tim has realized the best approach is to not make a big deal out of it like dick does
Tim, age 14, hanging out with his civilian friends as their school day ends when he sees Dick coming to pick him up
Tim: Oh, shoot- Guys my brothers here, I gotta go
Ariana: Who is he?
Callie: You have a brother?
Tim: Yeah hes just coming up on his bike, there
Ives: THAT'S your brother?? Dude that bike is so fucking cool!!!
Tim: Yeah, hes also a gymnast, he can pull some pretty sick moves!
Callie: How did we not know you had a brother??
Ariana: Do you think he'd teach us gymnastics? My aunt always says i should try ballet, gymnastics pair well with it
Tim: Maybe! I'll talk to him. He's super chill tho, im sure he'd teach us. He's like cool, but chill
Callie: No, but really, weren't you an only child??
Tim: Okay, bye guys, see you tomorrow!
Dick: Oh were those your friends?
Tim: Yeah! They thought your bike was cool. Don't worry, i told them you're actually super lame :)
Dick:
Robins are much more similar to each other than they seem
* Dick had more conflicts than people remember.
Oh my god. Dick is one of those parents with the leash backpacks to keep their kids from pulling nonsense at the theme park.
Like tell me the difference.
IT’S A LEASH BACKPACK MAN. EVEN THE TONE OF WHAT DICK IS SAYING. The “What is wrong with you???” is so exasperated parent coded it’s incredible.
Wonder Woman: Batman, we could make good use of Nightwing with this. Would you call him?
Dick, who's filling in for Bruce as Batman: I'll call him
---
Hal: you've gained some muscles
Jason, dressed as Nightwing: I started working out
Hal: Damn. What's the routine cause I just saw you last week and you look completely different.
Jason: steroids
Dick, as batman: *chokes on coffee*
---
Superman: We might need someone who's good with guns, hm... Hey Nightwing you're in contact with redhood, right? Could you have him come?
Jason, as Nightwing: ... I don't see why not
---
Wonder woman: this security is an issue we need someone who can hack this system long enough for us to get pass
Superman: hey hood, any chance you can give red robin a call?
Tim, with 5 inches of padding, as redhood: on it
---
Hal: isn't robin usually with you all?
Flash: yeah we could use him with this one
Superman: Red Robin, would you call in Robin for us?
Damian, in red robin costume: he's dead
“Oh but why don’t white people ever get backlash for cosplaying anime characters like black and brown folk do?” Racism and also because they don’t view those characters as being Asian.
If a character has fair skin, blonde or blue eyes or something of that nature they will see them as white and nothing else. It doesn’t matter if the anime takes place in Japan or if the character has a Japanese name. If they can be perceived as white in any way that is how they will be perceived.
Which gives these people a sense of ownership and feel they have an authority over that the character in question because they view them as belonging to them.
And so when they cosplay a clearly Asian character it’s fine because they don’t see them as being Asian. But when a black or brown person does it, it “ruins” their little fantasy because they can no longer view that character as being white.
The only time you’ll see them recognise a character being Japanese is to erase other global majority folk from cosplaying or seeing themselves in them. Then suddenly it’s “X character isn’t black” but none of them will ever recon with the fact that character isn’t white either.
And obviously this goes without saying but Cosplay is for everyone but the thing is some people only apply that logic to themselves and harass and bully other people for trying to do the same.
Jon: To remember how many feet are in a mile, you just gotta use “five tomatoes”.
Jon: Five tomatoes sounds like five, two, eight, o and there are 5,280 feet in a mile.
Damian: To remember how many meters are in a kilometer you just remember “1,000” because the system of measurement in the rest of the world wasn’t invented by a drunk mathematician rolling dice.

random PSA, I know a lot of people use duckduckgo as a Google alternative search engine, but it always kind of annoyed me when I was using it because it felt like No Name Brand Google
I have switched to using Startpage.com and vastly prefer it. for one thing, instead of displaying an "AI summary" at the top of the search results (unless you turn it off, yes I know), it displays the first paragraph of the Wikipedia article, with link, whenever it finds one that's relevant.
also a waaayyyyy better sense of design than duckduckgo
also private, European based, least annoying search I've used lately (RIP old "don't be evil" Google)
Keeping a list of Google alternatives just in case…
i have one of those, scraped from multiple different rec posts:
Search Engines
Infinity Search is an alternative search engine with a special focus on privacy
DuckDuckGo is a popular search engine for those who value their privacy and are put off by the thought of their every query being tracked and logged. Uses bangs, ![site] for in-page search (sells your data to microsoft and draws from fucking bing)
WolframAlpha is a privately owned search engine that allows you to “compute expert-level answers using Wolfram’s breakthrough algorithms, knowledgebase, and AI technology.” A data search engine.
Boardreader is a search engine for forums and message boards. It allows you to search forums and then filter down results by date and language.
Based in France, Qwant is a privacy-based search engine that won’t record your searches or use your personal details for advertising. Uses “&” as a bang search.
Another privacy-based search engine is Search Encrypt, which uses local encryption to ensure that users’ identifiable information cannot be tracked. Metasearch across multiple engines.
Offering unbiased results from several sources, SearX is a metasearch engine that aims to present a free, decentralized view of the internet. Can be self-hosted.
Gibiru’s tagline is “Unfiltered private search” and that’s exactly what it offers. Requires AnonymoX Firefox add-on for privacy.
Disconnect allows you to conduct anonymous searches through a search engine of your choice.
Swisscows provides fully encrypted searches to protect your privacy and security. Built-in violence/porn filter cannot be overridden.
MetaGer offers “Privacy Protected Search & Find” through its anonymised search. A plugin will allow it to be made a default.
Gigablast is a private search engine that indexes millions of websites and servers real-time information without tracking your data, keeping you hidden from marketers and spammers. Variety of filtration and refinement options for searching.
Oscobo is a search engine that protects your privacy while you search the web. By not using any third-party tools or scripts, your data is protected from hacking and misuse. Has a Chrome extension to allow use in toolbar.
https://search.marginalia.nu/ an independent DIY search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and attempts to show you sites you perhaps weren't aware of in favor of the sort of sites you probably already knew existed. Use old-school searching rather than query-based for the best results.
https://www.mojeek.com/
https://wiby.me/ - It’s goal is to index as many personalized websites as possible, and NOT commercial sites.
https://4get.ca/ it works a lot like SearX, but honestly better. It doesn’t have its own index, but pulls from many others. I think it’s the best for research, since it allows you to search for answers from different indexes, is easy to configure, add free, and avoids censorship as much as it can.
https://www.searchenginemap.com/ for more on how search engines relate to each other.
https://yep.com/ is a crawler
https://www.etools.ch/ retrieves from Google, Mojeek, Bing, and Yandex, like Searx
https://www.dogpile.com/
https://searxng.org/ (next gen Searx)
https://luxxle.com/ - possibly conservative?
https://presearch.com/ - good for academic?
https://kagi.com/smallweb - free/randomised Kagi.
Other Searchers
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.

Hey, what’s Winnie the pooh’s favorite color?
Yellow
No it’s red because of his shirt
No, it’s yellow because he loves honey
You have no idea what you’re talking about
DID I FUCKING STUTTER?
Things heating up at the Winnie the Pooh fandom
@hellsite-hall-of-fame
the beauty of early 2000s shows is that they just... stuck to the bit. You watch this show to see a neurodiverent man solve crime with his best friend, you will get that for 8 seasons. We said this show would be about an ex-spy and his employer who built an AI and the people they save. They will do it even when they admit in the show it makes no sense because that's what you signed up for. Leverage commited so much that they got a modern version that still does the same thing instead of being 6 episode seasons about one big con.
I miss "filler" episodes, but they aren't filler because that's what you signed up for! that's why you watch the show! to see them do the thing you started watching the show for!
Kevin and Andrew going to see Jean and finding out Neil had also been there:
I know I've made that joke before but the Gyeol situation really can't be considered baby-trapping, Yoojin refuses to acknowledge that Hyunjae was involved at all even after the kid comes out a perfect clone of him. Hyunjae wishes paternity testing worked on Gyeol.
The one Yoojin actually baby trapped (on his deathbed!) is Song Taewon. And the whole "about to die" thing was very instrumental in getting that guy to agree to raising a lamb. Never back dow never what?!
I don’t think we as a fandom delve enough into the influence of the fact that Han Yoojin's brain literally has been crammed full of other people’s memories and trauma due to Final Thanks. Han Yoojin, how many random memories do you have?
What trivia and hobbies do you remember that you've never done? When you see people on the street, do you remember knowing them in another life? At your comrades funerals, do you look at guests and remember raising them and being raised by them, do you remember standing across from them at the altar, the way they like their coffee or their smile when they're truly happy? Do you have memories of looking at them and thinking, my parents, my partner, my child?
Han Yoojin, how do you remember where you begin and others end?
Somehow, I feel like the answer might be Han Yoohyun.
What if your little brother died for you. What if you were given a second chance. What if you got to go back and try again. What if you reached out to him before everything went wrong. What if you did everything right this time. What if you made yourself new and different and distanced yourself from the version of you that killed him (he hasn't been killed). What if your relationship is even better now than before he died (he didn't die). What if you threw away everything from your past (future) that could remind you of what happened (didn't happen) (he's alive).
What if the little brother who died for you was still dead (your brother is alive) (you never lost him). What if he was still out there (he's here) (in front of you). What if his body was growing cold somewhere all alone (he's warm) (he's alive) (you see him every day). What if this version, who you love exactly the same, isn't the one you lost (he's still your brother) (he's worried for you). What if you could never bring his body home (he doesn't understand) (he would die for you too).
this actually happened trust me
