Killua truly is the character of all time. He spend millions on chocolate. He is immune to poison. The front gate of his house is a tourist spot . He is an overthinker prone to anxiety. He has a kill count high enough to call a mass murder an 'amateur'. He has infinite money. He has no goals. He likes gambling and is a great liar. When he walks, he makes no sound. He cried in secret about the possibility of losing his best friend at least three times. He fights barehands and when he couldn't use his hands he casually revealed he has two 50kg yo-yo in his pockets. His abusive family used life long gaslighting and magical mind manipulation to convince him that he would kill his best friend and he proceeded to fall in love with said friend and break out of his family influence from sheer devotion. He needs to electrocute himself to power up. He loves his op ostricized trans little sister. He changes clothes all the time. He is extremelly powerful and smart and he knows it. He is a sore loser. If he has no use to his loved ones he feels worthless. He is a middle child. He loves so deeply it hurts him. He is soooo rude. He is so sweet. He sees himself as an equal to his bestie while simultaneusly worshiping him. He nearly dies in a dart game. He is 12 years old.

my actual favorite scene in wake up dead man is the one where jud is on the phone with the woman from the construction company and she asks him to pray for her, the sudden turn from humor to complete seriousness without it feeling like a tonal whiplash is really really good

the funniest thing about Curtain Call is that most of the characters have no/very little context for Vox's obsession. all they know is that he apparently thinks that getting Alastor to stop smiling is worth blowing himself and everyone else up

Some more thoughts on Alastor’s name.

Firstly, Alastor is a pretty meaningful name. Avenger of evil deeds but, more significantly, evil spirts in Christian demonology. Seems like the type of edgy sort of name he might pick out for himself when he came to Hell. Dude made a deal so he could “continue his fun” this was def the sort of mindset he was going into He’ll with.

Secondly, Alastor is not even slightly a common name for a Creole kid in New Orleans in the early 1900s. A few similar names though, like Alfred and Albert, were though. Might play into Vox’s tendency to call him Al.

Thirdly, we don’t know why Sinners hide their names so frequently. We only find them out in very select moments like with Angel’s contract and when Alastor calls Vox “Vincent.” There might be a lore reason we don’t know yet regarding why aliases are so important in Hell.
