So to start off, FL. I mean, quite literally the embodiment of those cold and aloof CEO types but as a woman. She's short of words, calm, collected, endlessly devoted and, of course, dominant asf. She's so cool and protective of those around her, first of her sister, but then of course, her man!
Then there's ML who is an adorable babygirl idol (singer iirc?). He's clingy and a little whiny, but so so precious and easy to fluster. He's also rather FL-coded in the sense that he's obviously the more emotional and sensitive one between the two, but he's also eager to help out but too silly and clumsy with it so he fails and FL finds it endlessly endearing. He absolutely ADORES being her pretty babygirl trophy husband and it's genuinely so cute to see!
I loved how they didn't shy away from letting him be sensitive and lowkey an emotional crybaby and showing how she understood him and knew how to approach him even if she struggled with expressing her own emotions. FL also has a lot of very heroic moments and bridal carries him not one, but TWO times!!!! And can I just say that it looked so fucking good? I'm always a sucker for RR carries, even if they look awkward, but XZQ really doesn't disappoint with her strength!
And can I just say how ridiculously sexy FL looked in this??? The suits, turtlenecks, slicked back hair, and glasses were such a good choice 😩
Another amazing RR detail was how the leads consistently wake up in the reversed positions which is with ML leaning into FL while cuddling in bed. It's a detail most stories overlook, but it goes a long way in showing an understanding of the trope past just 'femdom, lol', yknow? Like, this was very GB/4i to me. And I'm a SUCKER for RR details and simply love when they take role reversal a step further so this really did it for me.

The 'main' (it's fairly 50/50) couple are obviously very trad, but had a little bit of an RR/femdom-ish moment at one point, so, there's that. But what I liked about them was how the younger sister and ML kinda bonded as the... dare I say 'feminine' in-laws? Idk, it was cute to see the two (bottoms) giggling and gossiping with each other.
So overall, skip the main couple and enjoy the insanely good RR secondary couple! The overall quality of the drama is okay, but don't go in expecting plot or anything, because it's very much just a fluffy romcom watch xD

Surprisingly decent for a matriarchy as long as you don't look too deep and are just here for the vibes. FL was a shameless down-bad flirty bastard and ML was so catty and bratty and cute. Bonus points for an cruel villain SFL xD
The truth is, vertical dramas know who their target is and are absolutely going all out on it.
She literally kidnaps him then threatened to break his legs, dig his heart to eat it, or gouge his eyes so he looks only at her forever. All so he never leaves her...

Alluring Night 《夜色撩人》 (Chinese vertical miniseries) - God-tier vampire romance (as long as you can handle the vertical style, but it's SO worth it, please give it a try). Genuinely so fucking good. Possessive dominant cold FL and her reluctant-to-eager subby pet human! (I haven't talked about this drama yet because it's not on MDL, so it's hard to find)
Beautiful Vampire (Korean indie film) - This one was cute for what it was. Very much black cat FL x retriever ML. [My Post]
The Sweet Blood (Korean miniseries) - Low budget and campy, but still role reversal, even if less so than the others on this list. ML was very much the prince in peril and FL was his protector.
Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (Canadian movie) - Protective empathetic black-cat FL x cloudy sunshine protected ML. Not quite as RR as I was hoping for, but a cute and macabre watch (beware of the trigger content!!)

Ignore the AI cover, the drama has real actors, I promise.
Now this one was a surprise, and I really enjoyed reading way too deep into this. FL from the drama Blind gave me gentledom vibes.
Now, hear me out. I know, she doesn't look the part, but she just has this natural, gentle, commanding nature that I've VERY rarely seen before. Especially dom women are the bossy domineering type with few exceptions. But this Eun Ki seemed like someone who actually and genuinely was dominant without needing to throw her weight around.
I especially found it interesting how ML reacted to these instances, which was to 1000% listen to her. She 'bosses' him around and he listens to her pretty much without hesitation.
She's also very protective despite being physically weak and ML being physically strong. She's always looking out for him and showing up to save him when he calls her in distress. She stands up for him, and honestly, such great vibes.
I don't have this with all RR subtext pairings, but these two DEFINITELY dated after the drama ended. And she definitely dommed him.
And he actually does, while patting her arms, and not really remembering the lyrics and being kinda terribly embarrassed.
And she fully wakes up finally.
They are adorable!!!
