warnings: one censored swear. other than that Adrian’s pretty sarcastic
an: this is a continuation of this story. this one is more dialogue focused. there are more characters now and this is from Peter’s pov. enjoy!
“Somebody’s having a great afternoon.” Really? How could you tell? I think as I flop down on the bottom bunk.
“It will be great when I push you out of that chair and delete your saves. Isn’t it my turn anyway?” I say although muffled. Adrian turns the volume down on his game and turns around in his chair. He kicks my duffle bag out of the way.
Adrian curls an eyebrow at me. “From what I remember, you said you’d be gone for the whole night. Also, you do know these are your saves too, right?”
“Honestly, whatever. Probably won’t get up til morning anyways.” I grunt and turn around.
“Alright,” Adrian sighs and crosses his arms. “Are you just gonna lay there like an idiot or do you wanna talk about it?”
“Talking about it makes it true.” I muster some motivation to get up and face Adrian.
“Well knowing you, it’s probably your fault either way.”
“I just don’t understand why Kiara hates me now. Yesterday we were perfectly fine but just now she blew up at me and walked out. I don’t get it.” I huff out and walk around our shared room.
“Like I said, it’s probably your fault.” Adrian thinks for a little bit then starts again. “Think this has something to do with you talking to Bela yesterday?”
“Why would that have anything to do with it?”
“Nothing really. Just that Bela tries to make fun of Kiara any chance she gets.”
“Well, I never gave her anything to work with. You know I wouldn’t do that. It’s not like she can get much from just me saying her name.”
“She can and will do exactly that and more. Don’t you think mentioning Kiara would garner some attention?” He asks like I’m an idiot for not getting it by now. I might be, honestly.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about dude.” I wave my hand, almost done with the conversation and sit back on the bed.
“Just think about it. I know you can't come to conclusions on your own.”
“But that doesn't-” Then it clicks. I knew Bela was smiling for a different reason. My mind goes back to yesterday and remembers seeing one of Bela’s friends talking to Kiara. She didn't seem happy but I didn’t know that it was my fault. “Oh sh*t.”
“I have to go talk to Kiara. She probably thinks I'm a huge jerk now.” I race to put on my shoes and grab a hoodie to go out.
“It’s not too far from the truth.” I really didn’t need Adrian’s sarcasm right now. “Besides, it might be too late now.” The clock reads 7:15pm and is ticking down to curfew.
“Don’t care. Still have to try.” I almost trip over nothing in my hurry. “God, I hope she’s still outside.”
“I’ll be here if you fail.” Yeah, discouraging, I know. Unfortunately that’s just how Adrian wishes good luck to people. It always works though and I'm hoping the streak continues tonight.
