The Year of the Snake is a concept album, inspired by my experiences in the year 2013 ... The Year of the Snake. The album begins with songs that are influenced by the breakdown of a friendship group and touches on the usual ingredients that ruin relationships, partying too hard, egos, poor mental health. The middle section focuses on an intense friendship that flits between love and hate, paranoia and confusion. The end is the final straw in a weird year, happiness is found briefly but it is fleetingly. The events of the year 2013, and years of mental health problems, came to a head and I hit rock bottom ... but the only way you can go from the bottom is up and thats the way I went. This album is like a diary of 2013, it's just a story to me now, but I've turned it into a sonic painting to share with the world. I hope you enjoy it.
