Pascal doesn't seem to know how Vidcund feels...
No one in the Curious family is exempt from having a complicated relationship, but this time I want to talk about Pascal and Vidcund whose relationship, in my opinion, is the most complex among the siblings. I don't think they don't get along, but they both seem to have different views on their relationship.
There's Pascal, who is the most distant sibling as if he grew up apart. He's older than Vidcund and Lazlo and noticeably younger than Jenny, so in a way, it might be true. Also, the fact that Glarn projected onto him and pressured him to focus on his studies didn't help his emotional development, making it difficult for him to form relationships. Even so, Pascal had the chance to get closer to his brothers likely after Jenny left and Kitty passed away, now assuming the older brother role, this helped them to get closer but it wasn't enough. Despite knowing his siblings' quirks, he still feels alienated (lol). Pascal longs for a genuine connection, but he doesn't seem to know where to begin as he's also so serious in a way that can be perceived as unfriendly.
Vidcund seems to have been affected by the unequal treatment Glarn gave his children, he was the one he neglected the most out of the three. He grew up with resentment, particularly towards his older brother, dad's favorite. I don't think he hates Pascal, but he seems to have mixed-feelings and envies him. He's a tsundere, he respects and still cares for Pascal but he's always trying to outdo him in everything he does, engaging in a one-sided, mental competition.
Putting that aside, all of the Curious siblings have a lot in common and are weirdos in their own way, so it's no surprise they might get along again. With that in mind, I find it funny to imagine Pascal's first attempts to get closer to Vidcund and how Vidcund due to his paranoia misinterprets his actions and takes it personally.
Although Vidcund finds it hard to connect emotionally with Pascal as easily as he does with Lazlo, he's still his older brother and respects him as such. This is clearly seen here, where Pascal gets angry with him and Vidcund, instead of reacting as he usually does, is simply taken aback. (I know it's because Vidcund is a shy sim but he's also grumpy, which is why he tends to react more strongly to aggression. However, he didn't feel like fighting with Pascal. I like his reactions are selective and has his exceptions just like this one...)
