Environment Photo Study with an added Atreus
(2023)
I so to recreate an alternative fight about Kratos and Heimdall.
I thinking it would never finish, but was fun to draw them.
Skjöldr: I hate that having a crush can make you so stupid
Atreus: right? I act so stupid around mine
Angrboda: but you always act a little silly
Atreus: yeah..... well, uh, don't think too hard about that

Head canon about the mask👀
I really do feel inclined to believe what Odin's says despite all the signs that say don't do that. But Freya did say that even when Odin tells the truth that his purpose is false soooo... I think he was telling the truth about what he knew/believed about the mask.
The mask is the answer to any and all questions, possibly the answers to magic that would otherwise be impossible in the Nine Realms. Odin said that he doesn't know where he goes when he dies so he wants to know and wants to know potentially how to prevent Ragnarok. Makes sense. This man doesn't want to die, doesn't want his people, realm to die, and fears the unknown.
Or so he says. Assuming he's telling the truth about the mask but not his purpose with wanting it, I'd say there's truth in the fear of the unknown because Odin constantly craves knowledge. He wants absolute control over himself, Asgard, all the realms, everyone as people, and possibly to extend his control further if he feels like it... So the mask, in Odin's hands, could be a tool to control everything in the realms because it grants him all knowledge to do so
My headcanon is that the mask is a Jotun trap/prank and Loki only knew the languages because the Jotuns made sure he could through their magic and knowledge. and they are all fake writeings made to kill Odin and; in fact. It did kill him in the end. No one is ever going to hand such power through a key that can be just translated by the right person. That's a trap. If you want to keep something well hidden? you don't make a key.

Best scene in gow that made you really like the game?
The first game of the Norse Saga, the scene at the very end of the game where Atreus tells Kratos about what all the prophecies on the wall said. He tells his father that the Giants called him "Loki"
I had only seen that clip first and yes, it was a spoiler but that alone made me want to know the entire story of this game and I got so invested because at the time(and still now), I was super into Norse Mythology so I had to see any and all Norse Mythology content and God of War did it in a style that I actually liked! I was like "fucking finally!"
I think I have about five Norse Mythology books on my shelf and pretend that's normal so this GoW obsession was bound to happen
Then God of War Ragnarok came out years later- got me sucked right back in but now I'm even crazier about it
Other than that "Loki" scene from the first game, Mimir and all the fun stories he told and how Atreus would eagerly respond and how Kratos struggled to be a father while maintaining distance from his son. That first game was awesome- Would cry again 👍
And then the second one with Odin- Fuck, it was epic. Not perfect, but I still liked it. . . as you can tell from how much I drown myself in it
