The Vampire Lestat 3.03
Claudia was an unforeseen joy.
Interview with the Vampire ★ The Vampire Lestat 2x04 "I Want You More Than Anything in the World" 3x02 "Toledo"
Inspired by this post, @howmostardently.
I'm feeling low-key betrayed by Daniel, lol. I really thought that after the "He didn't save you, Lestat did!" from last season, he was in Louis' corner, that he was his friend, but these three episodes of S3 have shown me he's in his own corner.
He's been despicable to Lestat this season (and to Louis), all in the name of "journalism" and because he keeps chasing this story. He's addicted to their pain, and he doesn't care whether they heal or not, makeup or not, he just cares about being the one to tell this story, which revived his career. "I didn't get the cloud gift, I can't set things on fire." well cry me a river, old Daniel. Congratulations, you're a monster. Like the monsters you continue to talk about and still deny you're a part of. I was so glad when Lestat called him out "or are still pretending you're not a vampire?" I cheered.
Lestat seems to allude to Daniel being dead in The Failures, and I can't decide if I like it or not. I think he's a great character, just like Armand. I hate them both, but I also ship them lol I just want them far away from Loustat.
then & now ♡
then and now 🧡
“I think she’s threatened by it. She’s threatened by it as somebody who loves him and who wants to be the primary relationship in his life, wants to be the most important person to him in any room, and suddenly, there is somebody else. And Louis having Lestat’s ear just really saps her power.” (x)

Breaking Down the Train Scene for Dummies That Don't Rewatch the Seasons They Say They Love, Part 1: The Leading Up to The Scene
*deep sigh* I understand the point that is being made here, and as a fan of queer stories, there are simply not enough being made.
But people love to shit on Off Campus, even though that series was made before HR and the books came out first. By sheer luck and the alignment of the stars, the gays got to our screens first, when in reality, it should have premiered around the same time as Off Campus.
That being said, Icebreaker looks like trash or, at the very least, like Finding Her Edge. Which is not a compliment.
it has been endlessly said that the show should've been longer than 12 episodes, especially if they were gonna add:
high school backstory
serial killers,
greedy ministers,
a suddenly evil second lead,
the Queen Mother, bitterly pining for the Prince,
said Prince ascending to the throne only to abolish the monarchy.
It has left the secondary characters (and tons of side characters) forgotten or feeling flat and one-dimensional, like they have no purpose or lives outside the main characters. The motivations and "backgrounds" for the second leads came too late into the game. Which would've been fine in a simple romcom.
12 episodes were okay for a show like that, where the ambitious illegitimate daughter of a conglomerate family married into the royal family for status and became a princess, not for everything that came after.
MBC really did shoot itself in the foot on that one. It's not like they didn't have super-famous main leads, a solid supporting cast, and all the money they could think of.
Running desperately towards her, trying to make sure with his own eyes that she's safe.... oh, I love this. I will never get tired of it.
I couldn't help but think of Taylor Swift's Out of the Woods while watching this scene. It fits so well lol
can't get over how broken and scared he looks, Byeon Wooseok, you're meant to suffer and be tortured over the girl you love in all your future dramas. I'm sorry, I don't make the rules.
And I love this for HuiJu so, so much. Because no one has ever shown her love so openly, so raw, like this. She's so confused because she can't understand how someone (the beloved Grand Prince, no less) would be scared shitless, trembling and sweaty and in tears, over the mere thought of losing her. No one has ever loved her this much. And no one else ever will (you hear that Prime Minister? You coward)
There's this moment that I can't capture in screenshots, that I absolutely loved and is how Lee Ahn starts sobbing but no sound comes out and it's soooooo heartbreakingly beautiful. And then he takes some deep breaths to compose himself and says to her:
He hugs her so tight :( I'm unwell.
ABOLISH THE MONARCHY, DAMN! Let him be a trophy husband to his CEO wife. Is what he wants, that's what he needs. I'm sure.
And if Heated Rivalry would have come out after Off Campus, the questions from the press would've been the same. The jokes online would've been crueler (because you know, a small tv show with a 4 dollar budget, with two completely unknown leads and on top of it all, GAY)
The real enemy here is the press. They know what they're doing, the don't care that the shows are worlds apart in plot. They are rage baiting to gain clicks and views. And guess what? They're winning.
Why is the "whose book are they doing next in the show?" even a question?? They just announced who is gonna be playing Grace.
DeanAllie's book has to be the third season. Even better if it means Alli is gonna be stuck in that other relationship like in the book. There's a lot of development that they can do with her character, that wasn't in the books. Same goes with Dean. And if he is obsessed with her since s1?? Ugh, the angst! Yes, please. Give it to me. I can wait.
I do not care if people think some of the guys look too old to still be at college. It's acting. And plus, they play Hockey, they have to be huge. Like why is that such a big deal?
IU said she asked the writer and director why they didn't hire child actors for the high school scenes and the response was "there aren't that many scenes and they're really important" which is hilarious given:
NO ONE buys that they're high school
the number of scenes is more than 3-5. Anything over this should call for a younger cast.
At this point they're not just flashbacks, they're telling a mini-story. The drama's production certainly had the money for it.
*gritting teeth* LOOK.AT.THEM!!! lookatthem!!! so damn cute
What actually makes me laugh the most about the "fake-dating" trope (and mind you, I LOVE IT) is the fact that the people in it are only lying to themselves, and more often than not, one of them already has some amount of feelings for the other. There is no fake dating, my friends, not when you are actually going on dates, calling each other randomly and kissing while having romantic rendezvous for the press. Or asking someone to move in with you because you're worried about their safety.
And not a word of that was a lie.
For example, the Prince. I do not think he's felt undying love for her since high school, but I do think she caught his interest and that's largely remained unresolved over the years, until now. I mean, she's not ugly and she's fun and unpredictable, and that has to amuse the High Prince who's been following boring-filled protocol his whole life. He longs for spontaneity.
I think she has had some level of obsession with him. Not romantically, of course, but here is a guy who handed her a win that she had been busting her ass off to get. She did not need him to lose, knows that he did anyway, for whatever reason and has been pissed ever since, because she has worked hard for every single one of her wins. This is why her mind immediately went to the Royal Family, and him specifically, when she started thinking about marrying up, just to finally look down on the people who have done that to her for years.
i think he does!
I don't care what he says after this. He did not see any reporter until after the kiss lol but also, bringing him tea and magnesium supplements? to your fake-fiancee? Yeah, lying to themselves, I say!
I think my only issue with this show is the soundtrack. You're telling an epic love story set in modern-day monarchy, the songs should match the vibe, and be grand with strong voices, full of personality, sometimes somber; artists like Gummy, Ailee, NELL and such soloists.
Instead we got songs that feel like they belong in a coming of age high school romance, where the protagonists take a walk in the park while holding hands. It feels off.
