For as long as I've been reading your Kon fics I have desperately wanted him to get hit with some kind of truth effect in front of like the entire league. I just want them to have to listen to him tell them what he thinks of himself is all :)

My fave way to do this kind of thing is Kon not even freaking out about the situation, just resignedly/matter-of-fact-ly stating all the worst shit he thinks about himself thanks to the whole truth-compulsion effect. Because like duh, it’s not like everybody doesn’t already KNOW he’s like that, so what’s it even matter if he’s saying it anyway? Like he doesn’t LOVE that everybody knows he’s like that, no shit he doesn't, but it’s not like it's fucking NEWS to anyone; the shitty part is just that he has to stop acting like HE doesn’t know.

I’m reading reviews of off-brand maxtrax style recovery boards and this review kills me. Imagine being that UPS driver, delivering a package to some guy at the end of this muddy clay road and of course you fucking get stuck and you think “well, my day just went to shit” but then the guy you just made the delivery to busts the package open and pulls out a set of recovery boards and gets you unstuck in one shot, can you even imagine

By all accounts, Hardison pretending to be a trans man in The Cross My Heart Job shouldn't work. I should be like "Wow, this is really insensitive." But, and this is obviously up for debate, I think it does kind of work. Cause the point isn't to make fun of trans people. Hardison doesn't pretend to be some caricature, he just pretends to be a trans man. And it also serves a purpose in the plot. The only ID they could get for him belonged to a woman so he's pretending to be a trans man to get past security, with the comedy of the scene largely coming from the security guys' brains short circuiting upon being loudly accused of being transphobic, allowing Hardison to basically speedrun through the whole encounter while the security guys frantically try to cover their asses.

It also, oddly enough, kind of has a pro-trans message in it. Cause Hardison doesn't just pretend to be a trans man, he pretends to be a proud trans man who will not have you questioning his identity. He is a man and damn you if you think otherwise.

Leverage really did say "trans men are men." They said it through a character pretending to be a trans man, but they did say it.
