A rather grand chintz in this handsome guest room has been used as a starting point for a collection of interesting details. The gathered pelmets with their deep scallops have been edged with plain red, and the bed ruffle or valance… Matching bed and window treatments were very fashionable in the mid-nineteenth century and have hardly fallen from grace since.
