Cannons in my writing and things to know:
Below is some of the things i tend to keep cannon in my writing but these can differ depending on the readers house and storyline (mostly for hp fics):
If the reader is Hufflepuff they are always friends with Jess McConnell and Cedric Diggory (Golden Era), or Amos Diggory and Alex McConnell (Marauder Era)
If the reader is Slytherin they will usually be friends with Timothy Greengrass and Joey Taggart (Golden Era), or Regulus, Barty, Evan and Pandora (Marauder Era)
I wonât write Marlene, Angelina, Pansy or Astoria as villians, they may be in the story but I refuse make them toxic for the sake of it
Cedric wonât be used as a way of making people jealous, I see that used alot plus I really like Cho and Cedric so i prefer to write him as a good friend/brother figure
Neville and Luna are always sweeties
Marlene and Dorca are always iconic queens
In non-voldy universes Peter is the cutest and sweetest marauder (aka the loveable weirdo)
When the reader isn't paired with them the following ships are cannon: wolfstar, dorlene, jilly or jegulus/marylily, hinny, romione
If you donât like đłïžâđ relationships then this isnât the page for you
My friend wrote an instrumental song about a frog and asked me to draw a little something to go along with it! Eeee I'm so proud it's so wholesome looking âĄ

âMotherfuâŠâ you yelp, sucking a breath as you curseÂ
Remus looks up âYou good love?â he asks casually at first but then winces at the sound of your groans, watching as you gently fall back onto the cold ground, clutching your ankle âOne minute loveâŠold wolf needs a secondâ he jests, shifting his weight as he pulls himself up
It takes him longer than he would like to get to you, his knees where achy at the best of times, but combine that with the early year chill and it turned him into even more of an old man than he felt already
When he finally does get there, he bends down at the hip, hand moving some of your hair back before he cups your cheek âGot yourself good this time huh?â he coos
Your eyes find his, a sad pout on your face as you feel sorry for yourself âYeahâ you nod with a slight chuckle before your head falls back down
Remusâ eyes follow yours, finding you rubbing your ankle through your socksâŠwell they were actually his socks, and if you werenât in pain he would tease you as he had been looking for said socks all morning
So much for not knowing where they are little minx
He kneels down then, hands falling to the site of your injury âWhat happened?â he inquires, holding back his smile as your lean into his touch, giving him the softest, sweetest headbutt to his shoulder
âLost a fight with a shovelâ you explain, hands wrapping around his own as you let out a prolonged breath âYou can laugh now, the pains stoppedâ you tell him, eyes flicking up to meet his own
With that Remus letâs himself break, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. You had always been this clumsy, in fact thatâs how you and he first met, infirmary buddies so to speak, him with his chronic wolfy transformations and you with some random yet slightly hilarious new injury.
âWhy donât you help me with these, the grounds still a bit firm for building a new bed anywayâ he tells you, but not before kissing the tips of his fingers not engulf by gloves and placing it on your ankle âBetter?â
âLike newâ you grin up at him
As he stands upright, he finds you smiling at him, head tilted, the little bobble of your hat cutely hanging to one side, one of his winter jackets wrapped around you, along with two very different and not at all matching scarfs that somehow you pull off
âWhat are you staring at?â he eyes you
âI canât admire?â you defend, shrugging as slowly pull yourself up
Remus turns his head a little, smiling as the cold hides his tinting cheeks. After all these years a bit of him is still in disbelief, how did someone like him get so lucky?
âYou can but I donât think weâll finish today if you doâ he tells you once you have dusted yourself off, facing him once more âAre you going to be good pretty girl?â he raises his eyebrows
You smile coyly, yet Remus sees the shyness you try oh so hard to hide under his own gaze âNeverâ you challenge, before stepping past him, taking his hand and leading him back towards the flower bed he was working on before
After a bit of work Remusâ movements come to a halt as he looks over to find you towelling away, you donât notice his stare as you take a break yourself, gazing out over the field beyond the borders of yours and his cottage as the sun breaks free from the clouds. That smile he fell in love with painted on your face as your eyes flutter shut, a content sigh leaving your lips as you soak up the rays
She is so beautiful
Itâs then a wave of nostalgia washes over him, maybe itâs the view, or the way the sun hits yours face just as the stars and moon did back then, but he canât help recalling the night he would live again and again foreverâŠ
Start of flashback
âCome on Rem!â you say childishly, pulling Remus through the overgrowth, wand lighting the way
He huffs in faux annoyance, he had no idea why you felt the need to drag him through the enchanted forest at this hour, nor how you could have this much energy after a full day of classes and prefect rounds, but he really didnât mind, not when it meant he got to spend more time with you
âSoâŠâ he leans to the side as you ascend a gentle incline, attempting to catch glimpse of your face ââŠwhy am I being gifted with a hike at 2am on a Tuesday?â he wonders, attempting to supress his smile as he can just about make out your excited one âNot that Iâm not grateful for the exerciseâŠor the coldâŠor the mudâ he complains just a little
âBecause mr grumps, youâre my friend and there is something I want to show youâ you turn back flashing him an even bigger smile than youâre resting one âBesides you were awake anywayâ you needlessly defend your impromptu trip further as you turn back
His heart both warms and aches at friend, since he met you, he knew a part of him wanted something more, but the other part knew it was for the best, even after you figured out his condition, you deserved someone better. Besides, as much as you and he broke the Gryffindor and Slytherin stereotype, him being in your own words âmr grumpsâ and you in his words being little âmiss sunshineâ, the rest of the school wouldnât be as happyâŠlet alone his friends
He lets out a small chuckle âThen as my friend you should know that I was in the middle of my routineâŠI still had a good hour of self-doubt and deprecation to get in before my four hoursâ he jokes, though itâs not really oneâŠin fact if heâs perfectly honest itâs more like three some nights
âWell instead of that totally heathy routineâ you nip back, and he rolls his eyes with the slightest smirk on his face âYou get to spend it with me and see something wonderful!â
You sounded so excited. That light in your eyes that made even Remusâ darkest daysâ worth living through was shining as bright as ever, and he couldnât help but get excited too
âOkayâŠâ you stop just a willow tree, similar to the one he was all too familiar with but far less magicalâŠand bigâŠand deadly ââŠyou ready?â you turn towards him, struggling to contain yourself
He nods, eyeing you as you put away your wand, engulfing you both in darkness âWhaâŠâ he starts but then his eyes adjust, and he notices the unworldly glow from the other side of the hanging vinesÂ
âIâll go first, then you follow, okay?â you tell him, and he finds himself nodding wordlessly
Remus watches you slide through the vines, the soft embers of light worming through before they settle once more. He takes a small breath before he follows, pushing his hand through first to create a path for himself, itâs a little thicker than he thought it would be but soon he finds the other side, breath hitching as he takes in the view
Before him was a hidden garden, a small clearing within the forest filled with flowers, their petals shimmering beneath the star light. The area was surrounded by more willows, but inside the garden their hanging leaves bloomed with glowing berries emitting a warm orange hue. As he steps deeper, he finds the left side of the field stops abruptly, revealing a cliffside to the coastline of black lake
âWowâ he breathes out, a genuine smile gracing his face for the first time in months
You were right earlier, though he dares say you undersold just how wonderful your surprise was, and he almost doesnât feel worthy of it, in fact, he knows heâs unworthy of it
âYou like it?âÂ
His head softly turns towards your voice, finding you, hands clasped around the strap of your bag, lip pulled under your teeth as you await his answer, itâs then he realises why you went first, you wanted to see his reaction
âLike it?â he chuckles slightly âI love itâ he confesses, unable to hold up his barriers at your hopeful eyes, even more at your proud little smile at his confession
âThe view from the cliff is even betterâ you hold out hand
He takes it, but just as he is about to step into the moonlight, he stops, causing you to turn back and ask if heâs alright, but your words are lost on him as he pears up, catching glimpse of the waning moon
âIâm sorryâ his eyes finally find you again and his heart breaks at your concern, cheeks flooding with embarrassment over how heâs going to ruin a perfect night with his fears âIâm good here, Iâm sure itâs lovely butâŠâ he takes a breath, unable to get out the rest
âBut?â you wonder sweetly, taking a step towards him âItâs a beautiful night, I donât want you to mess the best partâŠohâ youâre eyes light up and he worries youâve figured it out âAre you scared of heights? I can shift and you can hold me to calm you down if that would help?â you offer, and it kills him
You were too sweet for your own good, not only had you chosen him to show this wonderful place, but you were willing to accommodate his fears without judgement. The mention of your animagus made his heart hurt more, you really had done everything to help him, and maybe it was that that allowed him to confess the real reason
His hand cups over yours, thumb stealing circles over your knuckles âLoveâŠâ he finds your eyes ââŠIâmâŠIâm not afraid of heights I justâŠitâs a clear night and wellâŠâ he looks down, swallowing hard ââŠthe moon is outâ he whispers and heâs too ashamed to look back up, instead he savours your hand in his scarred ones and the way they engulf your own
âRemâ your voice is so soft he could cry, he doesnât want to be pitied, so much he finches as your other hand finds his cheek, encouraging him to look at you, but when he doesnât, you continue âIf you want to leave we can, or we can sit at the edge at the treesâ you tell him sweetly âYou arenât going to shift hereâ you continue before a giggle escapes your lips as you add âbesidesâŠif you did Iâd just push you offâ
His head snaps up at that, staring at your cheeky grin in disbelief, processing before letting out scoff of a laugh âI canât believe you just said thatâ he shakes his head, beginning to chuckle properlyÂ
âIt made you laugh thoughâ you smile at him, and he finds himself relishing the closeness, the softness of your fingers on his rougher cheek and hands
âThat you didâ he agrees, hoping you donât notice him leaning ever so slightly into your touch
He hides his disappointment however as your kind touch leaves his cheek, but his disappointment doesnât last long as you take his other hand in your own, guiding him âIâll be right hereâ you assure him, your movements gentle as you take a step back, letting him know he can leave if thatâs what he truly wanted
Remus wonât lie, heâs still nervous but the safety he feels around you is stronger than his fear, and he lets you lead him towards the cliffside
Looking out over the night sky his eyes soon lock on to the moon, but as they do he feels your hand squeeze his âYouâre okayâ you tell him, and he actually believes it âYouâre more than that big hunk of rockâŠcome on letâs sitâ you softly pull him as you lower yourself to the ground, and as you do, Remus waits until the very last second to let go of your hand
âThank youâ he finally says after you both are comfortable âWhat would I do without you?â he doesnât ever want to know the answer, so heâs glad you answer when it with a joke
âWallow in self-pity?â you jest âMaybe die of a heart attack with how much chocolate you consume?â you laugh
Despite his own chuckles he playfully nudges you âFunny bunnyâ he shakes his head, returning his gaze to the limitless expanse of stars, then down towards the shoreline, enjoying the simple beauty of waves washing across sand
âCan you see them?â you ask after a moment
His eyebrows furrow, looking at you then more intently at the beach âSee what?â he wonders, confused
Just as heâs about to turn back towards you he feels you shuffle closer to him, pointing âLook closely at the wet sand, just before the waves come inâŠdo you see it?â you ask, your head practically on his shoulder by this point
Remusâ confusion melts into intrigue as he watches the area you point out, eyes widening when he finally sees it, the slight indentations across the beach, not unlike the kind he and his friends make when they use Jamesâ cloak in snow, yet these tracks much more resembled an animal
âWhat are they?â he turns to you, desperately holding back his blush at how close your face is to his
Merlin, he felt like a lovesick puppy, until now he had been able to keep his growing feelings at bay but now even your crossed leg gentle tapping against his own was enough to send his heart into a tizzy
You donât seem fazed however as you just smile âThestralsâ you say simply âThe magical creatures that pull the carriagesâ you add to jog his memory
âReallyâ he looks to the beach âThatâs amazingâ he says, smiling as he spots a smaller set following larger set before he recalls one particular fact about the invisible creatures âYou can see them?â his heart drops a littleâŠmore so at your confirmation
âYesâ but your expression doesnât change âYouâre allowed to askâ you grant him a soft smile
He takes a moment after that though, despite your permission he still feels like heâs invading your privacy by asking âWho?âÂ
You look away then, off towards the shore âA few years ago, my father was sick. Heâs alright now, but there was a time my mother and I practically lived in the hospitalâ you start and while you speak your eyes track something on the shore, he assumes a thestral but doesnât tear his eyes away to check âThere was a kind lady in the room next door, Dorothy. She used to share the sweet treats her sons would bring her with meâŠshe was a muggleborn you see, I lied to my mother about that part thoughâ you chuckle softly âShe taught me how to knit properly, with needles and not magicâŠif Iâm being honest I think sheâs one of the main reasons I stopped believing in all that crapâ you confess, your voice wavering a little as you look down at the ground
Remusâ eyes widen, sure, he hadnât really spoken to you until the end of fifth year, but given your soft nature he never would have thought for a minute you could have ever believed in such thingsâŠyou were too good for that
âDo you think less of me?â you reply to his silence, shame in your tone as you chew on your lip, pulling at blades of grass
As your eyes flick up meet his he shakes his head âNoâŠif anything I think more of youâ he gifts you a soft smile before reaching out to save the poor meadow from your anxiety riddled trimming, hand lingering on yours for a moment before he pulls back âIt takes a strong person to admit something like thatâ
âI donât know about strongâŠcouldnât save that bookcase last weekâ you giggle breathlessly, but behind it thereâs a flash of something that shows your appreciation to his sentiment, much like Remus you also struggled to accept compliments or credit where itâs dueâŠyou were just maybe a little less grumpy about it
âYou tried your bestâ he tells you with a chuckleâŠrecalling how utterly bewildered you looked amidst the chaos of the chain reaction you had created while attempting to get one book before his expression drops once more âDo you want to continue? Iâd like to hear moreâ he steers the conversation back gently and you seem thankful for it
âWhile my father was getting better, she wasnâtâ you resume, voice dipping âEventually she got so weak I had to finish the blanket she was making for the grandchild she never got the honour of meetingâŠâ you sigh while you play with your fingerless gloves ââŠshe made me these you know?â you look back up, lifting you hand slightly to show off them off
âIâm jealousâ Remus holds up his own, showcasing his more than beaten gloves, hells they were practically falling apart
You giggle softly âIâll make you someâ itâs not an offer but a statement, one Remus has no intention of fighting, who was he to deny a gift from yourself âAny particular colour you would like?â you add
He thinks about it before his eyes fall on your gloves, their colour similar to the evergreen of the willows around you âWould you be mad if they matched yoursâ he asks cautiously, afraid of over steppingÂ
But your smile confirms he isnât, if anything, he swears you shy away just a little at it, almost as if youâre flustered at the thought
âNot at allâ you reply, voice softer than itâs ever been âI think she would have liked you. She certainly would have knitted you a matching jumperâÂ
âMaybe you could knit me one insteadâ he says before his brain can even process the words
That was way tooâŠ
âSure!â you reply right away, elated at the idea âYour birthdays in March, right? The 10th?â you confirm, and Remus can only nod in return âIâll surprise you with the colour for that oneâ you tell him
Remusâ lips quirk up, excitement bubbling in his stomach for next month before it softly subsides as he realises, he needs to know the end of Dortheyâs story, even if that means the loss of your happy smile for a short while
âHow did it happen?â he doesnât need to give you context, you know what heâs asking
âShe seemed better one morning, she even got out of bed. In factâŠit was the day she made me theseâ you gesture to the gloves once more and you smile at the memory, though itâs more of a bittersweet kind of smile âButâŠthat evening she took a turn, nothing dramatic, she was just tired, coldâŠthe medication had her talking to the airâ you explain, waving âI like to think she was talking to her husband, like he was he one to grant her passage when she moved on, that they were together againâŠshe was a bit of a romantic you seeâŠso am Iâ you confess, and Remus takes note of it âEventually she seemed aware of my presence and took my hand, then she smiled and fell asleepâŠshe passed moments laterâŠand thatâs how I can see themâ you nod to the beach
Remus remains silent for a moment, before reaching out and giving your shoulder a small squeeze âShe sounds like a remarkable womanâÂ
âShe wasâ you nod, smile playing on your lips before you turn your body towards him âIâm glad I got to tell you about her, but there was one other reason I brought you hereâ
âYeah?â Remusâ eyes light up a little
âMhmâŠthe day after the last full moonâŠâ you start and Remusâ eyebrows knit, unsure of where youâre going with this ââŠyou confessed that when you seen me in there it made you worry that you had hurt me that nightâ
âIâmâŠughâ
Remus lets out a shaky breath, he had been a bit harsh at first that morning, he told you that his friends put themselves in harms way enough and he didnât need a klutz joining them. As soon as it left his lips, he regretted it, he had called you it before, but this time he had negative intent and he could tell it hurt you
âLoveâŠI neverâŠâ
âRemâŠI forgive youâ you gently cut him off and it surprises him âRemus that morning you also told me that you worry one day that something much worse than a fractured wrist might happen, that you would do something magic couldnât fixâ you recount before gesturing to the shoreline âI thought maybe you could use this place whenever you felt that way⊠I found this place shortly after I was able to see them. Followed them here one night when I couldnât sleep. It helps you know, to get awayâ you say forlornly
Later Remus would realise the thing you ran from was expectation, but tonight he nods slowly
âDo you really believe that?â he asks, voice mixed with hope and scepticism âThat it could help?â
âI doâ you confirm âI thought maybe it can help you shoo away those clouds that neither your friends norâŠIâŠcanâtâ you say, but the last part is said slower, followed with a shy laugh, like youâre worried youâre implying you play a bigger part in his life than you actually do, and to that his hands reach out squeezing your own, hoping itâs enough to communicate that you are just as important as his friends, in fact you may be even more so one dayâŠor perhaps tonight
Tears prick Remusâ eyes, threatening to spill as speaks again âIâŠI donât know what else to say other thanâŠthank youâŠfor thisâŠfor everythingâ he nods his head around, trying his best to convey the deeps of his appreciationÂ
âYou donât have to say anything more than thatâ you assure him, letting him know you understand before flashing that smile of yours âJust enjoy the eveningâ you softly command
And he did, allowing silence to fall between you. For the first time in, well ever, Remus felt what most people must know as peace, allowing his mind to finally stop turning if just for a moment, letting him focus on other things rather that his own voice. The gentle rustle of leaves, soft hum of fireflies, the rocking waves upon the shoreâŠyour soft breaths, your steady heartbeat
He never wanted this moment to end
He lets himself look at you then, finding you smiling to yourself, eyes closed as you take in the moment
She is beautiful
He never takes his eyes off of you, a part of him hopes you catch him, hopes that this night is something more to you as it is to him, but the other knows when you look back, heâll cower away like he always did. Remus knew he was selfish with you, his eyes lingered that little bit longer that they should, as did his touch, he always waited for either the last moment or for you to pull backâŠsecretly hoping one day you wouldnât
Your eyes open then, turning towards him âWhat?â you smile softly, head tilted
Remus shakes his head quickly âNothing, thought there was a flyâ he plays it off, returning to the view while quietly chastising himself in his head for the terrible lie
Coward
âRemusâŠâ he flinches a little as your hand finds his ââŠlook at me againâ
He hesitates at first, but then you whisper the softest âpleaseâ and heâs at your mercy, returning your gaze, eyes curious with a dash of hope or fear mixed in, he didnât quite know which yet.Â
You move to your knees and he finds himself doing the same to face you properly as your touch flows upwards, backs of your fingers grazing his cheek as you push some hair out of the way, your eyes darting between his own like youâre checking heâs comfortable with the new form of intimacy
âYouâre the prettiest thing here you knowâ you say before your eyes flick down to hisâŠlips?Â
Your hands are soft, sure as they cup his face, fingers tracing the line of his jaw ever so slightly as you test the waters further, sending shivers down his spine, heart pounding beforeâŠ
âRemus can I kiss you?â
âŠit damn near stops
He genuinely didnât know if this was reality anymoreÂ
âYouâŠâ he lets out a shaky breath ââŠwant to kiss me?â he swallows
His fingers itch with the urge to pull you closer, to feel certainty in your presence, your warmth, but he restrains himself, afraid of shattering the illusion
You nod, eyes never leaving his âVery muchâ you confirm âI have for a whileâ you confess and for the first time he notices the slight shake in your fingers, the glistening in your eyes, that not so tiny fear that you were hiding so well seeps throughâŠthe one where he rejects youÂ
But he would never
âCan I?â you ask one last time, voice barely a whisper
He doesnât speak just gives you a hum that you hope can recognise as a yes, which you do, eyes widening a little in surprise before you lick your lips, slowly leaning in. As happy as Remus was, he doesnât move, still scared this might not be real, that any movement will have him wake up in his dorm and that all this was just a cruel trick of his psyche. That is until your nose softly taps his own, before the plush of your lips find his. Itâs tender, sweet, only lasting for a few fleeting moments before you pull away
As you do, he finally breaks free of his paralysis, chasing your lips a little before he watches your eyes flutter open, finding your smile is shy all of a sudden, like you used every ounce of your confidence to work up the courage to not only ask but kiss him and now it was all gone
Kiss her back you idiot!
Remusâ(...or maybe Moonyâs)Â thoughts drive him into action, leaning forward to cup your cheek before you can fully withdraw, admiring the way you head falls into it with such ease as he brings his lips close to yours, checking itâs something you want before he finally returns the kiss
Itâs more passionate this time, lips moving in sync as his arms wrap around you, gently lifting and bringing you flush against him, while your hands snake around his neck and up into his hair. The warmth of your body seeps into his, and for a moment, the world outside ceases to exist, itâs just you, him, and this garden.Â
When he finally pulls back, youâre the one chasing him this time, sneaking one last kiss before your forehead rests on his âDid that actually just happenâ he whispers panting gentlyÂ
âAfraid soâ you giggleÂ
He lets his smile break free then, no more holding back âHow terribleâ he nudges his nose against yours
âHorrible reallyâ you continue the joke before softly pecking his lips âAre you glad I interrupted your routine now?â
âVeryâ he whispers before capturing your lips again
End of Flashback
âWhat?âÂ
Heâs snapped out of his daze, smiling wide as he leans forward and places a sweet yet firm kiss to your lips
âWhat was that for?â you wonder, taken aback by the sudden intimacy but not upset in the slightest

End of Flashback
âWhat?âÂ
Heâs snapped out of his daze, smiling wide as he leans forward and places a sweet yet firm kiss to your lips
âWhat was that for?â you wonder, taken aback by the sudden intimacy but not upset in the slightest

âMotherfuâŠâ you yelp, sucking a breath as you curseÂ

Remus smiles to himself as he walks home, bag of essentials in one hand and flowers in the other. He didnât know what to expect when he got in, this morning he had left a very adamant you who swore, and he quotes, that she âwas not getting sickâ. As much as he wanted to believe you, your subtle coughs and sniffles were not subtle enough, hence the bags filled with supplies to make easy stews and soups for you to eat, fresh tissues for that sniffly nose, medicine for those headaches, cough syrup that heâll likely have to bribe you into taking, and lastly, some flowers, though are mostly to make you smile
He doesnât mind the extra effort, in fact, it brings him an odd sense of joy knowing heâll be able to look after you for once. Ever since youâve known him youâve been looking after him, and now that you both were living together, far from the wizarding world, youâd have to bear the brunt of it all on your own with his friends off living their own lives. It wasnât that they didnât care for him anymore, no, he had encouraged them to go live their lives, and while you were supportive of that, he still feels guilty sometimes that heâs locked you into such a life
He breathes a sigh of relief at the sight of your shared home, even if the gutter was hanging off againâŠleast the plants are getting a good water
As he reaches the front door, he places down the bags and flowers softly, rubbing his achy hand from the weight before using them to open the rather stubborn door you both should really fix. With one hand turning the key and the other pulling the door towards him the lock clicks and he can push it open. His theory you were sicker than you were letting on is confirmed when silence greets him on the other end. Usually youâre like a happy little bunny meeting him at the front door, all excited and practically bouncing as you run up to give him a hug. But today he finds a dim hall, only illuminated by the soft light of the living room as the door has been left ajarÂ
He moves the bags and flowers inside before locking the door behind him and calling out âLove?â but he receives no answer
Abandoning the supplies for a moment he walks towards the light, his smile coming back as he pushes the door open and realises why you were quiet. Youâre caught red handed in getting up from the small fort you had created on the couch, smiling shyly as you practically have to wrestle out of the sheer magnitude of blankets you had hoarded
âHiâ you croak a little, embarrassed as you continue to shuffle outÂ
He wishes you would stay seated and let him come to you, but he doesnât argue, and instead closes the gap âHeyâ he coos âHow are you feelinâ?âÂ
You pout as you approach him âMehâ is all you can muster before your head falls instinctively into his chest
He chuckles, opening his jacket fully so you can slip your hands in to steal his warmth as you always did âPoor babyâ he kisses the top of your head, bring his arms around you before looking over at your makeshift bed
Frankly itâs a disaster site, from the multiple blankets and pillows thrown together in no particular order, to the loo roll being used as tissue paper. He over looks at the coffee table next, noting some medicine on the table, a good start, followed by some old tea, half eaten toast, along with a couple forgotten books you clearly tried to read but then opted for generic tv instead when you couldnât concentrate
Out of everything there was only one thing he was going to give you a little row forâŠ
âNo water?â he looks down at you
He has to put on his best poker face now as you look up with the most guilty little face
âI hadâŠsomeâ you reply, face giving away your play while your hands falls to begin playing with the rim of his jumper
âTea doesnât countâŠneither does juice or coffeeâ he adds when you open your mouth to objectÂ
You lower your head to guise your shame âIâm sorry Remâ you mumbleÂ
He can feel the pout through his jumper âIâm not mad, promiseâ he pulls you back gently, giving you a reassuring look before he eyes you âSoâŠare you going let me look after ya this time?â
You donât try to pretend like this morning nor argue against him, just nod. Gone is the stubborn girl who swore she was okay and was going to get so much done on her day off, and what remains is a very tired and sick one that just wants coddled by her boyfriend
âGood girlâ he moves you back towards the couch âLet's get you hydrated firstâ he tells you as he encourages you to sit down âWhen did you last take those?â he gestures to the packet of pillsÂ
Your eyebrows scrunch before you look over towards the clock âAround 11ish, maybe 12?â you shrug softly, giving him a sorry smile for not keeping better track âIs it really 6 already?â you say mostly to yourself before coughing softly
He just kisses your forehead, saying heâll be right back as he returns to the hall, hanging up his jacket before collecting the bags and taking them into the kitchen. He quickly puts some things that needed to go in the fridge away before grabbing a clean glass and filling it up with some water. While heâs here he grabs a spare vase from under the sink. Usually he would make you a bouquet but today he opted for the quicker version, allowing him to place them in directly and waste no time in returning to you, flowers in one hand, water in the other
Youâre right where he left you when he reenters the living room, and he canât help but find your idling adorable. Rocking your feet back and forth, hands under your thighs as your head looks around the room, eyes wandering like you hadnât fully decorated the place yourself
âLoveâ he gently calls, gaining your attention, his smile widening at your little scooch towards him as he joins you on the couch, placing the flowers on the table in front of you along with the water
âYou got me flowers?â you cheese, cheeks barely containing your glee
He nods, his heart flipping like he was a schoolboy again at your silly smile âLike em?â he asks even though he already knows the answer
âVery muchâ you reach out, thump and forefinger softly playing with the petals before you kiss his shoulder âDo they smell as pretty as they look?â you wonder, struggling with your stuffy nose
Remusâ smile sinks to a sympathetic one, arm sliding around your waist âThey doâ he confirms âAnd youâll be able to smell them sooner once youâre hydratedâ he pivots the conversation, picking up the glass and handing it to youÂ
You accept the tumbler with a small eye roll, cupping it as you take small sips, leaning into his side, while Remusâ arm moves upward, hand finding the top of your head, giving you little pets. You cough periodically while you rehydrate, and Remus kisses the side of your head every time you do, after your most recent he nuzzles his nose in a little. You let out a couple of soft hums, the first from the closeness, and the second at the loss of contact when Remus shifts awayÂ
He feels your confused gaze as he walks over to your desk, grabbing the smaller bin as he begins to clear away the coffee table
âYou donâŠâ you start but he just gives you a look â...have to do thatâŠâ you whisper the rest to yourself but he still hears youÂ
âI want toâ he says simply, placing the bin down beside the table before leaving the room, taking away the old tea with him
When he returns he finds you struggling with your blankets âLet me make you a proper bed, this ones just sadâ he teases, ushering you to get up
âYouâre sadâ you retort quietly, hiding your little smile at the idea of a getting Remus style bed couch
He lets out a breathy laugh that sinks to amusing admiration at your little waddle over to the nearby armchair, water in tow. As he moves all of the blankets to one side, throwing away any tissues that had fallen into them, he notices you bring your feet up to sit on, warming them up after being exposed to the cold floor.Â
He picks up one of the spare blankets âUpâ he gestures for you to lift up your arms and when you do he drapes the soft material over you âGood girlâ he throws you a wink before turning back to the couch, unable to contain his smirk as he hears your little wriggles beneath the blanket at his choice of words
He begins his work, layering the fluffiest of the blankets down, tucking it into the edges of the couch cushions. Next he piles the random assortment of pillows you had hoarded to cradle you, while he takes your favourite blanket and drapes it over, folding it at the top so you can slip in. Itâs then he adds the final touches, bringing through a pitcher of water and fresh box of tissues, before flicking on the softer lamp
âThereâ he says, looking proud of his creation
He looks towards you for confirmation, finding you smiling sweetly at him before sipping your water again, doing your best to hold back the coughs that threaten bubble over
âDoing alright loveâ he kneels down, hand finding your thigh through the plush material
You nod but then wear a slightly embarrassed smileÂ
âWhatâs wrong? You want the bigger blanketâ he rubs your legs, worried there's a draft heâs not noticed
âRemâŠdo I smell?â you blurt out, pursing your lips a little âI feel stinkyâ you confess, nose all scrunched
He does his best not to chuckle, especially as he notices a stray hair thatâs falling forward like a depressed little unicorn
âHmmmâ he leans forward âLet me seeâ he begins to dramatically sniff around you, basking in your croaky giggles before he widens his eyes âOh my!â he pretends to faint from the smell, head falling into you lap
âRem!â you huff, shoving him a little before you cough again âRemmy!â you shake him again, your tone in time with the shakes but your coughs get the better of you and it soon turns into a small fit
âOhâŠhunâ he feels guilty as he lifts his head, shifting to sit on the arm of the chair as he rubs your back softly âSlow breaths, youâre gonna be okay I promiseâ he assures noticing your slight distress as you struggle to catch your breath
When your breathing stabilises you lean into him âAnd you say Iâll be the death of youâ you meekly chuckle, earning you a kiss to the head
Once heâs sure youâre okay Remus stands âCome onâ he helps you up âIâll run you a bathâŠâ he tells you before adding the next part with a grin â...itâll help you feel less stinkyâÂ
You roll your eyes before your expression drops, realising he said âyouâ and not âweâ just now âYou arenât going to join me?â you say, reaching what must reaching a record breaking amount of pouts in one dayÂ
He shakes his head âSorry love, not this timeâ he flicks his thumb across your cheek before taking your hand again âThat alright?â he starts to lead you
After a semi grumpy âhmphâ but allow him to take you upstairs. As you enter the bathroom he sits you down at the end of the tub, feeling your eyes as he goes into the cupboard to fetch you a towel, catching you leaning forward to continue watching as he heads into the bedroom to fetch you fresh clothes, and by clothes a set of his old pjs
âI brought you some underwear if you want itâ he gestures to the delicates, wellâŠmore delicate as heâs already correctly assumed you probably wouldnât want a bra
âThanksâ you smile at him, standing to give him a proper kiss but he turns his head at the last minute causing you to miss, catching his cheek instead âRemmy!â you scold in the quietest little voice as not to induce another coughing fit
He chuckles âSorry little sicklingâ he pats your head âCanât have us both sickâ he explains âBe tragicâ
You cross your arms âIâm not a sicklingâ you grumble, looking away for a moment before you attempt to broker âOneâ you plead, but he doesnât budge âPleaseâŠpretty pleaseâŠchocolate on top?â
It kills him to deny you, especially when you look at him like thatâŠand offer hi chocolate, but he could only have one sickling in this house at a time, and far to often does he take up that mantle
âBath first, then you can try negotiating little sicklingâ he uses the nickname again, revealing in how it annoys you in the cutest way
After one last attempt with those eyes you give in, shoulders slumping as you mutter a small âfineâdâ, moving around him to begin underdressing. Remus takes that as a cue to take your place at the tub, sitting closer to the tap as he runs you your bath, fingers softly flicking under the running water as he waits for it to heat
âRem honey?â you attempt gain his attention after a couple minutes
I know that tone
âReeemmmâ he can just imagine the poses
He hangs his head a little, smirking to himself, he had to admire your attempts. Still, he lives to annoy you even if you were to quote future you âmortally woundedâ, so he leaves you to stew a little, focusing on placing the plug in the drain, and pouring some of your favourite smellies and salts in. Itâs only after you let out another âhmphâ that his body pulses a laugh, failing to hold it in as you must resemble a bunny thumping when their mad or want attention, in fact heâs surprised he didnât hear your foot stomp
âLovâŠâ he turns around, words leaving him as he canât stop the loving smirk at your figure âNoâ he says half heartedly
âPleaseâ you bring your arms a little closer to your sides, accentuating two particular assets
Remus meant when he said the sight of both of you sick would be tragic but heâs losing that battle with how good you look as you try to seduce him into giving you a kissâŠor the getting in the bath with youâŠor both, probably both
âRem!â you whine, scrunching your face before your eyes light up turning around, wiggling
He takes a moment to admire the jiggle before he stands, wrapping his arms around you, causing you to turn and face him, a winning smile on your face but it falls as he tilts his head, giving you a downturned smile
âDid it work even a little bit?â you sulk
He chuckles, fingers raking through your hair, being careful of the tugs that have formed âIf you werenât sick love Iâd be afraid of flooding the bathroom with how quickly you would have gotten dragged over thereâ he nods across the hall, causing you to shyly smile âI promise youâll get all the real kisses you want once you recoverâÂ
âPlus interest?â you pose, rocking on your toes as you bite your lip a little, and heâs suddenly aware of the double meaning in your tone
Merlin he could fall in love with you all over again
âPlus interestâ he agrees with a chuckle, giving you a big smile and kiss to the top of your head before turning back to the bath before it really does overflow
Leaning back over the tub he turns off the tap, pulling the sleeves of his jumper up as he checks the temperature and gently mixes in the soap. Once heâs happy with the water to bubbles ratio he wipes the soap that clings to his forearms and reaches out towards you
âReady love?âÂ
You nod, taking his hands and letting him guide you carefully into the tub. A hiss escapes your lips as your foot touches the water, taking a moment to adjust to the temperature, while Remus, ever the gentlemen, Remus keeps a steady hold on you as you sink in fully, and once youâre settled he gently gathers your hair, securing it out of the way before it has a chance to dip into the water, he would help you wash it later
âThe steam will help clear your sinuses while I make us some dinnerâ he tells you as he kneels next to the tub, the backs of his fingers finding your cheek for a moment âI got youâ
You lean into it, getting shy under his care âYouâre too sweetâ you bring your knees up to your chest
Remusâ lips part at the use of his monthly catchphrase being used against him. You were always to patient when he was a grumpy old sod before his transformations, and so sweet and gentle after them, making him warm food, tending to his wounds, kissing everything better
Time to return the favour
He brings his lips to the corner of your own, lingering there before he uses your own words against you âJust treating you the way you deserveâ he plants another to your temple then stands âIâll be back soonâÂ
You give him a small nod, coughing gently âThank you Remmyâ you smile, practically melting into the tub âI love youâ
âI love you moreâŠâ he blows you a kiss before he leaves, but just before the door closes he adds â...my little sicklingâÂ

You fiddled nervously with your quill as you awaited his arrival, eyes continually flicking to the corner whenever someone passed by. You figured he would be late, although there was a part of you that hoped he would blow it off. Talking had never been your strong suit, it took you a while before you could openly talk to someone, it was almost like a little door into the real you that very few people got to go through.
Your Herbology professor had told you that if you tutored Sirius you wouldnât have to do the oral presentation. It was like picking between two of your biggest fears, public speaking and one to one conversation, oh and sprinkle on top your âstudentâ being the polar opposite of you, talkative, popular, seen, while you were the invisible girl that people sometimes wondered was mute
I love this so much, I think iâve reread it like five times, itâs so cute, and readerâs personality is genuinely so real. i loved their dynamic slowly grow and the whole tutoring thee sirius black, iâm lrl going to explode, combust, collapse> friendship > just like the purest and sweetest relationship :(
