💖Happy birthday to meeee!!!💖
As a little present to myself, I’ve decided to do a little ‘Meet the Artist’ post!
Sometimes I think Rosy tries to soften or erase asshole pre-redemption Jake whenever we get precanon content of him. (Or maybe is too scared to?) It just feels weird seeing Hailey say she doesn’t hate Jake (in the elliot spin off), or having The princess and the songbook be from Hailey’s pov but still cutting to a scene of Jake feeling guilty. Hailey didn’t see that so why should we?
I honestly think it would’ve worked better without that one frame of him feeling bad we’ve already got scenes in s1 showing how Jake need of validation, fear of bullying etc etc.
It makes me worried about how Drew’s redemption (if he even gets one) would be handled. Will Rosy have the club minimise their feelings about Drew just to make redemption easier? Will he get some tragic sad-boy backstory that ends up justifying his actions instead of simply explaining why he behaves the way he does?
Because that already kind of happens with Jake more with the fandom than the series itself, but still a bit in the series too, especially in Episode 7 during the conversation between Hailey and Jake. Jake being bullied in the past sometimes gets treated as an excuse for his shitty behaviour rather than an explanation for it.
And then I start thinking, why would Drew even want to redeem himself? For Jake? I think it’s kind of a flaw if the only reason Drew ends up being cordial with the club is just because he wants Jake back as a friend. Will he still be controlling? does he even care that he’s been shitty to people since middle school, we don’t even see an ounce of remorse due to his apathy toward others that he cannot understand. And that’s assuming he’d even want Jake back in the first place.
Even if he did reconcile with Jake, I find it really hard to believe Hailey and Zander would ever forgive him, especially after he grabbed Hailey’s arm and constantly blamed her for things she didn’t even do. And then that gets me thinking about how much hate Hailey would probably get from the fandom if she doesn’t forgive Drew.
don’t get me started on henriam, I’d like to think that they have very different thoughts on the situation and don’t blindly follow drew the whole season. GUYS WAKE UP PLS PLS PLS.
So, in conclusion, I’m terrified for Season 2, I guess.
my og post was just gonna be about Jake but something possessed me 😮💨
Rosypenguins tries and fails to leave a comment and decides to reblog the whole post to expand on her thoughts PART THREE BABY!! (This is mostly going to be about the points made regarding Drew I am so sorry I have a one-track mind.)
As a hardcore Drew fans who has made several posts regarding a potential Drew redemption, I agree with literally everything here. Because as much as I do hope Drew is redeemed in S2, I really don’t want his actions to be excused or justified. Nor do I want him to be victimized in any sort of way. I don’t want a ‘reason’ for him to bully the club that attempts to justify several years of abuse. Drew is simply a bad person. And that’s what makes his character interesting to me. He’s selfish, mean, and arrogant. But he’s not evil, either. He’s 16. His current characterization isn’t beyond redemption, and I’d even argue that him being such an asshole now would make a redemption all the more rewarding.
But if he’s suddenly given a victim narrative that tries to justify all the hurt he’s caused others, then that’s just… Jake. But again. That’s not even Drew anymore. That’s fandom Drew. That’s the UWU soft-boy amalgamation the fandom created. And I’m scared of him.
I don’t want Rosyclozy to try and soften Drew or make him more sympathetic. If anything, I want him to get worse. So much worse. You were right; at the moment Drew has no reason to get better, so he’s not going to get better immediately. That’s normal. His redemption doesn’t have to be immediate, in fact I’d prefer if it wasn’t, because for Drew to be redeemed, he’d have to realize that what he’s done is wrong, and WHY it was wrong. And then he’d need the motivation to change. Which honestly, I can only see happening once he reaches absolute rock bottom and no sooner. Because Drew’s a stubborn little shit who needs to be right about everything.
And I don’t want Drew to be forgiven by the club. He can be forgiven by Jake, and by his friends, but not the club. NEVER the club. Because the club has no reason to, nor owes him anything. And that’s OKAY. Forgiveness isn’t what determines redemption. It’s the character. It’s the change they make to themselves to better themselves and others. Drew doesn’t need to be soften or watered-down to receive redemption. Anyone who understands and appreciates Drew’s character will like him regardless.
TLDR: While I believe a Drew redemption is entirely possible, I too worry about his character being softened or watered-down for the sake of it, nor do I want his redemption to come from forgiveness. While I’m hopeful Rosyclozy will write his redemption in a way that feels natural and in-line with his character, if she somehow drops the ball I’ll go back to my 200 pages worth of Drew fanfiction and rewrite his redemption myself lol.
If I had a nickel for every time I got emotionally attached to a fictional antagonist from a web-series with a fragile ego, an inability to understand others and communicate effectively and potential abandonment issues, who plays the role of a ringmaster in their respective groups and self-sabotages to their own demise I’d have-
Two nickels? Huh, that’s funny. Anyways, here’s Drew as Caine or something.
I know their similarities are really only surface level. I mean, Drew’s an angsty teenager who’s purposefully being malicious while Caine’s an existential AI failing at his supposed purpose and unintentionally psychologically torturing those he’s trying to entertain. But I don’t care. I just wanted to draw this.
What are your hcs for Drew’s parents?
There’s a lot. I’ve made a post about my headcanons for Drew’s backstory here where I focus more on Drew’s perspective, but in this post I will be purely about his parents and how their actions affected him.
DISCLAIMER: Many of these headcanons are my attempt at explaining Drew’s behavior throughout the series. I am not justifying anything. Bullying is bad no matter what his circumstances are.
CW: Mentions of child abuse.

🖤 We all know Drew’s parents are loaded. So I like to imagine they have some upper-management position at some multi-million dollar company. I’d say they work different branches of the same company, but have relatively equal power. (So that their relationship doesn’t become a legality issue.) Their positions have them either working long hours or traveling constantly, so Drew only ever sees them at night, if at all.
🖤When Drew was younger, his parents often left him in the care of nannies. But I don’t think Drew ever really understood why. He didn’t understand why his parent’s jobs were so much more important than him, and why he was always being left in the care of people he barely knew.
🖤Obviously, Drew came to understand this ‘why’ as he grew older, but I think a part of him internalized that belief of: “I’m not good enough, otherwise they would’ve made more time for me.” And I think this is why he’s always fanning his own ego; always bragging about his own possessions and putting others down. It’s a defense mechanism. A way of reassuring himself that he matters.
🖤I don’t really think Drew liked being raised by nannies much, nor did he want them getting close to him. I think he displaced a lot his frustration towards his parents onto his caretakers, which probably only landed him in trouble and made him even less keen on listening and behaving properly. (At least until his parents had this behavior… ‘corrected’.)
🖤But as Drew got older and learned to care for himself, his parents just gave him a credit card and left him to his own devices.
🖤When Drew’s parents were around, I imagine they were pretty strict and held him to high expectations. They wanted him to be someone capable of assuming the roles they held; someone successful. This meant someone who was intelligent, respectful and responsible.
🖤Drew is not (emotionally) intelligent, nor respectful, and he avoids (emotional) responsibility. I believe the way Drew acts TMF is drastically different from how he’d act around his parents. I imagine he’d be a lot more quiet and subdued; nodding along to whatever his parents said. Because Drew doesn’t have control here like he does at school. He can’t just bully his parents around like be can his classmates.
🖤That said, I do imagine arguments are frequent when they’re around. It’s just… something that happens. Drew makes some snide remark, and his parents shut down. Drew knows he should bite his tongue at this point but a scathing rebuttal has already slipped out. Now he’s getting yet another lecture about how it’s rude to talk back, and suddenly a shouting match is occurring at the dinner table, despite this being the one night a week they actually get to see each other. His parents are yelling over him, and he’s once again being guilt-tripped over how ungrateful he is for everything they do for him. He’s halfway to his room before his parents can even shout the order, wondering why he ever missed them in the first place.
🖤 (If it wasn’t obvious, I think Drew’s short temper is something that just runs in the family.)
🖤 It’s been confirmed by Rosy that Drew has a toxic masculinity mindset, and I imagine this also stems from how his parents raised him. Being alone for most of his life meant he never learned how to properly express and regulate his emotions, and his parents never helped him in this regard. Disruptive or ‘unpleasant’ emotions were either ignored or punished, depending on how they presented themselves. He was always treated as weak for showing emotions; was told to ‘act like a man’ more times than he can count. And this resulted in Drew bottling up his emotions and refusing to even acknowledge them.
🖤Punishments were never physical, nor anything that would harm his physical well-being. I imagine it was mostly verbal. Lots of yelling, guilt-tripping, berating, and with even some threats of taking away things he cared for.
🖤His parents were the ones that pushed him to take honors classes, claiming it would better his future. And I think Drew asking to step down from them to be with his friends either in Sophomore or Junior year probably resulted in one of the biggest arguments he ever had with them. He came dangerously close to calling Jake that night, desperate to hear his voice as he struggled to keep his tears at bay.
🖤He still doesn’t really know how he won the argument.
🖤Drew’s parents don’t know anything about his school life. They look at his grades and any reports they receive from his teachers, but they never ask him directly. So they’re none the wiser to all the bullying he does. (And even if they did ask, Drew wouldn’t tell them anything.)
🖤Other than reinforcing their own values, I don’t really think they actually talk to Drew much. They don’t really care to ask him about his day, or what he gets up to. They’ll buy him whatever he asks for, but they never ask about why he even wants it in the first place.
🖤The fact his parents buy him things is the only way Drew can recognize they even care about him. And this is why he’s always buying things for his friends: to show he cares.
🖤This is all speculation, but I think Drew’s parents always being absent affected him in a lot of ways. I like to think Drew’s possessive behavior stems from attachment and abandonment issues, which developed because his parents were always absent. I think he’s horrible at expressing empathy and understanding others because he was never taught how to. He’s constantly bragging about himself and inflating his own ego because of how small and fragile it truly is due to a lack of love and reassurance. And he bullies others to gain the level of control he lacks at home.
🖤With everything said, I don’t think he outright hates his parents. I think he wants to, but it’s a lot messier than that. He’s certainly bitter towards them, but… they’re still his parents. They buy him anything he asks for. They give him a roof over his head. They’re just… never home.
🖤He despises talking about his parents. Especially when people bring up how lucky he must feel, having rich parents who let him do whatever he wants. He finds himself clamming up a little, his mind drifting back to all those nights spent alone after a hard day, just wishing he could have someone to turn to for everything. (But even if he did have someone, he’d never actually open up to them. Opening up and admitting to your feelings is a sign of weakness. And Drew’s been scolded enough times to know he’s never allowed to show weakness.)
TDLR: I think Drew’s parents are the reason he’s so incredibly messed up. And I want to beat them with hammers even though we know nothing about them.
What do you think about the hc of Drew having siblings, i hc that he has an eldest sis, an older bro and a younger sis
Honestly, I’ve always seen him as an only-child. I personally feel that if Drew had siblings, he would act a bit differently than he does in the show. Drew’s shown to be very selfish and not the most considerate of how others feel, which I’ve always believed to be the result of child neglect and isolation. However, depending on family dynamics, these traits could also very well come from a rather toxic or competitive family, or even something else entirely, so anything’s fair game.
Although I don’t personally headcanon Drew having siblings, I think the concept’s really fun! Either very wholesome or incredibly angsty depending on the dynamics you decide to play with. And I love the idea of Drew being an older brother. Could see him being a tough-love sort. He’d be the type to help his little sibling with math homework thanks to all those honors classes lol.
Speed-ran these doodles
OMGMGMGMGMGMGGMGMG WE HAVE THEM ALL ROSY HAS RELEASED THEM ALL IM GOING FUCKING FERAL.
DUDE IM SO FUCKING OBSESSED WITH THE DROMIES AND I HAVE BEEN STARVED AND WAITING SO PATIENTLY AND THEY’RE FINALLY HERE AAAHAAHAHAHAHHAH AND THEY LOOK AMAZING✨✨✨
Also like am I insane or is his hair messier now? Like it looks messier; there’s more strands poking out and his bangs are a little more flared. Whatever the canon reason is for this (likely just for aesthetics) I am ABSOLUTELY using this to fuel my ‘Drew has given up on himself and everything around him’ headcanon. (I was REALLY hoping for eye-bags in his S2 design but I’ll HAPPILY take fluffier messier hair thank you RosyClozy🙏)
Holy shit they’re so diva hello???
As much as I talk about Drew having a one-sided crush on Jake here, I actually really hope nothing like this is confirmed in S2. Something I’ve always loved about this show that it allows for the audience to make their own interpretations regarding the characters. While I personally interpret Drew’s actions through a romantic lens, I believe a platonic interpretation is equally viable. There’s value to be found in both beliefs, and to confirm one would almost undermine the value of the other.
It doesn’t matter whether Drew’s actions are driven by platonic or romantic feelings. It is undeniable he cares, and that’s all that matters. There doesn’t need to be a label on it.
However, I’ll be DAMNED if Drew isn’t at least HARD YEARNING for Jake in S2, either in a platonic or romantic way.
💙🌌💜
This is actually a redraw of an older post I made probably over a year ago now. I meant to finish this drawing months ago, but I hate drawing anatomy so I gave up for a while. And I’m actually a little glad I did, because I like to think my drawing process has improved quite a bit as of recent, and I’m very happy with this final drawing, especially when compared to the original. While I still see things I need to practice more, I can also see the improvement I’ve made, which feels amazing.
Here’s a direct comparison!
Happy New Year! To the few it may concern, I’d like to take a minute and talk about life, and my plans going forward into 2026 with this blog.
To keep this brief, I most likely will not be posting nearly as much TMF content as I used to back in 2024. This past year has been quite busy for me, and I’ve been working on a project quite special to me. I was hoping I’d be able to balance this with TMF art, but as you can assume from my lack of posts, I wasn’t exactly able to do that. I will likely return to my TMF posting when S2 comes out, but due to this project, I may not be as active here. Let me clarify that I will NOT be leaving TMF, I love this series far too much. But I will be less active on here going forward.
My full attention has been put towards this special project of mine. And I was hoping to end the year bearing the fruits of my labor, but I still have quite a bit of work to do before I can start sharing anything online. Although it isn’t anything TMF-related, I do hope you’ll be willing to check it out when it’s ready.
i dont know whether if this is an insult or not but your blonde guy zoomed out looked like nagito komaeda
I assume you’re referring to Jake here.
Honestly, fair comparison. I’m physically incapable of drawing anything less than a massive floof for hair lol.
Happy Halloween everyone! Behold, a two-paged TMF comic based on my AU.
This is one of my first couple attempts at a comic. It’s far from perfect, but I had a fun time making it regardless. In the future, when I… I mean, IF I make another comic, what are some things you think I could improve on? Constructive criticism would be much appreciated!
🦇
One of my best friends is obsessed with Drew somehow being TMF’s batman, so decided to draw it. Decided to test out a different lineart style here too.
Alt Version:
Say what you will about how the animation has improved over the course of TMF's first season, but I don't think enough people talk about how good the voice acting is in TMF.
I've seen a lot of YouTube animated series, and the voice acting quality of TMF, especially considering it was Rosy's first voice-acted project, is honestly insane.
The first time I was ever exposed to TMF was someone making fun of how melodramatic the Drake-Up was, funnily enough. And sure, maybe it seems a bit silly on the surface, but after watching the whole series? I think you can't deny that Drew's voice actor fucking SELLS it. You can just hear his anger and contempt, it's so good.
I feel like the voice acting has always been elevating the source material, and it's really telling how even once the show looks like it could genuinely be a TV show on Disney Channel or Netflix, the voice acting never starts to feel out of place. Because it's just that good. The animation gets up to the voice acting's level, not the other way around, unlike most other independent YouTube shows I've watched (so mainly Total Drama-inspired series, haha).
So far I've only mentioned Drew's, but I'd argue basically every one of the voice actors is pretty damn good. I couldn't even imagine characters like Milly, Henry, and Zoey without the voices they have, because they just encapsulate their characters so perfectly. And even the ones that just started out passable end off the series sounding great. In my opinion, Liam was probably one of few characters whose lines sounded kind of stilted to me in the first few episodes, but by the end of the series, his voice actor gives some of my favorite line deliveries of the season.
I don't keep up with any voice actor drama, if there is any, but I feel like they should all get more props for doing such a great job!
Once again a post I tried to comment on but simply could not be normal about.
THE VOICE ACTING IN THIS SHOW EATS IT’S SO GOOD!!
And yes yes yes Drew’s VA’s absolutely DEVOURED those line, his performance made that scene feel so goddamn real and painful it was phenomenal I will never shut up about how well-done the voice-acting was in that scene.
And while we’re on the topic of hyping up VA’s, I REALLY want to draw attention to a scene I don’t feel gets nearly enough credit, and that’s this scene in Episode 10 where Zander yells at Jake after the whole recording fiasco. And I just want to say: Zander’s VA Robert ATE this scene. (I highly encourage going back and watching it because Robert’s delivery is so GOOD.)
Like, the slight waver in his yelling, and the way his voice softens so much that you can just barely hear him. Like this man is on the verge of tears over Jake’s betrayal and you CAN HEAR IT IN HIS VOICE ITS SO GOOD.
And overall, after having rewatched TMF in its entirety with my friends, I’ve noticed that along with the animation quality, the voice acting improved quite a bit. While it was already really good in the beginning, as the series progressed the voice got more consistent, and at least to me sounded a bit more natural. Not to mention all the angst scenes the later episodes gave us that really allowed the VA’s to shine. I’m so glad people are talking about the VA’s because for a silly little Gacha series on YT they’re giving it their all and doing absolutely incredible.
