the you that remains
there is a game called 1000xRESIST. it’s hard for me to put into words how much this game means to me - it’s not often in life that you get to have a transcendent experience from engaging with art for the first time, but this game is genuinely up there in terms of my favorite things ever made.
when I recommended the game on social media a few months ago, I was able to get in touch with one of the game’s directors Remy Siu, and from that blossomed this official cover art that I did for the vinyl release of the 1000xRESIST OST. Thank you so much to Remy, to Scott from VeryOKVinyl, and to my brother Andrew (who not only introduced the game to me in the first place but also has his art printed as an insert in the vinyl release!!!)
genuinely, if you haven’t heard of this game before, please check it out. it is one of the most compelling stories about intergenerational trauma, political revolution, and retribution/forgiveness that I have ever experienced. it’s bittersweet, dreamlike, tender at times, funny at times, and unafraid to show the full complexity of what it means to be human. it also has a hauntingly beautiful piano/synth soundtrack by Drew Redman and Line Katcho that will stick in your head for weeks afterward. you will not regret it and there’s a good chance that you will be crying real tears by the time that you get to the end.
huge thanks again to Remy and Scott for having me on - getting to do art for this game has genuinely been one of the highlights of my year. link to pre-order the vinyl is here.
