IF I SPEAK
oh my god
thinking about madeline ashton's sex tape and her proudly announcing that she pays to keep it online and i know it's just a throwaway joke in the show but i'm constantly thinking about a version of the story where she is not actually the one to release it on purpose but it in fact did get leaked against her will as you'd typically expect when things like that happen but the actual subversion is that she has to tell herself that she actually wants it out there and it's Good publicity for her so she is very vocal about wanting to keep it up online because that's the only way she can feel okay about it like it's not a violation as long as you can convince yourself you're in control of the narrative and the way you're being seen. very deborah vance burned down her husband's house of her. very me in high school back when i was dating boys and the teenage boy gossip mill is a hellish meatgrinder designed to chew girls up and spit them out 😔
oh my god just remembered previews falling apart suicidal madeline ashton who desperately wanted to wrest control of the narrative back from helen so bad that she was like what if i just killed myself in front of everyone to change the trajectory of their lives forever GOD i miss you so much baby you are so perfect and precious to me………… they're laughing and i can't control it! i had the spotlight and she stole it!!! don't let them see you cry, don't let them see the pain, maybe i should DIE then they'd see my name!!! cue the camera flashes, view madeline's life in ashes. i'm done, you win, i can't restart! 'cause it's all falling apart!!!!!!!
happy falling apart friday <3 suicidal madeline ashton falling apart friday save me <3333
anyways. let's all hold hands and fallingapart kill ourselves together <3
HACKS 4.09 - "A Slippery Slope" // "Thank Goodness" from Wicked
Replied to a recent comment on a fic that I wrote years ago and then took the time to revisit previous comments and I say this with complete sincerity:
Leaving a comment on a fic provides compounding delight. Authors will love initially receiving a comment, will love later recalling this and that particular aspect of a comment, and they will love rereading comments and being reminded how readers enjoyed the work.
Comments are not a one-time act of kindness and consideration. They keep giving.
Thank you to those who take the time to give a nice word, describe an excited reaction, point out favorite parts, and generally let it be known that not only has the work been read but it had some effect. :)
My favorite brand of people are musicians who hear Rush Fucking E, which isn't technically meant to be played by a human at all, and immediately picking up their instrument and going 'bet'.

JENNIFER SIMARD as HELEN SHARP in Death Becomes Her on Broadway
I need her so bad it's not even funny anymore :(
big fan of when you peel back all layers of a character and at the bottom of it there's love
why are they doing this? because they loved someone so much it caused the plot to happen. Grief counts btw
ESPECIALLY a big fan of when this isn't enough to make them a good person
nosferatu? no. tuferatu. no es mi problema.
no mi circo no mis feratus
@limebastard and I won lottery tickets for Death Becomes Her so of course we had to drive 3.5hrs each way and we just got to our seats and can't stop screaming we're center orchestra I can't wait to see Betsy's take on Madeline and Ximone is on as Viola tonight and AHHHHHH
Ok I have lots of thoughts:
-Betsy plays Madeline SO differently than Meg did and while that's not necessarily a bad thing I will say I definitely prefer Megan's take on the character.
-Ximone as Viola oh my god. Her voice is incredible and has such a richness to it that I really enjoyed. Also looooved that you can still see her tattoos through her sheer dresses.
-Seeing Jennifer Simard from like 11 rows away... I am a changed person. The book launch red dress reveal good lord... when she does the "feels good to get that off my chest" boob bongos we could literally hear the sound of the smacks that the mic wouldn't normally pick up. She's also just such a vocal powerhouse I'm in awe. Let's Run Away Together sounded almost exactly as it does on the cast recording which is a feat considering this was the last show of a 5 show weekend.
-Christopher Sieber I love you and all of your silly goofy choices as Ernest. The Plan isn't necessarily in my top 3 when listening to the recording but when seeing it performed it's one of my favorite scenes of the whole show.
-Josh was on as Stefan and Taurean was on as Chagall which is such a treat to see both of them in those roles. They both have some fun lines and comedic moments.
-lots of new ensemble members which is cool! I absolutely love the choreography in this show and especially all of the Immortals big dance numbers are just mesmerizing to watch.
-the wedding sponsor was "Lyft... your friend that has a car!" and the tomorrow plans were "let's go scare some children"
Anyway I'm exhausted since we got home around 1:45am and it was close to 3 by the time I showered and fell asleep but I luckily don't have work today and I'm sooooo grateful for the opportunity to see this amazing show for pretty cheap (plus the cost of parking, gas and tolls but still not bad) and that I got to share it with my theater obsessed friend 💜

Opened insta and got an ad for a Megan Hilty concert at a small theater in MA an hour from my house on the weekend before my birthday... oh the ticket was purchased without a second thought
You ever see something innocuous, minding its own business on the clearance shelf at Michael’s and before you know it, it takes over your life for a few weeks?
So it was with this desktop greenhouse.
I took it home and after taking an appropriate time to “season” my idea in my mind (read: a month or two) I set to make my vision of a mini botanical garden a reality.
I started by removing the heavy glass panels and building a raised floor above the latch. I wanted to use the base as a foundation on the building.
I wrapped the foundation in plastic stone textured flooring (meant for Christmas villages) and built a pond at one end of the same. I then gave it a more realistic paint job and designed a rough layout for my plants and displays.
I also knew I wanted to make the ironwork significantly more intricate, but I wasn’t sure how just yet…
Up next - PLANTS! I went wild making all kinds of plants. Some were specific species and some were more conceptual.
I made several trees with polymer clay and moss, cacti out of beads and flocking, cattails out of raffia, hot glue and coffee grounds, and giant monstera leaves out of paper and wire.
This part should have taken me a long time, but it really came together fast. I loved finding ways to replicate natural shapes and patterns using bits of this and that.
I did make adjustments to my plans as I went like eliminating benches in favor of a simpler overall design.
Then I needed to fill my pond with water. For this I used resin. Lily pads were added to the top layer, and I wired in simple LED fairy lights. The batteries are kept in the box under the foundation.
In a weekend frenzy I added more plants, metal (paper) steps, new (plexi)glass windows, a roof, wrought-iron vines (paper again), doors that open, and a hose reel disguising the latch. Suddenly, a project I thought would take months was finished…
I love my desktop botanical garden. Right now it sits on a simple lazy Susan in my office. But I’d love to get it a proper display box to protect from dust.
Thank you for coming on this little journey with me. This piece packs a lot of joy into a tiny space. I always love building miniatures, and I’ll be doing more in the future I’m sure.
