A good video that accurately explains why stud is a term used for black lesbians only, not white, not poc, BLACK
I’m not even going to say please. Respect black identities and labels, they are ours for a reason.
Imma need this reblogged by white queer tumblr users since it’s mostly yall who wanna use it or want to know why you or other white people shouldn’t/can’t use the term “stud”
[video description: a tiktok made by @/callmekellin, responding to a comment that reads “what does being black have to do with being a stud …….”
the person in the video is a fem presenting black person in their car. they say “i love that you asked, lemme give you a little history lesson. full disclaimer, no hate to the commenter, i’m just giving everybody a bit of a debrief! now firstly, let’s talk about where the term stud actually comes from.
back in the days of slavery, when people still used to refer to us as animals, black people that were taller were known to be stronger because they could do more work. so down in the south, they started comparing us to horses. that then coined the term[s] studs for men, and stallions for females. like megan thee stallion. it was really big in the south. to compare us to animals.
but enough about the bleach brigade, let’s actually get back into the history. as you know, or if you don’t know, black women were not able to enter the working class until well into the 1960s. before then, there was a small populous of women that were still working, even though they technically were not supposed to.
‘how was it possible?’ these women would be dressing more masculine—using binders in order to help put down their chests, dressing more in a male form—and because of the fact that most bleach bandits believed that we, as black women, were already masculine, they got away with it. thus coining the term, in the black community, “stud.” because all the dudes knew, but she was one of the guys. so what did it matter?
any time the chlorine community would come up to black people and be like “hey! is that a female working!?” the guys would just save her and be like ‘nah, that’s a stud right there.” it was joke to them because they all knew. but as times changed and slang did too, the black community still keeps it close at heart. and yes, it was rooted in racism, but we’re taking it back for ourselves.
so once again, if you’re not a black, masculine lesbian that wants to be called a stud, you’re not a stud. you’re a masculine lesbian. even a butch if you want to. i hope that explained it!” end video description.]
@kneadbees you asked me about what "stud" meant!
Compiled some basic information I know about drawing fat characters for beginners since I've been seeing more talk about absence of really basic traits in a lot of art lately.

showing signs means whatever it means to you- whats the farthest you can look back and understand you showed signs of being or wanting to be another gender?
Okay, granted, it’s been a while since I’ve seen “all trans readers like one kind of fic, and no trans readers ever like another kind of fic, so it is Transphobia when you write the Wrong Kind.”
…but it hasn’t been that long since I’ve seen someone quietly wonder if they’re a Bad Trans Person for having preferences.
So it’s never a bad time to say: different people have different needs, and it’s okay to be fulfilled by different kinds of stories!
(heck, the same person might have different needs at different points in their own life, and that’s okay too)
Name-a-Thon: Water Tribe Resources
When doing research for this Tumblr, I come across a lot of interesting terms and mythological figures that immediately make me think, “That could be a name in Avatar!” so I thought I’d share some resources that could spark some inspiration when naming Avatar OCs.
My general advice would be to use words that are meaningful and relatively easy for an English speaker to pronounce. I also wouldn’t worry about the name being too literal or on-the-nose, most of the names in Avatar are puns that wouldn’t actually be names in real life, anyways.

Dear Hapo-senpai, IS IT TRUE THERE ARE NO RATS IN ALBERTA?????!??!
It sure is true!
I saw a rat for the first time (dead) a few months ago while I was in BC and I was so normal about it!! (I guess it's something considering I have lived in one territory, two non-Alberta provinces and one state and visited numerous other places and had never seen a rat until this year) (well, I may have seen one in BC before but it was too dark out and too fast to confirm whether that's what it was but it did do me a frighten)
but yeah i obviously didn't know anyone with pet rats either so...
some more fun facts: you can get yourself a copy of the YOU CAN'T IGNORE THE RAT poster from places like Vivid Print on Whyte
and Corb Lund has a song called Rat Patrol (obvious warning for descriptions of animal cruelty in some of the lyrics here)
We got rat free status province wide And protectin’ it's a point of provincial pride But if you're telling me we get to send ‘em all straight to hell Goddamn I might have to just join up myself Who you gonna get to get 'em under control? Somebody, anybody call up the rat patrol
It has been confirmed by Hapo herself! Aka who I contact about anything Albertan lol. The genuine shock I felt when I learned about this fact. While I mostly see mice I've seen rats. So to learn
Plus this map.
Alberta being blue surrounded by red. A quick mention of this post I found by chance.
As a brown trans boy it sucked so badly to watch those “gender envy” slides on tik tok and see only white boys with fluffy hair. It was a little thing but it made me feel invisible even in my own community. So these are men that look like me and give me gender envy. If you’re POC disabled/ don’t see your self in common trans discussions feel free to add on.
My old edits of Ukraine wearing a more accurate (simplified) traditional costume in comparison to the Sharovarshchyna-like clothes she has on in the original
Sharovarshchyna is basically pseudo-ethnic clothing that has nothing to do with Ukrainian national wear, and only pretends to be ethnic through kitsch elements. Sooo... something like this:
Fancy a go at winning some free hetalia stickers? Since zine preorders are open from the US and UK based stores, we're having a giveaway! Four free vinyl stickers that go along with the transatlantic usuk zine :3
Or purchase the zine and some stickers here, profits all go to the trussell trust
My drawing for @hws-telephone can also be seen here!
This was honestly so fun to draw and had a blast!!!
GROUP 1 HAS REACHED THE FINISH LINE!!!!
With our theme of "glamour" for round 1, @umahumahumah started us off with a drawing of Prussia! It has been so fun to watch the illustration evolve as it change hands -> We've seen each side of Prussia's face and his drink changed hands twice!
Everyone did a fantastic job. Thank you all for your patience, as I know organizing something like this isn't easy when everyone's got their own things going on and an uncertain schedule doesn't make things easy.

Woooooo! Looks great and it was so much fun!
