I talked with someone who works in book publishing, and they mentioned they get a lot of AI slop these days. I asked how they know what's human-written, and they said that there's one thing that will reveal AI slop without error, and that's the author not knowing their own creation.
A real author can talk about their story for hours. They love to elaborate every character, every twist, every detail. Because those existed in their head long before they ever made it to the paper. They were loved before they were written.
AI slop wasn't. It was just vomited into existence.
Someone who generates their story with AI will never bond with their story the way real writers do. That's why they may not know what to say when they're asked why did the character do this, or even remember the scene in the first place. It's something they read, not something they wrote. And to a writer, those are not the same.
There's a unique bond between the creator and the creation. If your writing doesn't come of you, you'll always lack that.
I keep hearing soon we won't be able to tell. And perhaps, in a superficial sense, that's true. But there is a difference. It's not em dashes or repeated words. It's whether the story was made by someone who loves it and cares about it.
If the writer's eyes light up when asked why did the character do that? and they start their very own Ted Talk about that specific scene...
then it's real.

Shredded cheese sold at major retailers, including Target, Walmart, and Aldi, has been recalled in 31 states and Puerto Rico, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The cheese, produced by Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc., was initially recalled on Oct. 3 for containing metal fragments, which pose the risk of internal injury if consumed. On Dec. 2, the FDA updated the risk level to Class II, the second-highest, meaning the chances of serious health consequences are "remote," but there is a possibility of temporary or reversible effects.

Do you guys ever think about how the Fire nation is seen as the only faction that went crazy after the avatar left when really, every faction was driven to the extreme version of themselves without Aang?
The Fire nation was just the most obvious because without someone to guide them fire did what it does best, spread. Fire is the clan of Power so they let it consume them, they could not have power without taking it from others which is why it became a problem for all the other factions.
Earth, the people of Substance, were also out of control. They clung to their traditions and fought every change Aang tried to bring to them. Places like Ba Sing Se were able to exist, a stale fortress that literally killed to keep things the same.
And the Water clan, the people of Change, were consumed by their flexibility. Spreading their people too thin over the world, forgetting culture they lost their community. They threw their warriors into war, chasing just the slimmest chance of a change in circumstances, which is how great tribes like Katara and Sokka's lost their strength.
Basically what I'm saying is, everything did not change when the Fire nation attacked, the big event that caused all the chaos was the avatar leaving. Fire sought Power, Earth clung to Substance, Water could only Change. All the factions became the "extreme" versions of themselves, fire was just the easiest to see.

Here's some art tips from a (mostly) self taught artist that aren't just "practice a lot ^_^"
Most paid premade art courses (i.e lessons are youtube videos/written lessons) are a waste of money. They go through the same fundamentals everyone does and tend to talk about concepts and terms originating from popular books such as andrew loomis' bibliography or james gurney's color and light. just buy (or pirate) the books about the topic you wish to learn about instead.
in contrast, art courses that focus on tutoring you, even if not 1:1 (i.e its a class) are extremely valuable. they are very expensive though so I won't act like you Must do them.
in the same vein of premade art courses, most tutorials/youtube videos are also information from books of art masters through insane degrees of separation. They're free so its not like theyre bad but they slowly erase any nuance and educational lessons that the books offered in trade for being easy to put in a 10 minute video. they may be good introductions but if you ever feel like they dont give much that's why.
the reason why "just practice" feels unhelpful is because each area of art has multiple methods of practicing it, some of which are not interchangeable, and are not common knowledge. here's some ways I practice:
precursor practice that helps you in all areas -> learning about shapes. the volume of boxes, cylinders, spheres, how they move in 3d space, how they can be cut, interpolated, etc. put them in a perspective grid, try layering shapes and cutting them up.
human anatomy -> learn about muscle and bone placement, and how they move. study the shapes and planes of the body, what is hard vs soft. gesture drawing if youre stuck on poses and dynamics
light and shadow -> learn to simplify objects via planes and how those planes are illuminated, where the light positions itself and why (is it the sun? a lantern? a lightbulb?), learn about the science of light such as the different types of shadow and how light bounces. pick up photos and find the light source.
its fine to take long breaks from art. drawing everyday is not super useful and only works for a few people. yes youll have rust but its very easy to shake it off.
if you learn how to get joy from the action of drawing over the results of drawing, studies will feel less like a chore and youll be less reliant on an art piece turning out good to not feel miserable.
if the only art community you have is your followers/social media you will go crazy. your audience has no obligation of enjoying every single piece of yours and alienating them will make things worse. find actual art friends where you can have conversations about your art so you dont feel so reliant on social media numbers.
appreciate art that isnt other illustrative art. find joy in abstract sculptures, architecture, music, novels, the world around you etc.
yes materials help a lot but if you dont have experience then you'll not see a big difference in output. you also need to learn to use those materials before being able to draw how other artists do.
no matter how good you are, you will always make art that you see as bad/lower quality. those artists you think only make bangers are still feeling bad because some of those bangers are not good to them. learn to come to terms that nothing you make will be a hit or satisfy you, and move on.

The whole concept of migraine triggers is just perfectly suited for making disabled people who are already suffering waste time & energy obsessing over every single thing they do every day, especially their diets, and to then blame themselves for their attack like their problem is a lack of discipline & willpower and not the fact that they have a chronic illness. If you get migraines, that isn't because your lifestyle & diet isn't sufficiently optimized, it's because you have a migraine disorder.
My neurologist didn't waste any time trying to get me to identify triggers and just got me on the right meds as soon as she could and I'm so glad she never made me feel like it was somehow my fault.
I'm now finally on a preventative that works for me & I literally don't do anything differently but I went from having daily migraines to sometimes not having a single one for over a week. I could do & consume every supposed trigger & still not get a migraine, when before the medication, I could do everything "right" every day for a week & still get a migraine every single day.
It's always like it's a medical disorder that causes your body to react badly to certain normal daily things & the goal should be to make it do that less, not to find ways to totally avoid all those normal daily things.
Yeah...they're caused by migraine disorders. Because people without them don't get migraines on a regular basis.
The chocolate advice is probably bullshit too. Unless you specifically identify it as something that makes your migraines worse (unlikely), it's way more likely to just be a common craving people have during the prodrome phase before the pain starts. If it's your body signaling you that it wants chocolate, there's no reason not to eat it.
Also, my neurologist said if you take triptans, take them during the headache phase immediately when it starts, not during the aura.
This isn't just my opinion btw, it's the current state of migraine research that shows that a) evidence for the belief that specific foods can trigger an entire migraine in someone who would've otherwise not had it is just not there and b) people are prone to misidentifying "triggers" and c) some "common triggers" have been shown in research to have protective qualities against migraines in some people and finally, d) the most up to date approach is to, instead of chasing possible triggers, raise your migraine threshold, which for some people can be achieved only with medication, but stuff like exercise & a nutritious diet could possibly also help you become more resistant too, once your threshold has been raised enough that you have the spoons for it, that is.

If you're a chronic migraine haver please please learn to ignore all of that. There's always going to be people claiming that doing keto/paleo/gluten-free or cutting out seed oils/sugar/MSG and taking 15 different supplements cured their chronic illness and migraine is much the same. I'm not saying they're lying, they can absolutely believe that's what happened but it doesn't mean any of that is going to work for you nor do you have to try it.
I had some of my worst most painful headaches while on strong painkillers, at the hospital, eating only bland low sodium vegan hospital food and getting fluids straight into my veins because apparently, the stress of surgery & recovery made my migraine disorder worse. Despite me being on Emgality. That's just what being chronically ill is like sometimes, there's not much you can do. Some of us can't self-optimize ourselves out of it, despite what every armchair neurologist & dietitian seems to think.
Sometimes the stress of constant headaches & migraines is what's causing your migraines because it's an evil disorder.
