She
It’s the littlest details that kept him coming back. The little voice that kept meandering to her head, telling her not to give up. “It will be alright, in time”, it whispered. It will be alright. Just that, it won’t work in her time. It will only work in His time. It took a little while for her to realize that she was doing it all wrong. She chose optimism and patience, but it was fuelled by the wrong intentions, the wrong belief: the belief to change things she could never have control in. She struggled, fumbled, gave up and let go. She fell hard. She sees now that it was a lesson she needed to re-learn, a timely reminder that puts her into place. “If you trust Allah, then why do you worry?”, she constantly asked herself. Because she’s only but a humble Servant, and also, because she always forgets. She’s a fallible being. But, trust her when she says she’s learning. She’s learning now to hold on to the rope of the Deen, as tightly as she can, to still choose optimism, and back it with actions, to be patient and let things happen in His time. And this time round, she’s doing it rightfully, for Him – the Owner of Hearts, the Turner of Hearts, the Restorer, the Repairer. The Only One. She’s leaving her Heart to Him.
