Ruby swiftly turned to where James pointed out “Fuck! You are amazing!” she beamed and dived for her wand “Thank you so much James”

“No problem!” James beamed. “How’d you get it lost there anyway? Heads in the wrong place?”

"I have no idea. I was writing an essay and somehow managed to lose it. Honestly, I'd lose my own head of it wasn't attached" she laughed

  “ You ain’t idiot, Ruby. It totally happens from time to time.”

“It seems to happen to me all the time. I swear I’d lose my own head if it wasn’t attached”

“I am, Sav always says so” she shrugged. “I was right here going through notes and writing up an essay” she sighed. It was just Ruby’s luck to lose the most important item that a witch ever owns.

“ who is sav ? ” she questioned but then shook her head, realizing now is not the time for her curiosity. “ nevermind, we’ll start looking here then, okay ? ” her question was more of a statement; she already made up her mind and devised a plan. “ you take this side & i’ll take the other side of the room. ”

"Oh. Sav. Savannah’s my sister, she’s in Slytherin” she replied softly. Ruby nodded and pulled the curtain of her away from her face, looking down at the table “Okay”

“No worries.” James nodded, looking around as if he was doing quick inventory of the room when something caught his eye. “Hey, is that it?”

McKenzie clucked her tongue. “The only time I’d associate myself with that, would be if she proves herself to be extremely beneficial,” she stated. “So far, she is nothing of the sort and has managed to make people dislike her the moment she arrived.”

Ruby didn’t know how to take their tone. As much as she knew Savannah was a huge pain in the ass, she was still her sister. “I understand that you might not like her but please remember that she’s my sister. Could we move on from this topic please” she asked politely.

“Shhh” she laughed “Sav will kill us if she hears us saying that” Ruby smiled when her laughter had died down “You can’t add things to the cousin handbook, there’s rules and regulations...a lot of paperwork to fill out. It wouldn’t be surprised, she chases most people away. Everyone teases me, I don’t have any ammo on anyone”

“Oh, crap.” James took a quick look around, not seeing it. “Well, I’ll help you find it. Let’s tread along very carefully though, we wouldn’t want to accidentally step on it or something.”

Ruby nodded and started shifting through papers again, hoping it would be under the pile somewhere. “Thanks, I appreciate the help”

so sorry for taking over the dash! i’ve still got a few replies to do but i’m so tired and the flu is kicking my ass so i’m heading to bed and i’ll get the rest of the replies tomorrow <3

“ leave what ? ” her distracted voice spoke, but then thick brows furrowed as she turned her gaze up to the pacing girl - ruby, she recognized her - she seemed upset, which made priscilla worry slightly. “ hey, are you okay ? ” she wondered out loud, neck craned & book pushed aside.

“My wand. It was right next to me two seconds ago and now it’s not” she said as she frantically searched through her belongings “No, I’m not. Like who loses their wand? An idiot like me”

Marcus was walking up towards the boy’s dormitories when he heard the younger Greengrass’ statement. He fixated a smirk on his face as he turned to look at his housemate. “Fuck? Gladly.”

Ruby rolled her eyes at the boy taking the opportunity to throw his statement out there “Can you not. You’ve got two hands use one of those then” she replied without a thought and riffled through some more parchment and textbooks. Once Ruby registered what she said she stopped and let out a deep sigh “Shit, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that. I’m just annoyed i can’t find what I’m looking for”
