A couple more from the reblogs...
And there was one about Jean, but I can't find it.
I FOUND THE ONE ABOUT JEAN:
in andrew’s life, there’s a strict system of access. neil made his way into this system not because andrew loves him, but because he went through hell, didn’t betray, accepted the rules, and never questioned them. if andrew says there’s nothing between them, neil silently accepts it and understands that labeling their relationship is pointless. katelyn is an additional variable in his system, representing something from the world of normal people. he sees her as someone who won’t be able to cope with their reality. the desire to get rid of her is a normal reaction for him; that’s exactly how his primitive defense mechanism works.
besides, katelyn is aaron’s attempt to pretend to be normal, but he isn’t. aaron is just as broken as andrew. his girlfriend is a symbol of that “normal life” that andrew hates, because it’s all a lie. andrew knows that in a critical situation, katelyn will either run away or break down, whereas neil won’t. that’s exactly why he trusts neil unconditionally but disregards katelyn. until she proves she’s trustworthy, it’ll stay that way.
the truth is, katelyn doesn’t care about anyone’s approval. her goal is to be with aaron, not to win the blessing of his strange, silent twin brother, who looks at her as if she’s invaded enemy territory and is walking through a minefield. she doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. it’s enough that aaron chose her.
andrew doesn’t know what she’s really like? she doesn’t care. andrew interpret her unwillingness to prove anything to him as a sign of weakness or indifference? katelyn considers his demands an absurd intrusion into her private life.
they mean nothing to each other, and if he wants to continue treating her like an enemy, so be it. katelyn knows that’s not true, just as she knows that it’s enough for her that aaron will always take her side, just as she will take his.

Very Silly Concept: a show called "Accessibility Nightmares" but it's structured exactly like Kitchen Nightmares. An accessibility specialist goes to different establishments and helps them make their businesses more accessible.
The accessibility specialist asks why the door at the top of the small set of stairs has a wheelchair symbol on it. The owner replies that's the accessible bathroom. The camera zooms in on the specialist as they process this information.
A customer with a service dog comes in to a restaurant. The hostess tells them they don't allow dogs. The accessibly specialist looks over at the hostess like
And there are web accessibility episodes too. The accessibility specialist stares at the white text on the light pink background of the home page like
The specialist asks why not a single product picture has alt text, and the business owner says "Well I mean, it's makeup, why would a blind person be shopping for makeup?" The specialist just
The specialist asks the web designer how a screen reader user is supposed to complete the captcha portion of the password reset process when there is no audio alternative. The designer admits they don't know.
#this post has 10k notes to me
When you left this tag three days ago, I thought "that's so sweet, but no. No way this concept is even close to that popular."
Poor Andrew, he'll have to hear about Trojans and Exy again.
Kevin can't catch a break!!!

the number 1 rule of fanfic is have fun and be yourself. the number 2 rule is the average healthy adult male can lose roughly 2 liters of blood before dying.

Jean and Neil talking about the horrors of the nest and Kevin over hearing them and knowing that Jean and Neil have the capacity to talk about it but they just can’t with him specifically. Sigh this fandom is a prison
We're genuinely so brave for the way we somehow manage to navigate cis society never knowing wtf is going on in their heads at any given time
That's such a hilarious response. For a brief moment the boss lived in a better world that has universal mpreg for everyone...
I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion but Andrew and Wymack are one of the most interesting dynamics in aftg to me
I have nothing to post for pride month yet, I apologize
andrew and neil may not be soft but they do know devotion, and I feel like we’ve got a fair bit to back that up with canon:
it’s in andrew taking neil’s weight time and time again, holding him up.
it’s in neil rushing to cover andrew with the bedsheets after thanksgiving.
it’s in neil asking betsy to put andrew off his drugs, because he was the only one who hated them & what they did to andrew as much as andrew did.
it’s in neil offering himself to riko’s torture for two weeks to protect andrew.
it’s in andrew driving back from the interstate just to get neil from the stadium.
it’s in andrew calling all the hospitals over and over again, because he refused to stop looking for neil.
it’s in neil gently brushing his fingers against andrew’s temple and, “they could’ve blinded you. all this time fighting, and you never learned how to duck?”
it’s in neil framing andrew’s face with his hands instead of touching him.
it’s in andrew refusing to let anyone near neil in his injured state, it’s in his firm “get away from us.”
it’s in neil’s “andrew, they want to take me away. they want to insert me in the witness protection program, I don’t want to—“ no, that wasn’t fair. “if you tell me to go, I’ll go.”
it’s in andrew sitting in on neil’s interrogation with the fbi because, “I don’t trust them to give you back.”
it’s in andrew sleeping in a room full of people just to keep neil in his line of sight after he was kidnapped.
it’s in neil’s quiet “hey” when he noticed andrew hadn’t spoken since they left baltimore.
it’s in andrew covering neil’s injuries with trash bags so that the bandages wouldn’t get wet.
it’s in neil humming encouragement in andrew’s mouth when andrew was getting himself off, knowing how big of a step that was for him.
it’s in andrew showering him & carefully scrubbing away the horrors of baltimore.
it’s in neil saving the towel for andrew afterwards and choosing to air dry.
it’s in andrew buying a pair of matching armbands for neil to cover his scars, after he saw neil having a panic attack over them.
it’s in neil crossing the court in seconds the moment a player launched himself at andrew to knock the breath out of him & it’s in neil grabbing that same player (that was double his size) and throwing him away from andrew.
it’s in andrew dragging himself to neil, crumpled and unresponsive on the court floor, with a broken collarbone and limp hand & it’s in andrew somehow managing to choke his attacker before she could reach him again.
devotion is in both neil and andrew, and they wordlessly taught it to each other without expecting anything back. they found each other, realized that no, they weren’t willing to lose each other, and gave their complete devotion to the other.
and I think that’s far more special than softness or an half-assed “I love you”.
Why hasn’t this been done before?
You know why.

Hey, if anyone’s curious, this IS making a serious impact — this handbook was taught as standard practice for my EMT license course, as well as several other programs. A lot of new providers are being taught this as a matter of course.
can i just say — ik im still only halfway through TSC but i'm really liking the kevin we're seeing??? don't get me wrong, i always liked him, but it's really put into perspective how much neil views kevin as being kind of a spineless bitch lol, as compared to jean
bc while jean doesn't always describe kevin in a favorable light (kevin abandoned him in the nest, kevin's an idiot for thinking he can separate himself from the ravens, etc) jean still always seems to describe kevin in this almost untouchable light? like through his pov kevin is shown to be kind, confident, and full of empathy. idk, it really stood out to me
neil's kevin is exy obsessed but detrimentally scared. jean's kevin is exy obsessed, but also someone who yearns for the good in people (his high esteem of the trojans as well as his unfaltering determination for jean to escape the ravens and come out on top even when jean himself doesn't believe in it)
neil's kevin is an unstable alcoholic, jean's kevin is a rock that he refuses to rely on, but who is there nonetheless
neil thinks kevin is too overtly cautious. jean thinks kevin is too foolishly & idiotically brave
i know they're both biased narrators, and that neither of them have all the facts on kevin (and lord knows they both have their own shit going on that makes them not pay full attention) but it's really interesting. i'm rotating them in my microwave
After his hand was broken, even though Riko's plano would be to have Kevin watch as he got everything they both dreamed of, there was a very real chance Tetsuji would consider keeping Kevin alive and unable to play as a waste. Killing him and saying he killed himself after he broke his hand would be really easy.
It makes It even more ironic the fact that Riko got his arms broken and was killed. In a way he was the one to get Kevin's destiny.
Some thoughts on Kevneil in TKM
I was looking for something else, but after I skimmed through TKM, I wanted to comment on Neil and Kevin’s relationship.
So after the Nest, Neil is in terrible condition. He loses time on at least two separate occasions as he falls asleep without meaning to and wakes up thinking too much time has passed. There is also a hint that Riko’s torture with knives might have triggered Neil's trauma related to his father. Kevin offers support and does his best to stop Neil from hurting himself more than he already is. This is before the famous “dosen't mean I wouldn't blow you” scene.
Then, the bloody birthday incident happens. Neil freaks out so much that he attacks Aaron the best way he knows, and makes sure that it hurts because Aaron correctly deduces that the reason Neil doesn’t want anyone to know about the incident is that he is in hiding. Kevin helps Neil out, much to Neil’s surprise.
But this incident is the breaking point of Kevneil, basically.
