Paper Roses by Rooftops Revolution

The game is still very much WIP, missing all of its CGs and using placeholder sprites for minor characters, and lacking several planned aspects such as sleepovers and dates. It has several bugs still, and will be updated as it goes along.

Story:

In a world with kings and queens, and eyes that change colour when they meet with their soulmate pair… to put it quite simply, Kira was just about average. She worked as an average artisan, boring grey eyes, never been in love and worked tirelessly on a valueless trade of selling paper engagement roses. The one thing that remained interesting in her life is her best friend, Robin. When everything she cares about is about to be stripped away, Kira is left to decide whether her own happiness is worth it at others’ expense.

Features:

- Plan week-by-week how to spend your time and raise your relationship point with the love interests.

- Three major love interests at least one more planned for the future.

- Get one of several endings based on who you romance.

- Voice acting for all major characters

About:

Paper Roses is the buggy Alpha NaNoRenO project for the PC and Mac. It was my first time ever touching Ren’py, so it’s still buggy and still lacking, based on the time I had to make it.

The game can be played through, but is missing all of its CGs, including important ones. The King and Queen are placeholder sprites and Iris has a placeholder route until I write her real one.

Paper Roses: Scheduling

One of the very few non-story details of PR is the ability to schedule Kira’s life. This changes her stress levels and advances time. You can also go on a date with Kierce, Iris, Robin or Creed, and spend time with Luvina (The non-love interest)

The GUI is still in progress as the stress bar isn’t up, ‘days’ should read ‘weeks’ and it’s missing two characters.

PR is an otome VN coming out at the end of the month for NaNoRenO with 1 female love interest and 3 male love interests. It takes place in a fantasy alternate universe.

We’re still looking for 3M/2F voice actors for the major roles in PR.

We’re happy to finally share this with you! Petals is our animated thesis film about an idealistic bunny, a cynical cat, and a flower that ties their lives together. It was designed as a tool to promote moral and environmental values in children, and it was released on November 29th, 2016.

Petals was created by my partner Kay Dominguez and myself, Andie Gallo, with an original score composed by Stijn van Wakeren. Kay and I worked together on the story and animation, and then he worked separately on the storyboards, character designs and inking, while I was in charge of color, lighting, and background designs.

Here Comes a Thought - the Demo

Hey guys,

I’d like to make a quick reminder in light of a few things that have happened recently. We all have a level of comfort as to what we share online to other people and I’d like to remind everyone to please not disrespect others by harassing them for their number, asking for where they live or looking them up on social media when asked not to. For the last year, I’ve felt rather unsafe and uncomfortable in the community I created and that to me is terrifying on its own; formal interactions turned horror story and now it’s reached new extremes that I cannot handle. Making friends used to be the best part of Celestial Dance but it’s been scary and I don’t know what to do... 

I’m sorry for having to make this post… Just please remember to respect others privacy and space. Thanks everyone.

I sometimes feel embarrass about saying this. I am 20 yrs old & never had a boyfriend, 1st kiss, or been on a date. Most of the people I know have been or currently in relationships. I am not attractive at all & lack social skills. Is there something wrong with me? Should I feel embarrass about this or not let it get to me? There is NOTHING wrong with you. And what do you mean, you aren’t attractive? I’m sure you’re awesome and beautiful, even if you don’t see it yourself, and I’m sure that there are others who see that too!

Now to answer the question: should you be embarrassed? Definitely not! Romantic relationships are not a race. Some people get their first partner at 12, some (like my father) at 36. Don’t compare yourself to others! The experiences we gain in life are meant to be unique to each different individual, not meant as competition to see who does what first. Your journey is unique, and if it entails starting romantic things after the age of 20, that’s fantastic!

When romance does start in your life, it’ll be at the time it’s meant to start. So don’t worry. Live in the moment and rejoice in what’s going on for you now. And please don’t forget that you’re beautiful!

Okay, personal drabble here PLEASE skip this, but I still need to write. I’m kind of crying reading this, because I didn’t ask this to the advice blog and yet this is exactly what I would ask. It is EXACTLY me. 

This is something I’ve been feeling for the last three years of my life. Yesterday, I felt it again. and again. The amount of anxiety I get for being a twenty year old in this situation is something I don’t really talk about to anyone and yet it’s a constant factor for my self-consciousness. The thing is, I have self-confidence, and I can say I love myself finally but this is the most weakening and numbing thing for me. It’s more of an insecurity than my body, my skin tone or anything. 

This is exactly my situation, and this post really did bring something out that I really needed. I really want to reblog this in case anyone else is in my situation. It sounds so small when I say it, but how can it feel so big?
