Overlooked is the 45th Pentagram Paper, the self-published series shining a spotlight on quirky or vernacular design, produced by design studio Pentagram. In it, London partner Marina Willer wanted to “celebrate the gatekeepers” to the subterranean world beneath London’s streets – the street or ‘manhole’ cover.

Happy Birthday David Bowie!
ROSE QUARTZ 13-1520 & SERENITY 15-3919 For the first time, the blending of two shades as the Pantone Colour of the Year 2016:
As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.
The prevalent combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity also challenges traditional perceptions of color association.
In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumer's increased comfort with using color as a form of expression, a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged and an open exchange of digital information that has opened our eyes to different approaches to color usage.
Braille Font by Joe Hill
I wanted to combine Braille and normal type together to save space on the wall. There is often a separate space next to the type for the braille to fit, but with this type, you can incorporate them together - saving space.

Solitaire Computer Game Playing Cards
Back in 1990, designer Susan Kare worked on the original pixel art for the on-screen cards for Microsoft’s beloved Windows 3.0 Solitaire game. She used an IBM PC, Microsoft Paint, and the typical 16 VGA color palette available at that time, which resulted in a very basic pattern and the classic card deck-inspired design.
For the game’s 25th anniversary, Areaware worked with Susan to release a real live card deck using her iconic design.
Alcoholic Architecture (created by Bompas & Parr) offers visitors an alternative alcoholic experience with “breathable cocktails” and a drinks list inspired by it’s location inside a former monastery at London’s Borough Market.
The Albert Clock
Designed to create a playful approach to solving mathematical equations and telling the time for kids.
Can’t decide if I love or hate this idea...

“Typography will always evolve according to its new environment or context... People are no longer typing sentences over a chat. Emojis are replacing texts so we need letters to be that much more robust and up to snuff with these dynamic icons."
