I think Larry Talbot should retain a scar from every time he "dies", like the scar on his forehead in Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man from where his father beat him to death in the previous film. Scars from people's attempts to kill him, as well as his suicide attempts, staying on his body as an eternal reminder of his immortality and curse.
I have become utterly consumed with Lawrence Talbot/the Wolf Man and I think his character arc across the movies is fantastic and the best executed one of them all, however I have one (1) note for how it could've been perfect had they actually pre-planned things and maybe even had they given him standalone sequels, rather than crossovers.

before the finale
"It will be alright, he will find a way," Maleva said, stretching out her hands to him. He lifted his head and reached out for her hands but instead of a comforting gesture he saw the greatest horror he could imagine: In her palm shone the pentagram, beckoning to the wolf inside him.
"No!" he exclaimed and grabbed her hands, studying them as if he hoped it had only been a trick of the light, but only seeing the horrible mark get blurry through his tears. "No..." he sobbed and dropped his head into her hands.
"I see," she said in a soft but firm tone.
"You have to leave. Right now," he said.
"I understand."
"Oh, Maleva... Get as far away from me as you can, please. Promise you will never see me again."
Finally, her eyes welled over with tears as well.
"I promise, my son," she said, her voice finally breaking. She placed a final kiss on the top of his head, now buried in his own hands, and rushed from the castle.

Just before the moon becomes visible, in those final seconds where the line between Lawrence Talbot and the wolf man becomes blurred, he can feel the pull. Like a compass needle jumping feverishly to find north, he can feel the wolf pulling toward Maleva. He can tell she is too far, out of reach, but the wolf pulls in her direction nontheless, trying to reach the pentagram that marks her like a racehorse pulling to the finish line. He cannot remember exactly what the wolf does under the moonlight, but he knows that each of those nights he chases her, as if he could run across a continent to find release from this pull in killing her.
Sometimes he feels like not letting the wolf have what this evil destiny has declared his affects his human form as well. He feels sick, weak, and hopeless. Moreso than he already did. He tried many times to put an end to this curse, but it was stronger than all his attempts. After all, the silver bullet that could end his misery must be shot by someone who loves him. He had no power to end the curse himself.

For the first time in what felt to him like eternity, he saw the full moon. He saw it and it was beautiful. It felt to him like the rays of the sun do to a prisoner who had been kept in a dungeon for decades. He felt the weight fall off his shoulders, felt the relief wash over him. Out of the corner of his eye, down the path of the garden that lead to the street, he spotted movement and turned, almost frightened, as if it could be the wolf stalking him, waiting to pounce and devour him once more. It was not the wolf, and a smile finally spread across his face as he realised what he saw, illuminated by the moon's cool light.
"Maleva!"
Her hands, outstreched to him, were free from any marks, beckoning him, Lawrence, the human he finally was once more. They closed the gap between them and he enveloped her in a hug. Tears flowed down both their faces and they felt they were safe at last.
"My son..." she murmured, her face buried in his chest.
