It's been a busy year, so the prompts were a bit later and so is the week (hoping these dates still work for most people)!

Once again, anything is welcome (art, writing, podfics, etc.), and you don't need to make something for every day, just do as much as you want/can! Feel free to combine prompts from each day, or just use one. Please use the tag #royedweek2026, and the ao3 collection is here:

RoyEd Week 2026 (May 17th-May 23rd)

We’re throwing our own RoyEd week this year and we’re keeping the formatting the same as previous versions of the event, just moving our event to May.

But worry not! @royedweek2023 will also be hosting their own event so there’s plenty of opportunity to participate!

As always, any type of creation is welcome (art, fic, podfic, song, etc) and how you participate is entirely up to you! Combine prompts, skip a day or three, create multiple things per day— the choice is yours! All we ask is that you have fun and don’t use gen-AI in your creations. 💕

Chapter 6: The Axe Remembers

Summary: The first hour or so of the demonstration is boring. They park themselves around the naval base, a respectful few paces from the fence. Cadets and soldiers eye them from the other side of the barrier and law enforcement skulks at the edges of the crowd. Ed is wandering around with a ‘press’ sign strung to his front and slapped on his backpack, further back so he can take in the whole scene. The protesters clump together, unfocused and unclear in their intent, carrying their banners and chanting slogans so overused and tired that Ed blocks them out by default.

There are, however, a lot of them.

Chapter 5: Nobody’s Listening

Summary: Two missions later, Ed is woken in the early morning by someone banging on their door.

He’s up and reaching for a blaster before he’s fully conscious. He throws his door open, Al seconds behind him as they both spill into the living room. Ed grabs his brother by the shoulder and they both stop, listening to the pattern being rapped out on metal.

Ed swings himself up off the nice—yet entirely personality-less—couch once he accepts the call.

“Edward,” Roy greets him, his voice nestled in Ed’s ear. “I heard the party went well.”

“We all got disgustingly drunk, you mean,” Ed reaches out to close the book and puts it, gently, back on the coffee table.

Chapter one: Welcome to the Rebellion

Summary: He has nightmares about his own death, sometimes. It’s never about the moment itself, the final sizzling heat of a blaster bolt or overwhelming, crushing pain. It’s about Al—sitting alone in one of his tiny little apartments that only contain the personal items Al can’t dare leave behind—waiting for his return. His slow realisation that Ed isn’t coming back. Roy or Riza coming to deliver the news. Absently, Ed has spent a lot of time wondering whether Roy will be able to face his brother the day he learns that Ed has died for his cause. Roy’s probably thought about it, too.

Or: Roy and Ed are Rebels in a harsh galaxy. This makes some things harder than they should be.
