Ollies into the Sun
Lee was intrigued by the people he saw carting themselves around Iwakiri between classes. It was a ‘skateboard’, one of his students explained. After a lot of inquiries, they had given him one to practice on.
It took a fair amount of time to get his balance on the wheeled contraption, but after working at it, he was finally able to stand without flailing. The next step was to put it all in motion.
Lee rolled himself around the pavement, testing how fast and smoothly he could mount and dismount the board. Once he felt he was ready, he took off down the school paths. He picked up enough momentum not to push himself, and the feeling was so satisfying!
But, he had forgotten one important factor: hills. And he was rapidly riding down one. He was enjoying the speed so much he had not realised he was whizzing towards a group of unsuspecting people... and slowing down would be near impossible now!
