Kallithea, Calle Menelaou Otoño hermoso en las montañas, pero yo recuerdo nuestra casa manando de los matorrales, continuando ahora su vida sin nosotros. Curioso, porque se nos parecía, como si fuera hija nuestra y me hablaba con tu misma voz cuando reposabas la cabeza en mi pecho. Crujía el techo, recuerdo, y desde los bordes de los ojos me corre sangre negra que dibuja, otra vez delante, nuestra casa con las terrazas, los setos de cáñamo y las plantas. Barco sin timón en manos del viento y de tu imperceptible tristeza, grande como las noches invernales en las que enterrabas tu rostro en la almohada blanca y yo callaba, y el bosque en la orilla de enfrente se quemaba y yo lloraba. Alrededor el lago extenso, en su inmovilidad remamos años. Un día descubrimos una isla nueva, volvimos la espalda a nuestra casa. La veo ahora en sueños que con frecuencia e insistentemente me pregunta, todo anhelo, si puede mudarse con nosotros. ¿Cómo explicarle que hemos cambiado?; tiene un carácter indomable, caerá para aplastarnos.
