Hello

I was wondering if I could do one please?

Hi there how many OCs can we request for? Does it need to be female characters? Is it okay to send references in your DM?
Hello!
You can request 1 image and it may have more than one character in the image, but to give other people a chance I’ll only do one commission per person. I’m happy to do a character montage, for example.
Doesn’t have to be female!
Yes please do send as many references and descriptions as you think I’ll need. The more informed I am the better I can make something close to what you’re looking for. Details about characters personalities help too.
Let me paint your OC
I’m taking free art requests!
Right now, I’m excited by the idea of bringing someone else’s vision to life. I’m open to taking on 4, free art requests - within reason, terms below.
This will be a great way for me to challenge myself and flex my creative muscles again, and you get a free painting 🖼️
The window for requests will close with the first 4 ideas I accept, or by 1 December 2024.
Note:
I won’t take on just anything. Please look at my artwork before sending a request. I will decline if I don’t think your request suits my style, or I’m uncomfortable with working on the idea. Check out my instagram for more recent examples of my work: @rochelle_burrows
I’ll choose the medium. It may be digital or traditional, a sketch or full colour.
I’ll send the finished artwork as a digital image.
You can’t use the finished piece for profit, but you may upload it to your socials with the proper credit to me included.
I will post the finished artwork on my social media channels, so don’t send requests for anything you don’t want people to see.
It may take a while to get your piece as I’m doing this in my spare time around other commitments.
Send me your concept!
Serenity
This started out as a commission and then became something else to me entirely. A lesson. In many areas, not just art. The photo reference I had was extremely awkward. I did what I could, but I do like the end result. Calmness, serenity, peace. I think I captured that.
As an artist, remember to value the time and energy you put into your work. Not everyone will respect that, so make sure you’re the one who always will.

“Leo and the Sun”
I can’t wait to finish this so I can share it!
“Cancer the Moon”
Another painting from 2020. This is the zodiac sign Cancer. Cancers ‘planet’ in astrology is the moon, her symbol is the crab, she symbolises the womb and her element is water. Sometimes Cancer has to make an effort to stay with us on dry land.
The two towers in the background are a salut to the Moon card in the Rider Waite tarot deck.
“Angel of the New Dawn”
I painted this in 2020 and forgot to post it here. She is the angel of my favourite time of day. That beautiful moment just before the sun rises in the morning to welcome a new day. Enjoy.
The Moon WIP
The Moon, ascending Lord of Cancer, the crab. Here is a sneak peak at a tarot card I’m painting. I can’t wait to share the full piece. I’ve wanted to paint a tarot card for so long and the Moon, with it’s soft, emotive, cardinal energy, seemed like a great place to start. I can sense a potential series! - Rochelle

Interested in my process? I’ve started posting weekly art videos on YouTube.

My Art Progress!
I’ve gone and made the video that would make my past self cringe! In this one I’m sharing some of my sketchbook fails, plus my tips on how to knuckle down if you really are serious and want to see an improvement in your artwork. Enjoy!

I’ve finally started posting on Instagram!
The Saviour
Emma Swan.
I’ve been rewatching Once Upon a Time and I really needed to paint this.
See how I painted Emma or watch a quick time-lapse video
I’m really enjoying making videos lately! In this video I’m talking about how a couple of my favourite artists stand out to me, and how you can apply what I’ve learned to make your work stand out too. Enjoy! <3
WIP: Angel of the New Dawn
I had a long time away from art to decide whether it was truly for me. I feel like I’m back in a skin that really fits this time. This is the Angel of the New Dawn, sister to the Star, tarot 17, and this piece is a work in progress.
Another Study
Hi Tumblr! It’s been a while. Here’s a study I did to practise painting skin. It was a lot of fun.
I still have plans to finish that Lucifer piece I started. Watch this space!
I’m really going to try and post more often. Feel free to hold me accountable!
If you love a timelapse like I do, click below to see how I painted this!

Lucifer WIP
As the title says! I know I’m late to the party but I loved what Netflix did with Lucifer and I can’t wait for season 5! I will put colour on this one. Watch this space!
More of my work here!
Commission for Ashley
As the title suggests, this was a commission for @ashycole who designed this great character. She was a lot of fun to draw - I got a little carried away! I absolutely love the colours Ashy used and I swatched them directly from the reference I was given.
Thanks to @ashycole for giving me the permission to post this.
edit: I changed some things that were really bothering me!
Simple Sketch
A little warm up sketch I did this morning that I liked enough to throw some colour on! I forgot how much I love drawing the full human figure and remembered at the same time just how hard it is to get right. Trying to make something look dynamic, proportionate and appealing all at once is quite difficult, but is also half the fun!
Putting this here so I remember to work on it later
