"if you pirate a movie, think about all the crew members who won't get paid! doesn't the camera man deserve to eat? not everyone involved is rich!" camera guy already got paid, my dude. he genuinely doesn't care whether the movie is successful. he doesn't get a cut. paycheck is already in his pocket and that's all he's gonna get. he's already moved on to the next gig
Motel Funds for Homeless
My name is Alex! I’m a 21 year old Jewish Latina and I’m currently dating my boyfriend of over a year, Kleyton, a 22 year old Guatemalan immigrant.
I am chronically ill, and I cannot work. I have severe endometriosis and adenomyosis, 4 surgeries over the last 11 years of my life. I’m desperately waiting for the 5th, which has been stopped because of the virus. I’m in constant, bloody, pain and also can’t lift anything, which is why I can’t work. My boyfriend is a very hard worker, a construction man and a mechanic. He lost his construction management job with the corona virus closing down his site.
We have scraped by due to sw, donations, and a gofundme. But something happened Friday. Two of our roommates fought in a very horrid and scary display of domestic violence. She won’t do anything about it, and we can’t stay here waiting for him to beat her again. They’re also furious with us for being present during the event. This event has really harmed us, bringing up things from both of our pasts and making us scared and anxious and unsafe in our own home. We cannot stay here. We can’t be here while it’s unsafe and scary like that, we can’t take it. We have to move.
Because we JUST moved, we don’t have any money to again. And we gotta get out of here ASAP. We have to be some place safe where we can calmly find him work and keep pushing forward. Tomorrow, Monday the 29th, we will be moving into a hotel. We’ll have to pay daily until we find somewhere to go. There is a Super 8 for us to go to, and we’ll need $70 a day plus food expenses and various other things like our $40 phone line. We need help basically escaping here to the motel.
I take PayPal and cash app!! Please please please consider helping us. We’re very unsteady and scared and shaken right now. Reblogs will be so so appreciated, as well as good luck wishes/vibes. Please consider us in this scary time.

Friday July 3rd: still in the motel and still needing help paying for it and food!! my boyfriend is working now but we’re fucked until he gets his first paycheck next Friday!!!
We really need some food lol and I’m not sure how we’re paying for Sunday night in the motel and I’m getting really scared, please please help us if you can we’re just trying to make it to Friday when he gets paid but we’re starving and I’m disabled and need some of my prescriptions too so please please help us if you can, even $1 adds up and we’re so grateful for every bit of well-wishing and sharing this
My doctor just took out $500 worth of back pay I owe her I just lost everything we had been saving to move into an actual room I lost everything and now I’m $226 negative in my account
I HAVE to get this taken care of fast because we have to pay for tomorrow night in the motel room or we will be on the street please please help us we’ll be homeless with two bags of clothes and the shoes on our feet we can’t eat I can’t get my medicine we’ll be on the street
I need $70 for the room and $100 for my medicine !!! please help me!
$50/$170
reminder that when change.org asks you to “chip in’ after you’ve signed a petition, that money does NOT go to the petition organizer or any related fundraiser. change.org uses misleading language like this to trick you into paying them. they’re a for-profit corporation. don’t give them your money, send what you can to verified bail funds / gofundme campaigns / etc. instead

WAYS TO SUPPORT/BE AN ALLY
Here is a compilation of places to donate (IF you can, simply reblogging and sharing this can help) and petition to sign. I found these websites and organizations on twitter.
DONATIONS
THE MINNESOTA FREEDOM FUND: Donate to this to collect funds to pay jail bonds for the protesters who get arrested.
BLACK LIVES MATTER: An organization fighting for the BLM movement. Donate if you can.
BLACK VISIONS MN: an organization that is led by Black, Queer and Trans people. Donate if you can.
NAACP Legal Defense Fund: Fights for the overall equality fight. Donate if you can.
PETITIONS
Willie Simmons has spent 38 years in prison for a $9 robbery. He had two prior convictions similar to robbery that he served time for. He was prosecuted under the Alabama Habitual Offender law and was given a life sentence for his third strike - stealing 9 (NINE) dollars. Sign his petition.
Breonna Taylor was killed by police who were conducting an UNANNOUNCED drug raid, where they gave no request to enter. They bashed her door and entered, shooting her EIGHT times. They were in the WRONG HOUSE.
George Floyd was killed by a police officer who knelt on his neck and suffocated him to death, after George pleaded with the officer and told him he couldn’t breathe. The officer had pulled him from where he sat in his car on an alleged FORGERY. You can also text “FLOYD” to 55156
ARREST THE OFFICERS WHO KILLED GEORGE FLOYD: The main police officer who murdered George is being kept in PROTECTIVE CUSTODY. You probably have heard he was arrested, but this is NOT TRUE. He was placed under PROTECTIVE custody because of the riots and “threats” on his life.
If you know of ANY other organizations or petitions, PLEASE ADD TO THIS LIST. The fight for justice doesn’t end here, it will never end. Especially when the president of the United States calls white supremacists good people and protesters of a mans death THUGS. USE YOUR VOICE. NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE. FUCK COPS. FUCK “BLUE LIVES”. ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER!
the minnesota freedom fund is asking folks to donate to other organizations instead. the specific ones they listed are black visions, linked above, and these two:
northstar health collective, organized healthcare professionals working with anti-authoritarian groups
reclaim the block, a collective that aims to redistribute funding away from police and towards more community-oriented projects in minneapolis
these are the links i send to my facebook friends who keep running their mouths about “the protests hurting the community”
minnehaha food shelf & calvary church food shelf are both centered in the south minneapolis area where the riots started. the grocery stores in the area have been decimated, so food shelves and food insecurity charities need a lot of love right now.
northside funders group is a philanthropic group in the twin cities that’s using all its funds right now for helping local businesses
migizi is a native american media/history nonprofit whose office was destroyed in the riots
we love lake street is devoting funds specifically towards rebuilding the lake street area in south minneapolis
some more groups that could use your help
the healing justice foundation is a national nonprofit that’s specifically focusing on mental health resources for bipoc right now
ctul is a nonprofit focused on low-wage workers and workers rights in minnesota
mpd 150 is focused on policing and specifically trying to reroute the conversation from “we need to change police procedures” to “the police need structural reform”
the spiral collective is providing funds for supplies, medic kits, and other things that protesters will need on the ground
unicorn riot is a media collective that has had people on the ground filming every night in minneapolis
last but not least some more bail funds

the philippines is trending right now and i hope y’all know it’s because our senate passed an “anti terrorism” bill, which basically targets the critics and opposition leaders of the current government. it may impede our freedom of speech and they could basically “allow the police and military to conduct a 60-day surveillance on suspected terrorists and compelling telecommunication companies to disclose their calls and messages”.
on top of this, the philippines doesn’t have mass testing available yet and the enhanced community quarantine has technically ended today, which means thousands of workers are now forced to go to work (even without a proper public transportation system). my mother has just gone to work at the airport and i’m terrified for her safety and health. the coronavirus cases have been increasing constantly and we’re still in the first wave.
update: this is what manila looks like after lifting the enhanced community quarantine
translation: we need your help. our families are starving. we are jeepney drivers and we don’t receive any aid from the social amelioration subsidy (or financial aid from the government)
i know so many things are happening in your own countries, but please keep us in your minds and prayers. 💗
Anyways I'm tired and black and unemployed so allies I would appreciate some funds bc I'm EXHAUSTED and traumatized

bail fund for Minneapolis
Hey guys. Because of the protesting in Minneapolis, there have been a lot of unintentional losses in the twin cities. The building of the Native non-profit Migizi was damaged last night (5/29), and some of their archives were also damaged. If you are able, please take a look at their website and consider donating. I donated 15 dollars, and if you match/exceed my donation and send me a screenshot proving you did, I’ll send you a quick sketch of a character/OC/whatever. Thank you!
