[14:00] This week I worked on redrawing a 'cast' (not sure what that means), and it's been a long process, my arm hurts, it's not even close to being done.. but at least it's looking pretty good. According to my teacher, "we're just getting started," so we'll see what's in store for me.

[20:19] Progress on my sphere study! It's looking a lot more realistic than ever but I'm still not happy with the technique. I think I'm gonna finish it off tomorrow and move on to the next exercise.

[20:08] Yesterday's proportion homework. My teachers weren't too happy with my technique, which I know I have to refine more!! But the homework was to work on blocking in the light and shadow and proportions. So I didn't try to have good technique. Regardless, I still enjoy how these came out in the end ✍🏼

[17:44] I recently started studying in a art studio near where I live, where all they focus on is in studying the old masters and developing amazing technique. It's crazy the stuff they have on the walls, straight out of the renaissance! It's actually run by three artists who spent years learning how to paint in Italy. So it makes sense. I think this will help me have a really great portfolio. Here I'm copying the most perfect sphere I've ever seen in my life (right). Honestly, if you could see it in person, you wouldn't think it was done with just a pencil - the lines are so smooth it practically looks like paint. That's technique. Even from afar, you can see all the lines in mine (left). This is something I have to really improve.

[18:22] New pastel highlighters for my books! ✨ I just recently got over writing and marking passages in books (I get scared of ruining the pages) so I bought these cute pastel highlighters to keep track of my favorite quotes and/or interesting passages. I find normal highlighters bleed through to the other side and look way too... neon. 🙄 if that makes sense.

[17:07] About to start my figure drawing study. I’ve never really tried drawing the male figure before (I’m much more familiar with the female figure) but I’m ready to give it a try! Will update later with results ✍🏼
