feeding the weyler as romeo and juliet agenda once again
Writing villains people actually fear (and remember)
It’s not about darkness. It’s about a precise use of habits and small things, their behaviour both when acting the villain and not.
1. Give them a contradiction.
Villains are scariest when they’re almost human. It's alot harder to harm, or even kill, when you can the part of them that is kind.
“He always apologised before hurting someone.”
2. Let them think they’re right.
No moustache twirling ('mustache twirling villain' is often used as a pejorative to describe poor antagonists/bad guys, usually they in comedy) — just conviction. Their ideals and values should stem from something important to them. Doesn't have to be important or make to others, just them.
“I’m not saving the world. I’m correcting it.”
3. Give them a normal habit that becomes unsettling.
• humming off-key
• straightening objects mid-argument
• collecting people’s abandoned pens (this was something I got from primary school where I watched someone collect them and i thought it was evil they were stealing pens😭)
4. Make their kindness selective.
Kind to dogs. Cruel to friends.
Kind to children. Absent to their own.
This really adds to their character and backstory, even if you don't elaborate or tell it.
5. Make their presence change a room.
Not with theatrics — with tone.
“The laughter thinned when he stepped inside.”
Making antagonists who aren’t evil (but still hurt you emotionally)
Some of the best antagonists are just… people.
1. Give them the same goal as the hero — different methods.
Hero wants peace.
Antagonist wants peace.
Hero uses unity; antagonist uses control.
2. Let the antagonist be right sometimes.
That stings.
3. Make the hero almost agree with them.
“You’re not wrong,” she admitted. “But you’re not right either.”
4. Show glimpses of softness.
“He tucked the child’s drawing into his coat.”
5. Let them break their own rules.
Instant complexity, villains change the rules to fit their momentary desires and whims.
(Edit: ive written this up from a book that ive been filling with writing tips and tricks from classes, im putting here a few pages from it
So I get it, I need to change how I format things 😭)

🕊 Nadin’s Hope: A Mother, A Memory, A Future
Hello, my name is Nadin. I’m from Gaza. I’m a graphic design graduate, a wife—and now, a mother.
I finished my design studies just before the war began. I had dreams of starting a small studio, of creating art that told stories. I used to think about colors and fonts and the future.
Then, the war came. And the future became something we tried to hold onto, moment by moment.
On October 22, 2023, I learned I was pregnant when a missile destroyed my husband’s family home, killing 25 members—his mother, siblings, nieces and nephews—entire branches of our family in seconds.
We were displaced twice. Everything was gone—home, safety, routine, rest.
A few weeks later, I gave birth to our daughter. There was no crib, no celebration—not even stillness. But she arrived, quietly and beautifully. In her eyes I saw something I hadn’t felt in weeks: life that still wanted to grow.
Now, our days are shaped by decisions that could dismantle the future we are trying to build together.
Today, Israel’s government is discussing plans for a full military occupation of the Gaza Strip, including Gaza City and southern regions. The stated aim: to eliminate Hamas and later hand governing control to allied Arab forces—not Israel—but with no clear path to peace or normalcy.
The humanitarian fallout is devastating. More than 61,000 Palestinians have died in this war; hunger and malnutrition are rising sharply. Hospitals in north Gaza have shut down, and 193 people have now died of starvation, nearly half of them children.
Aid remains blocked, water is scarce, and many risk dying of hunger or disease long before future promises arrive.
We Don’t Know What Comes Next There’s no clear path forward—only uncertainty for our daughter’s life and our ability to survive another day.
My name is Nadin, and I’m a mother from Gaza.
How You Can Help I’m asking for support—not for comfort, but for survival:
Help us meet basic needs so we can breathe, heal, and preserve a world for our daughter.
Support us as I try to stand again on my own feet—even a glimmer of stability matters.
If you’ve read this far, thank you. If you can give—thank you. If you can’t—just sharing this post is a lifeline I will never forget.
I think I finally figured out why Wednesday fell for Tyler in S1.
“You’re not scary, you’re just kooky”
Wednesday saw Tyler as one of the few people who truly considered and completely accepted her for who she is.
In season 2 during the body swap episode, Enid (as Wednesday) said that Wednesday is still somewhat afraid that Morticia couldn’t accept her for who she really is. Wednesday is a lot more darker and difficult than the rest of the Addams family, to the point that she believes her OWN mother couldn’t handle who she truly is as a person.
Wednesday hates how the school tries to put her on a pedestal, praising her because they decided to box and label her as the “hero” that she wasn’t. Xavier claims to “be with her since day 1” but constantly dismissed her theories and couldn’t care less about the mystery she was trying to solve. And when things turned ugly between them with Wednesday unable to reciprocate his feelings, suddenly it’s “what”s to like? (about her)” and “You’re toxic, all you do is make things worse.” Like she wasn’t already bad news from the start??
Meanwhile, Tyler straight up just said “I believe you.” Then proceeded to help her and genuinely show interest in her investigations while looking like the most normal guy in town with his stupid flannel and fuckass barista job.
Even Enid wished she was a little “less Wednesday” sometimes and encounters difficulty with how harsh, dangerous and sociopathic Wednesday can be. But Tyler, on the other hand, never seemed to mind. He believed her theories when she thought she was losing her mind. Saved her from Sheriff Galpin in the woods because he knows she was investigating. He was even the one explaining HIMSELF like “I know you’re a Nevermore outcast with a severed hand for a family member, but pretty please don’t find me weird for stalking my dad.”
Tyler smiled at the idea that she was obsessed with the monster in the woods rather than horses and boybands. Smiled at the fact that she threw piranhas in a swimming pool as a murder attempt (when even Ajax and Enid found it disturbing). In fact, Tyler was the one constantly trying to explain himself to her—why he stalks his dad or why he did that lousy prank on Xavier. In their dynamic, Wednesday never had to explain herself on why she’s the way she is. There were no “buts” to the way Tyler liked her.
Tyler knew Wednesday’s preferred color palette and made a dark chocolate cake. He knew she refused to be a “slave to technology” so he used traditional things like a lamp and old film projector for their date. He knew actual horror and gore wouldn’t scare her, so he chose Legally Blonde instead. Held their date at a crypt because he knows she’s spooky like that. He KNOWS her and didn’t bat an eye. Tyler not only knew all her weird and dark quirks, he likes her FOR it.
When Wednesday reasoned that she actively put him in danger, he basically said “Lol I’m tough and can handle myself.” She’s aware that she had gotten people hurt for being close to her, and this normie remains unfazed and doesn’t even seem to notice all these “downsides” of being with her.
Of course, we can just all discard this as manipulation but even in their confrontation in S2, you can tell that Tyler just never really found her odd at all. He’s smirking at her in that cell spurting comebacks like “this could be us but you playin.” This time, he KNOWS that he’s one of the few people who can equal her darkness but it’s pissing him off that she refuses to acknowledge it.
The fact that Tyler is the only non-Addams Family character in this video only sends messages that he's going to be TYLER ADDAMS soon!
(No hate, seriously no hate like his fine and stuff) the fact that as a clown of a fan with an unhealthy obsession with hints and clues about the movies, shows and shit, i honestly feel really disappointed to think that this could be a possibility while
ENID SINCLAIR EXISTS like
C'mon people
I don't understand these people's obsession with commenting on every Wyler post they see. Nobody interferes with Wenclair's posts so that they bother others every chance they get.
They are more obsessed than those who appear in everything than those who truly support her. They are the meaning of Taylor Swift's "Actually Romantic."
They hate the idea of Tyler and Wednesday so much that they appear in everything.
And I really love Enid, And I love the character and the friendship with Wednesday. I don't understand how she has such an insufferable fandom.
Poor Emma who has to put up with these insufferable people.
God forbid a girl has a hobby
The kind of shit the Addams would have done for family game night on a random Thursday for funsies
As a reminder, Wednesday's is the same girl who :
First, threw pirana into a pool full of athletes, some of them bullies, yes, but others innocent as well.
Second, has nothing against the necrophilia that her uncle Fester enjoys.
Third, doesn't seem bothered by cannibalism either.
Fourth, who enjoys torturing her little brother regularly (including burying him alive, obviously).
Fifth, has no respect for the victims of a serial killer she helped stop (by some illegal methods) because she literally took a doll the killer had made with real human hair from one of his victims to give to Enid.
Sixth, who was willing to torture Tyler with an entire personal arsenal dedicated to that, without having real proof that he was really Hyde.
Seventh, who forgave Agnes for trying to kill Enid to make her her personal assistant.
But Tyler (who underwent grooming to unlock his Hyde) is obviously too much for her ? Like... what show do you watch people ? 😂
I honestly REALLY hope that eventually it's revealed that Wednesday's "hate" for Tyler was never because of the murders, but because of his betrayal by using her.
The Addamses are all about the macabre, death and the unexpected... and other versions have heavily implied that they've committed murders and it's not a big deal for them.
Wednesday straight up started the show attempting one and was disappointed that her attempt failed. Making her be appalled by actual murder just makes her look like an edgy teen instead of the genuinely weird that she should be.
Like genuinely, an unstable murderer is a perfect fit for the Addamses...
(Un)pleasant reminder that ai is not welcome in this space. I don't care how much you want to see Tyler and Wednesday together. Make a bad drawing of them. Make gifs. Make photo collages. Make anything but ai. Our ship isn't worth burning down the planet to churn out slop.
I will never understand anyone who says these two don't have chemistry
I mean, look at them
Andy and Danai got me to watch a whole show simply because I saw a few GIFS of them, the reason I watch TWD is Richonne
This level of chemistry can not be denied, no matter how much some people try, and I need to see more of it, please bring them back to me
that side eye is lethal
Rewatching twd to finally finish it and I had forgotten how much I shipped Rick and Michonne 😭
The slow burn, enemies to allies to friends to lovers (once I get that part)
I'm at S4 where they lost the prison and you cannot tell me Rick was not already in love with her when he's watching her and Carl and smiling this way
The Barbie movie really said. Yes you will grow up and childhood wonder will vanish. Yes you will grow up and learn to hate yourself, your body, your awkwardness. Yes you will grow up and lose your confidence and certainty and sense of purpose. Yes you will grow up and the world will seem a bleaker, lonelier place every day, and society will seem bleaker and lonelier every day, and you won’t understand what went wrong in the span of just a few years, what took you from a happy and secure young girl to a sad, uncertain, scared grown woman.
And yet. You will learn to find beauty again. You will find joy in not having a purpose, in building a purpose for yourself. You will find beauty in connection, with the people and the world around you. You will learn to love signs of ageing as proof of a life well lived, of experience and happiness. You will take that little girl by the hand and tell her “I know, this isn’t what you thought it would be, but it’s real. Let me show you how beautiful it can be.”
Barbie (2023) + the internet
bonus:
RYAN GOSLING "I wouldn't dare Ken-splain the Barbie movie."
“I think that love is stronger than death,” Rey says. “I think Han went to Starkiller Base because you were worth everything, and I think he defied time and space to come to you on Kef Bir for the same reason. And even if he was just a memory then, it still means that the dark side couldn’t cast a shadow over what you carried in your heart.” She leans in close, resting her forehead against his. “You have Han’s strength. You have his spirit,” she breathes along the curve of his cheek. It’s as hushed as only the truth can be, threaded through with the solemnity of the Force. “You are your father’s son.” - Chapter 7 of I Kill Giants by the wonderful, incomparable talent that is @kylorenvevo
Emma Myers on Tyler "PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND TYLER. HE WAS FORCED TO DO THE THINGS HE DID.“
Guys I don’t know what else to say. She is a queen. She is my queen. Team Tyler, it’s time to rejoice and to crown Emma, Queen of Team Tyler’s apologists and non-apologists because he didn’t do anything wrong.
End of story.
