winona nichols was absolutely s m a s h e d. she’d forgotten how to do more than pour refills and that was what she all she kept doing for herself and rowan with an almost scary accuracy, her head of brown curls falling upon the other girl’s shoulder. her wine glass tilted precariously, saved only by the grasp that winona kept upon it with lazy fingers as she opened her mouth to speak once more. 

‘ you’re so nosy, ‘ she tapped her friend’s thigh harshly, a reprimand in itself. but her words lacked any of their usual harshness. ‘ but i’ve decided that i’m going to tell you the truth, rowan carter. people only see the surface because i WANT them too. isn’t that obvious ?? ‘ she paused and her perfectly arched eyebrows furrowed. ‘ well, obviously, it is. ‘ a moment ticked by. ‘ – not what i meant. ‘ another moment ticked by as she looked for the right words to say.

❛ Oh, yeah -- of course. The one good thing about tourist season is that all the cafes and shops go the extra mile to please their customers, then everything goes to shit. Like three blocks down from the Sandbox there's the Beanery which is always good and I can also promise you a good cup of coffee at the diner I work at. ❜
