EXCLUSIVE: Your first look at Connor Storrie in 'Criminal Minds: Evolution.' The 'Heated Rivalry' star plays Lance Kingston, “a charming narcissist with a deep sense of entitlement.”
Bonus : Show director Adam Rodriguez talks about how Storrie was cast and why he went from being a one-episode guest star to having a four-episode arc.
i actually dont care if this makes anyone mad at me or thinks its cringe for me to care this much bc this is straight up Not Right like this should not be happening. this should not be an image we are aware of and we know about it because he is being targeted by people who are using racism and antisemitism as Gotchas and do not actually care about anything beyond how it might hurt him. it is not fucking Right.
This isn't hate or anything I just genuinely am distressed. Have you seen the Hudson photos yet? It's genuinely upsetting.
starting this by saying im not opening a discussion on this topic. this isn't a fandom discourse blog. there are multiple people online talking about this topic who have well thought out, nuanced takes. there are also a lot of people who are using it to spew hatred and vitriol against a poc. the latter is not welcome anywhere near my blog. im very unlikely to reply to any other anons about this or make any other posts. if I get sent hate I will delete it
saying that, I completely understand why you're upset and distressed by this. im never going to tell you how to feel about it. if this image has ruined hudson/hr for you, no one is going to blame you from stepping away. block the tag. unfollow the blogs. do whatever you need to for your own mental health. it's very unfair that you have to do it, but the internet is not a safe space, and if you are upset by this it's completely fair to say nope and walk away
I am not going to be doing that. I'm not going to stop supporting the man hudson is today because a group of people have violated his privacy and dug through millions of posts to find an image of him with a hate symbol (in the vsco of a girl he went to high school with and has not been pictured with since) at a party when he was underage, the only poc at said party, and clearly not sober
am I excusing the symbol or saying it was fine? absolutely not. do I claim to know or understand his decisions and emotions from that night? also no. I can't say definitively that hudson is a good person. I do my best not to be parasocial about people who will never know I exist. but he is outspoken about issues facing poc and queer people. he chose a team of women of colour who he clearly respects, taking every chance to openly support them, and they clearly adore him back. he charms everyone he meets. he still promotes his friends every chance he gets and promotes queer/poc art and literature all the time. and sure, that doesn't mean he's actually a good person, but it definitely doesn't align with the views of someone who would wear that symbol proudly
again. I don't know what happened that night. what led to the symbol being drawn on him. sure. a better person might have seen people drawing it, seen teenage boys with sharpie hitler mustaches and gone "hey. that's not okay. don't do that". that would absolutely be the right thing to do. but as someone who grew up as one of the only poc in a majority white area, if I, at 17, was at a party in the woods with most of my (majority white) class, I wouldn't feel safe enough to say ANYTHING. I'm not going to say he had no idea what was on his face, but I am going to say it wasn't the only thing on there. I am going to say that it looks to have been drawn on with sharpie, which isn't exactly easy to wipe away. I am going to say that the group of people around him, the ones who did these things, don't seem to be in his life anymore
we'd know if they were. because the group of people that found this image would have found that too. we have seen FAR too many images of hudson as a teenager that he did not choose to share. that there is no context to. everyone who has had any connection to him have had their entire online presence dissected by the same group of people
and the people spreading this image (and others) clearly do not care about Jewish people and their pain, because they know how distressing that symbol is and wouldn't be trying to send it to every corner of the internet if they gave a shit about Jewish people. they wouldn't have a blue checkmark on a site owned by an actual out and proud fascist. they just hate hudson and are doing everything they can to take him down
tldr: it's completely fair to be distressed by this. it's fair to be disgusted by it. I am not going to blame you. if this is the line for you, that is completely and totally fair. but think about who hudson is today. if you think he is the type of man who would draw that symbol on himself. yes. people can hide who they are, absolutely. they can create a public image and actually be terrible people behind it. and if you think he is one of those people, and can no longer support him because of it, then that's your perogative
but hudson has shot to stardom at a rate no one expected. and he is using his new fame to uplift and support others, predominantly other queers, poc, and women. he appears educated and respectful and clearly loves acting and storytelling, as opposed to a lot of the fame hungry people in the industry. he's having fun and sending paper airplanes and hotel room oranges to fans because he feels bad for not meeting them personally
and until he does something to show us that this is all an act, I am going to continue to support him, rather than putting his head on a spike for an image from 10 years ago
