The couple of months that I spent transitioning while still in the closet were some of the hardest of my life. Having little things I could do to help myself feel cute got me through the day, and reminded me of the exciting new life I was exploring at home. Unfortunately, every change provoked an avalanche of unsolicited comments - everyone kept asking “why this why that”. When I eventually came out, everyone kinda went “ohhhhh”.

Well kids. Erica is here to stay!

I finally went to work last night as my tru authentic self. And I got such support and compliments from almost everyone I work with, new and old friends alike. So it was awesome to just be able to finally be a total complete package me!

And I’ll say I’m a realist as I have always posted. I understand female pronouns and my name is a learning curve, especially for those that THINK they knew Eric for over a decade. And for most it was easy for them. But for some they are fixed on my biological marker or what’s in my pants. And I feel those people are just jealous or feel threatened. They are trying to bring others to their level. To bad for them.

This is my journey and I am owning it! I know I am a woman. I know I look like a woman. I know I have rocking curves like a woman! I know my mind is that of a woman. And you know what…I know I killed it last night on my work debut as Erica!
