Have a bit of an art dump now that I’m back on tumblr.

I’ve been pretty busy, got a job doing art for an indie comic. I’ll be updating what I can, but as it’s a contract I can’t show things that are for the comics, just my warm ups and other work.

Been sick the last few months, I’m getting better now thanks to vitamins and doctors. I was actually able to concentrate enough to work on something.

“Why doesn’t Kup from Transformers have a holomatter?” I whisper, as I spend far too much time beginning to paint one.

On a comic artist and writer group I visit someone posed this question:

“My intention to to open up serious dialogue. Not start an argument...

Lately, in talking with certain people in certain groups, there are varying philosophies and opinion but, one thing seemingly remains constant.

Why do artists have such disregard (and disrespect) for writers?”

And of course this kind of thing drives me up the wall.

So here’s my answer:

A writer can write a book in a week, they can in theory have 4 artists and 4 projects, an artist only gets one writer for a whole months work. Imagine it as a romantic relationship for a moment, a writer gets 4 girlfriends and is they wanna keep them they better treat them right. The reason artists don't respect writers at times is cause some writers don't respect artists or the fact we get one month and one person to collab with so it better be a relationship that works or it's not worth doing. I've been approached by a few writers and had to end it, some weren't writing on par (to many panels for the page, not pacing correctly), some writers assumed anyone could be a comic writer and had grand ideas but never handed over a script and some just didn't communicate well (calling for main character re-designs 1/2 through a book because they wanted to clarify. I drop these writers because I only get one and I simply do not have time for someone who puts in 1/4 the time and expects 1/2 the profits and 100% creative control. It's not a matter of not respecting a writer, but of them not respecting me.

1. What’s the difference between a personal and commercial commission aside from size?

A personal commission will come with an agreement that allows me to republish the work to my websites and in the case of fan art from pre-established fandoms it allows the print rights to stay with me. A Commercial commission allows for no republishing by me for anything other than promoting myself, unless discussed before hand.

2. How do I pay?

I accept paypal and will send you an invoice for the art you order.

3. Do you do character turn arounds, character design, traditional medium ext.?

I do! Due to the level of input needed if you want one of these then please contact me directly for pricing.

4. What won’t you draw?

I’m open to most things, please contact me if you have something specific to ask about.
