Fire Emblem Awakening: One Last Guide!
Hey everyone! I figured that, with all the new hype for Fire Emblem ifâs impending release, a lot of people have probably been re-motivated to play through Awakening again, as I have. I figured now would be as good a time as any to release one last, comprehensive guide with some new insights.
First up, marriages! Iâm just gonna do a quick outline of what I think are some of the best pairings.
Chrom: FMU (da best), Olivia, Sumia
Lissa: Libra, Henry (generally better to give Henry to Sumia tho)
Sully: whoever is left (Sullyâs mods/class options kinda stink and Kjelle canât get that sweet, sweet Galeforce)
Miriel: Ricken (super powerful, but canât have GF so generally better to give lil Ricky to Maribelle), Libra, Henry, if all of the above are taken: Virion
Maribelle: Ricken (produces one of the best GF magic users in the game), Libra, Henry
Panne: Stahl, Gregor (no GF but GREAT mods, good pair-up unit)
Cordelia: Lonâqu (so, so strong), Gaius, Vaike, Stahl, Gregor⌠sheâs really flexible, but LQ is da best here
Nowi: Donnel, Gaius, MMU (gotta get that GF for the nightmare creature that is Nah)
Tharja: Gaius, Donnel (these two are the best for giving GF, but Noire is generally unfavorable compared to other magic users w/ GF so it isnât a huge deal), Ricken, Libra, Henry
Olivia: Lonâqu, Gaius, Vaike, Stahl, Gregor⌠another really open-ended one, but I personally love Vaike to beef up Inigo
Cherche: Vaike, Stahl, Gregor (another one with awesome mods but no GF, good pair-up unit)
With that out of the way, letâs talk skills! Iâm gonna put all the relevant skills into tiers S-B, with short explanations where necessary. Anything that isnât on the list probably isnât worth running (in my opinion, of course).
S Rank: Aether, Limit Break (duh), Sol, Astra (amazing on difficulties below Lunatic, where it doesnât straight kill you vs. Counter)
A Rank: Rightful King, Ignis, Luna, Aegis (better than Pavise because tomes, yo), Rally Spectrum (totally insane on support units), Aggressor (great on GF units for added power), Resistance +10
B Rank: -faire skills, Pavise, Deliverer, Swordbreaker (very common weapon with high hit and crit chance, good to avoid), Counter, Lifetaker (good recovery, not as good as Sol), Renewal (see Lifetaker), Vantage, Lethality, Dual Guard+/Dual Strike+ (good in higher difficulties when pairing up is essential), Rally Heart, Shadowgift
Notable Mentions: Armsthrift, Veteran, Paragon, Aptitude (all awesome quality of life stuff)
It is also worth mentioning that Lethality and Counter immediately jump up to S Rank for Streetpass teams, as they are essential to punish anyone trying to take on your AI team.
To finish things up here, letâs do a brief class overview. Iâm gonna talk about what I think the best classes for certain situations are.
High SKL/SPD: Swordmaster for lots of crits, Assassin for maximum skill activation, Hero for extra âoomphâ
High STR: Berserker for full on power, Warrior for a good defensive balance, Hero for a good SKL/SPD balance, General or Great Knight for a defensive support focus (assuming the unit also has good DEF mods and access to Aegis)
High MAG: Sage for max damage, Sorcerer for extra longevity
Balanced Offensive Stats: Dread Fighter for full offense, Bride or Grandmaster for support, (do not make a support character w/o access to Rally Spectrum)
