The New Year – Make Your Own Happiness

Check out themoneyclubsite.org for articles and holiday shopping ideas.
Well, we are in the Holiday Season and as we all know, it is such a busy time of the year for everyone, whether it is physically walking around the stores shopping or mentally figuring out presents and meal preparations. It is a wonderful time of the year and exhausting to say the least.
For people with chronic illnesses it is a time to be very careful with the use of all of your energy being absorbed in Christmas shopping, wrapping, cleaning and holiday entertaining. Beware of getting rundown from overdoing. Always remember the consequences of your particular illness when you overdo. We all know them, from being so exhausted you can barely get out of bed, to the intensity of your illness escalating and making you very sick. Beware and don’t be foolish. DON’T OVERDO!
“For many wonderful years I did everything at holiday time and worked full time too. I loved having my house filled with family, grandchildren running around, presents and good food. Yes, it was a lot of work but I loved it. When my illness hit, it was as if a light shut off inside of me. My energy was gone; I never felt well; I couldn’t do or enjoy these things anymore. It was devastating to me.”
As I have stated before, I have nontuberculous mycobacterium avium complex of both lungs with bronchiectasis. (Nontuberculous mycobacterial disease (NTM) lung disease is a devastating chronic illness mostly affecting women. NTM is a naturally occurring environmental pathogen which impacts tens of thousands of people every year in the United States alone. The bacteria are widely found in the environment, including soil and tap water, which means people can become infected through everyday activities such as showering and gardening.)
Thank goodness for my children who took over the holidays and do a wonderful job of it and I am able to enjoy time with my family during the holiday season. Please have a happy and healthy holiday season. Sit down and let someone else take over.
