Hello guys!

I have a lot of CC that are almost finished (and by "almost," I mean there are still a few bugs I haven't figured out how to fix yet). Once I have a bit more time, I'll try to focus on fixing them and hopefully get some releases out!

i don’t do hair but i had to edit this hair from horse ranch with a bigger bandana (look who’s meshing) and placing it a bit higher up on the head. yes i am avoiding posing/writing if i’m churning out cc on a weekly basis now. no i will not answer any more questions. now, on to the script!

it would not be an xldkx release if there wasn’t an issue HOWEVER there’s a TINY bit of clipping over the ear. i didn’t want to cover the ear entirely because that’s not realistic and i honestly don’t know how to force the small ears for this. if you do, let me know and i’ll fix it. but for now, enjoy!

The Sims 4 Mod: Spawn Refresh

This mod completely overhauls how venue spawning works in The Sims 4, allowing for fully-staffed, multi-purpose lots!

How it works

With Spawn Refresh, most spawns are no longer tied to the lot type, but are instead based on the objects on the lot. Not only will all bars, stalls, etc. be fully staffed, but the objects also impact the types of visitors that spawn and how many. For example, a lot with gym equipment will attract Sims who like to workout, and a lot with many barstools and a few (but not many) bookshelves will attract a lot of barflies, but only a few readers.

Both staff and visitors will spawn on the following lot types:

Arts Center

Bar

Beach

Cafe

Gym

Karaoke Bar

Library

Lounge

Museum

Nightclub

Onsen Bathhouse

Park

Pool

Spa

Retail (not owned by the active household)

Resaurant (not owned by the active household)

Thrift and Bubble Tea Store

Additionally, the following lot types will spawn extra staff, but the visitors will stay the same:

Foxbury Commons

Recreation Center

UBrite Commons

New Lot Type: Rental (Shared)

Spawn Refresh also adds a new lot type to the game called Rental (Shared). This is a Rental lot that spawns Sims like a public venue. It can be used to simulate hotels and other accomodations for storytelling.

You will need a venue mod like Venue Changes for this to be available in Build Mode.

Limitations/where lot type still matters

Although this mod blurs the importance of lot types, they still matter in some cases.

Bowling events and spa classes are only available on venues they were available on previously. This may change in the future, but wasn't a focus for the first version.

You cannot combine multiple types of businesses. Although the mod will spawn Sims on businesses not owned by the active household, the "main" type still has to be set to the business type.

Events like bar nights and karaoke contests are still limited by venue type.

To prevent bar nights from breaking, barflies in Bar venues will spawn the same way they would without the mod.

Parks are the only lot type that will spawn bench sleepers.

Beaches and pools are the only lot types that will spawn swimmers, and will do so using the same logic it would without the mod. This doesn't mean Sims on other lots can't swim, it just means they won't spawn Sims specifically for that purpose.

For roles that have variants that normally spawn on multiple venues (for example: bartenders and barflies can normally spawn on Bars, Lounges, Nightclubs and Karaoke Bars), the mod will use the same variant as in the vanilla game, although it can still spawn multiple of them.

Only Museums and Arts Centers spawn visitors specifically to view art, since you probably don't want a bunch of random Sims showing up just to look at decorations on other lots.

Conflicts

This mod will conflict with any mod that modifies the "Zone Director" files for venue spawns. It should work fine with mods that limit Sims to their home world, since those don't edit the Zone Directors.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply—I didn’t realize I had a message. Thank you so much!

Did you mean script mods, furniture, or clothes? I can share the names of some script mods I use in my 70s world.

For the phone, I use a brick phone from Sim File Share - Filehosting for Simmers (It replaces the default mobile phone skin. It’s more like an 80s phone, but since mobile phones didn’t really exist in the 70s, it still looks way better than a modern smartphone.)

I also use this mod so they use their phones less: No Constant Phone | Patreon

This one is a must-have in every kitchen:Functional Wall Phone | Patreon You can also add some of these phones from aroundthesims4.comobjects they really give off a 70s vibe.

Another great mod is Sunrise | Lot 51 • Mods and CC for The Sims 4 It brings back some realism and reintroduces features that were removed in previous Sims versions. You can also find it at aroundthesims4.comobjects

Since home computers were rare and expensive in the 70s, I recommend checking out the computer options on aroundthesims4.comobjects some of them work as computers while still fitting the era. If you're playing with a wealthy household, this mod might work: Mod The Sims - Computer "Karkulator-80"

The first movie rental shop appeared in 1977, so I use this mod to kinda recreate that: FlicBuster | Lot 51 • Mods and CC for The Sims 4 You can find Blockbuster builds in the Gallery—just place the machine inside and it should look pretty good. I also put this in my Sims’ homes: MintyJinx : (Retro & Vintage) VCR/VHS Set I might release a more 70s-looking VCR soon too!

If you want a more authentic 70s gameplay experience, you could also use a smoking mod or Basemental Drugs—but that’s totally optional, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re a minor.

Even without the smoking mod, I like to place a few ashtrays around: Ashtray with Animated Smoke | Patreon. A lot of people still smoked in the 70s—even though the percentage of smokers started to drop, it was still common to see people smoking almost anywhere. Again, this is just for realism (and smoking is bad, obviously!).

If you meant 70s furniture or clothing, just let me know—I can recommend some great creators. And if you’re looking for builds, I’ve made a few (with mods).

click on a bed to see the interaction that lets your sim pick a book from their inventory and read it in bed.

child to elder

on a single bed, sims (teen to elder) will see two options: 1. read in bed (with covers) 2. read in bed (without covers) child sims will only get the "read in bed (with covers)" interaction.

double bed

teen to elder

on a double bed, sims will see one interaction: "read in bed" the animation depends on which side of the bed you click:

left side → with covers

right side → without covers

i added a tooltip in-game to make it easier.

the pose for "read in bed (with covers)" is the same for all sims.

the pose for "read in bed (without covers)" is different for masculine and feminine frames.

benefits:

increases fun need.

skill books will boost the related skill. any level book can be read in bed and still grant skill gain.

if your sim has a "finish a book" want or aspiration goal, this interaction will fulfill it.

children gain creativity when reading fiction books. when reading skill books, they build mental skill — and if the book teaches a skill children can learn, that skill will increase too.

a moodlet will appear while reading in bed:

sims enrolled in university can also read textbooks in bed — they'll get a notification confirming their academic progress is improving:

known issues:

1. please let the sim finish reading before saving or entering cas. otherwise, when you load the game again, they may level up every skill at once, which causes a bunch of notifications :) it's not game-breaking, but a little messy. 2. the animation looks better with thicker books. 3. emotional books won’t give your sims a specific emotion.

this mod took me over half a year to figure out, and i'm so happy to finally share it. hope you enjoy!

Simvanced Degrees: A Graduate School Mod

Synopsis: So, I created a mod that kinda lets your Sim go to grad school. (Just in case Discover University didn’t stress them out enough) I always wanted a mod that allows Sims to do something postgrad. This mod allows your Sim to go to graduate school (kind of at least). Basically, your Sims will go back to "college" for a Simvanced Degree. Read more HERE.
