tomorrow end-never (well this blog will end for sure, but my healthy lifestyle will hopefully be upheld till the day I die at 104)
