Painting some bugz
I’ve recently started a new project to try and make myself draw more by cutting down on thinking time. I’m drawing all the threatened and endangered animals in Queensland, starting with frogs. Here’s a Cooloola Sedge Frog (Litoria cooloolensis), near threatened, in pencil.

Making wrapping paper for Christmas pressies
This started as an experiment to get better acquainted with guoache, and to try a more stylised approach to animals, as my default is to go with realism and detail. Sooo, pretty dinos! It became a bit of a series, so here are the carnivores - a Spinosaurus, Alosaurus, and Velociraptor.
A bit of a break from birds with sea creatures! I did these a while back in watercolour pencil on some rather crappy non-watercolour paper (don’t know what I was thinking). I might go back to this and make a series out of it
An Eastern Yellow Robin. A common sight on the east coast of Australia, but always a treat nonetheless, and a favourite of mine!
A sad pigeon for a dreary day
Another sketch, this time of Red Browed Finches. I was lucky enough to see some at a place called Spring Bluff bear Toowoomba. It was a bit like bird heaven, I got to see a few new birds that day
Some warm up sketches
