Devotional Collage - Ariadnรช
Pagan Prayer to Ariadne
O Ariadne, divine Mistress of the Labyrinth,
Queen of corners and that which lies behind them,
She who keeps us spry with new things to be found beyond each twist and turn,
You were rescued and wed by the noble Dionysus,
Crowned with stars and oxen horns,
Radiant as the constellations that now adorn your head,
Running wildly across the vineyards with your new spouse,
Laughing in the face of those who so foolishly abandoned you.ย
Ariadne, half-sister of the minotaur,
You take the abused into your arms,
Those who are lost in labyrinths of their own,
And you guide them through with red thread,
Showing them the way to their salvation with your gentle, honey-sweet words.
O Ariadne, most fair, wife of the wild Dionysus,
You are a sight to behold,ย
And all mortals who feel your embrace are very blessed indeed;
Lead us through the dark, through our own paths of uncertainty,
Through the great and twisting maze we call life,
With your ball of thread and a kind heart.
Ariadne, I praise you,ย
O divine mortal who has reached Olympus!

Sketch "Ariadne and Dionysus in the form of a Leopard" (2025)
I was busy at the time I drew this, but I had to quickly sketch the idea down before I forgot.โ๏ธ๐ตโ๐ซ๐ฆ
I may or may not add Dionysus' retinue since I kind had the idea that Ariadne was exhausted from her ordeal, so Dionysus let's her sleep while he carries her off in a leopard form.

e-offering to Lord Hermes ๐
Great son of Zeus and Maia,
God of travelers, of luck, of guidance,
I ask for your protection during these next few days as I journey out of town,
I feel safer following you and appreciate all you do to keep my days going smoothly and my luck abundant,
thank you for your blessings,
I post this offering in your honor,
asking for any protection you can provide ๐๐ชฝ
Apollo Proupsius
(the foreseeing)
Pls don't tell me I am the only one who asociates Apollo with fortune telling
Great Ares, lord of the battlefield, I stand before you, faithful and true, In this moment of uncertainty and fear, I call upon your might to see me through.
With each breath, I summon your power, Filling my heart with the fire of your will, Guide me as I prepare for the fight, Equip me with courage, resolve, and skill.
Hear my call in this hour of need, Guide my steps with wisdom, and plant the seed. In the chaos of conflict, let clarity reign, Help me discern the path through the pain.
O Mighty Ares, guardian fierce and bold, In the shadows of battle, your courage unfolds. Shield us with strength, through trials we face, With your relentless spirit, grant us your grace.
When danger encircles, may your power ignite, Guide our hands, and bless our fight. With your sword held high, let fear take flight, Wrap us in valor, O God of Might.
With the fires of passion, direct my intent, Teach me to wield both strength and consent. Show me the balance of fury and peace, In your presence, may my fears cease.
In your honor, I vow to be brave, With your eternal strength, my path I will find. So mote it be.
From Prayers To Lord Ares by Dawn Silver
I will tell of Dionysus, the son of glorious Semele, how he appeared on a jutting headland by the shore of the fruitless sea, seeming like a stripling in the first flush of manhood: his rich, dark hair was waving about him, and on his strong shoulders he wore a purple robe.
Homeric hymn to Dionysus.
Hermes Charidotes
"The Giver of Joy." An epithet for Hermes Kharidรณhtis.
Dionysus Eriounios
"The Giver of Good Fortune."
I find it so beautiful and comforting that the Gods are literally everywhere. It makes mundane life feel magical.
Hestia is in the warmth of my morning cuppa and the aroma of our evening meals.
Apollon is in the sunrise and sunset (whether hidden by the clouds or not), and in the sudden rush of writing inspiration I get at the most inconvenient moments.
Dionysus is in the sweet glass of wine I share at the end of a long day and in the small comforts that make 'off' days manageable.
Even the Gods I'm not devoted to. I see them everywhere.
Zeus and Poseidon are in the smell of much-needed rain after a period of heat, and the spectacular storms that bring me so much joy.
Aphrodite is in the mirror when I look at my reflection and think - for once - maybe I don't look so bad.
Hera and Eros are in the gentle kisses and sleepily whispered 'I love you's' shared each day with my girlfriend...the constant thought that one day, this incredible woman will be my wife.
Athena is in the determination I feel when working on my postgrad assignments, and when I submit something I'm actually proud of.
Hypnos is in the refreshing feeling of a good night's sleep.
Artemis and Selene are in the glow of the moon when the skies go dark - the assurance that they are present even if they cannot be seen, for just like the sun, the moon always appears.
They're all there. A constant presence. A constant comfort. And they love me. They love us.

When you step into sunlight, you honor Apollo. When you admire the moon, you honor Artemis. When you admire cloud shapes, you honor Hera. When you smell petrichor, you honor Zeus. When you laugh at a joke, you honor Hermes. When your body twitches to dance at a particularly upbeat music, you honor Dinoysus. When you enjoy the first bite of your breakfast, you honor Demeter. When you choose your peace over any conflict, you honor Athena. When you warm yourself up by sheltering yourself in blanket, you honor Hestia. When you listen to Ocean sounds, you honor Poseidon. When you smell flowers, you honor Persephone. When you admire the coolness of first day of Autumn, you honor Hades. When you wear your favourite jewellery, you honor Hephaestus. When you smile, you honor Aphrodite. When you exercise, you honor Ares. When you light a torch in a dark room, you honor Hekate.
Your body is a shrine to Gods, your being an act of devotion for them. You, by yourself, are enough for them.
Liz Toohey-Wiese, 2024.
"A sign installed in the largest wildfire burn Iโve ever seen, along the BC/YK border. Borrowing the aesthetics of BC Recreation Site signs, once again pointing to the overlaps of outdoor recreation, resource extraction, and the consequences of the climate crisis. Most recreation sites in BC exist along previously built logging and mining roads.
โForced into a great and difficult transformationโ was a line I heard in a lecture on Buddhist philosophy I was listening to on my drive up north. But it became another mantra I thought about while living in a place thatโs been utterly transformed by resource extraction over the past century, and as I thought about the burnt landscapes I drove through."
More here.
i canโt wait to have my own home where i can actually dedicate a space to my deities <3
