Saliva’s “Love, Lies & Therapy” Album Review:
On June 10, 2016, Saliva released their 9th studio album called “Love, Lies & Therapy”. This is a real strong voice and killer riff-oriented album. Throughout the entire album, we hear a lot of steady precise drums, heavy guitar riffs, spot on bass, strong vocals and catchy lyrics. This is one of the most well-balanced albums I’ve ever heard. The album opens up with the song “Trust” which is a perfect introduction to the rest of this record. “Trust” with a heavy guitar riff, steady drum beat and then comes Bobby Amaru’s raspy voice with catchy lyrics. Bobby Amaru’s singing in this album gives the band an attitude they’ve been missing. The newly found attitude in Saliva’s music can be heard in many songs throughout the album like “Tragic Kind Of Love”, “Bitch Like You” and “Rx”. Also, we can see the perfect balance between the heavier songs like “Refuse To Lose” and softer songs like “Unschatter Me” and “Breakdown”, which makes this album not tiring to listen to. Saliva also included a cover of the Michael Jackson classic “They Don’t Care About Us” which was a great effort by them to re-imagine and re-create the song, which I must say was a job well done by the guys. Also, the boys in Saliva revisited their old school sound with the song “Go Big Or Go Home”. Saliva did a really good job of capturing both new fans and old school fans with this record, which I believe it was a missing aspect in their other recent albums. Something that makes this record stand out is how it makes you want to jump, groove and bang your head. Overall, it is a job very well done by the guys in Saliva, totally a recommended addition to your music catalogs. Support the artist by buying the album and seeing them live on tour.
