Hey, everyone, my name's Ruby Lucas. I'm a witch from Halloway Hall. I'm a student at Storybrooke Academy studying Care of Magical creatures. It's sort of my calling.

Victor held her gaze until he just couldn’t help himself any more, his fingers splaying to cup her face and his lips pressing sweetly against hers. “Well at least fixing each other seems to be something we both excell at,” he mumbled cheekily, giving her a gentle nip as he pulled away.

Ruby returned his kiss eagerly, and looked into his eyes when he broke away. "Very true. Just means we're meant to stick together." her words were punctuated by a huge yawn she hid behind her hand. She glanced at the window and noticed light beginning to peek through the blinds. "Sun's coming up." she remarked.

“You don’t owe me anything, my silly girl,” he snickered and trailed his fingertips over her cheek, “what kind of Healer would I be if I couldn’t fix something as simple as a broken wrist?” Victor found himself encircling her arm with his hand, pulling her wrist towards his face so he could pepper the smooth skin with quick pecks. The day she’d broken her wrist replayed through his mind quickly. Victor had gone to meet Ruby after her class, so he could walk her to the next one and when he didn’t immediately see her, he’d been more curious than worried originally. One of the other students said she’d been out still, as he’d passed them while looking for her. “I always seem to catch you, just at the right time,” he murmured offhandedly, remembering the clenching around his heart and the look on her face as he’d rounded a group of trees and had just barely glimpsed the top of her head over the hole from the displaced ground.

"It's not just the wrist, silly. You fix...me." her eyes met his with a soft kind of intensity, as if trying to pour her entire spectrum of emotion through a look and a handful of words. She remembered that day as clearly as he did. "You do always seem to appear just in time to fix me up." she mused, her expression softening into faint amusement. She remembered looking up at him as he approached, sitting on the ground and clutching the injured wrist with dirt and tears streaking her face, leaves clinging in her hair. But upon seeing him, she'd managed a smile. A weak, unconvincing one, but a smile all the same.

“Well that’s what couples are supposed to do,” he stretched out beside her, brushing his foot across the bottom of hers in a smooth caress. “We bring out the best in each other and fix what’s broken.” He toyed with a strand of her hair, wrapping and unwrapping it around the end of his finger. “Besides, if we’re talking about things we owe to each other, I owe my ability to function in public, entirely to you,” grinning playfully, he tugged the curl between his fingers and kissed the tip of her nose.

Ruby curled closer to him. "I owe you my life, because in case you've forgotten, you saved it. Not to mention fixing up my injuries time and time again." she held up the hand connected to the wrist she'd broken last semester in an incident involving a pack of Nifflers. The creatures themselves had not injured her, but the holes they had dug had led to Ruby falling and hurting herself when bracing the fall. Far from her finest moment. But Vic had come to her rescue and had her wrist fixed up within the hour. She ran her fingers lightly down the side of his torso.

The corners of his eyes began to tingle as she spoke and he squeezed his lashes together, turning his face into the palm of her hand. “What did I do to deserve to find you, my sweet wolf? It must have been something truly great, to find myself in the presence of someone so beautiful,” he wrapped his long fingers around her wrists and nuzzled against her warm skin, “both inside and out.”

"You're you, Vic. That's all you need to do to deserve the best." she whispered, knowing she still hadn't described just how incredible she thought he was. "And if I am what you want, then you damn well deserve me, because you've been there for me more times than I can count, and you make me a better person. I owe the best parts of me to you." she tugged him down gently and laid with him.

“I love that you tease me,” he insisted as he lowered himself beside her, draping an arm around her shoulders and pressing a kiss to her temple. “It makes me feel normal. For a long time after my mom died, people treated me like glass. Like any time they mentioned her or drew my attention to her, they thought I would break. Even my brother was like that. Some people are still like that. Now I have Lacey though, and we both know she doesn’t treat me gently,” he laughed, his breath fanning out against her hair. “And I have you,” he continued, “you’re a little more gentle about it. But… you teasing me, it lets me know that you think I’m strong.” He shook his head, drawing away slightly to glance her over and smoothly brushed a lock of hair off her cheek. “Aaaand what I’m saying probably makes no sense. I’m rambling.”

Ruby nodded. "I understand. Sometimes Granny treats me like a bomb that could go off any second. But you just treat me like...me. It's good to feel like someone is just seeing YOU, not your history." she chuckled at his remark about Lacey. "She certainly doesn't. I don't think she treats anyone gently. But she doesn't BS people, and that's good. She's very...real." she remarked. She admired the girl, but definitely didn't want to be on her bad side. "Victor, I don't think you're strong." she reached for him with both hands, cupping his cheeks gently. "I know you are. I've seen it. I see it in you every day. You're probably the strongest person I know." she pressed a finger lightly to his lips. "You're not rambling, you're making perfect sense. I treat you the way you treat me; like my lover, and my best friend. Because that's what you are. You're a person, a funny, smart, caring, amazing man. You have some memories that would have the power to break lesser people, but you let it make you better. You're not defined by your memories, you're just made stronger because of them."

Wrinkling his nose at the term, Victor pushed himself off the bed, dropping a quick kiss on top of Ruby’s head before drifting over to peruse one of Lacey’s bookshelves. “Should we invite the others?” Dragging his index finger down a few of the book’s spines carefully, he asked the question off-handedly, over his shoulder and seemingly uninterested in the answer. Particularly, he was curious as to whether they should ask Graham and Aurora to attend with them. Neither of them seemed like heavy duty party goer’s, off the bat, but hey, who knew?

“Awh, I thought you liked the little poofy stuck-up girl, Vic. Are you sure you really want to psychologically torture her with a big kids party? Seems to me she could barely handle our little group of misfits and almost-felons,” Lacey taunting sardonically, casually watching Victor handling her books. It wasn’t that she had to worry about how he handled them, he knew they were important to her and he was careful with books anyway, but she was still going to keep an eye on them.

“Might make some of them feel more welcome around here. Like Aurora,” she ignored Lacey’s commentary. “I get the feeling she doesn’t have many friends.” the thought made her a little sad. She didn’t mention Graham, but hoped maybe he’d come and cheer up a little. “And there’s this girl in another class of mine I think I’d like to invite, too.” she mumbled, more to herself than the others.

“You want to sleep in just my shirt?” He’d started talking before his brain had caught up fully and as soon as he realized what he said, he locked his jaw together. Ideas; she didn’t need them. Partially to keep from embarssing himself further… ‘Thank gods she finds my stupidity charming.’ And in part to keep him from letting his jaw hit the floor. Careful not to think too much about where his hands could be going as she lifted up the edge of his shirt, Victor wrapped his fingers around hers and pulled them away from the temptation she was teasing both of them with, drawing her hand up to press a kiss to her knuckles. Simple and sweet. That’s how he was going to get through this without completely disregarding what he’d said earlier. “Maybe we should get in bed, before you threaten to take off any more clothes,” he teased, nibbling on her skin, “you might get cold if you take off much else.”

Ruby hid her enjoyment of his nervousness."Well, I mean, if I'm wearing too much..." she blinked innocent eyes at him, knowing full well what effect she was having on him. When he took her hand and kissed it, she smiled and brushed her fingers along the line of his jaw. "You'd keep me warm." she murmured, slipping an arm around his waist. "But you're right..." she sat on the edge of her bed and tugged him down with her. "I hope it doesn't bother you that I tease so much."

“Might be a little tight on me, love. After all, my shoulders are a bit broader than yours.” He grinned cheekily in, what he hoped, was her general direction. Her laughter, though expected, still managed to surprise him, pulling his lips into a genuinely elated smile. Following the tug of her hand in his, he opened his eyes as soon as she gave him permission and the air in his lungs all left in one breath. She was an absolute vision. All legs and curves under his shirt, simply begging for his fingertips and lips a teeth and… Whoa.

He had to swallow and clear his throat a few times before he could find his voice to speak, and even still, he heard a slight tremor in his voice. “Ruby… is- ah… Is that how you’re going to sleep?”

"But I'm chestier than you, so maybe it'd even out." she shot back, still giggling. The look on his face when his eyes opened was perfect, and it took every ounce of her willpower not to crack up again. Like what you see, handsome? she thought. His stammered, trembling question made her want to smirk, but instead, she applied a look of wide-eyed innocence. "What, too much?" she hooked her thumb into the waist of her panties at her hip. "I mean, I could get rid of these, too..."

“I,” he started, looking over to Ruby with a petulant expression, “do not need a party to hang out with you two lovely ladies. But, seeing as Lacey has agreed, and you seem rather excited; it’s settled! Party this weekend.” Victor glanced back at Lacey, lifting a brow at Ruby’s suggestion.

“And exactly how much whore-couture is allowed at this party?” Lacey inquired after she fell back against the bed. She was quite enjoying the idea of the party now, if only because it’d give her a perfect chance to frustrate the hell out of Victor. Slightly less enjoyable because he could actually work some of that off with his girlfriend later, she supposed.

Ruby smiled at Vic, then returned her gaze to Lacey. "Typical college party, so I'm assuming...any and all." the term whore-couture gave her the tiniest flicker of doubt about letting the girl pick her outfit, but at the same time...why not?

“I might just have to let you keep it then,” snaking his hands under the smooth material of the shirt, he took a mere moment to flatten his palms against her stomach, until he heard her instructions. “Yes ma’am,” he was smiling at her tone as he pulled back, allowing his eyes to drift closed. His own curiousity begged him to try and peek, but he squeezed his lashes together, scrunching up his nose in what he was sure Ruby would find to be one of his more amusing facial expressions. Hopefully she’d laugh, because even as sappy as it made him sound, her laughter was one of the more beautiful sounds he’d ever found.

"I'd have to offer you one of mine in return." she said, half-teasing. She turned in his arms and wriggled out of her pajama pants, leaving her in nothing but his shirt and her underwear, exposing her long legs. She noticed his face and cracked up. "You are just the most ridiculous-" she shook her head, still laughing, and led him over to stand beside her bed. "Now you can open."

“I love you for a great many things, my sweet wolf,” he whispered, following closely on her heels through the door and pushing it shut behind him, smiling as the lock clicked home under his hand. He made short work of shucking off his bag and shoes by the door, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and toying with the hem of his shirt. “I’ve decided,” he practically purred, rubbing his chin across the line of her shoulder, a thoughtful expression coloring his features, “I’m particularly fond of seeing you in my shirt.”

Enjoying his warmth, she closed her eyes and breathed in the scent of him. She delighted in the thought that for a while after tonight, her sheets would continue to hold that smell, that comfort. She smiled. "I enjoy your shirt, too. It's comfy and it smells like you." An idea occurred to her and she grinned. "Close your eyes." she ordered.

“You’re incorrigible.” Weaving his free hand through her hair, he gave a soft tug on the strands, angling his mouth over hers to deepen their kiss. As with every time her lips met his, he found himself lost in the sensations everywhere their bodies made contact and it took him a moment to gather his sense about him enough to realize they were still standing in open door way. Unable to help himself, a laugh tumbled from his chest, into their kiss and he teasingly nipped at her lip before nudging her through the door. “I’m impatient to have you tangled up in bed with me,” he murmured, pulling the door shut silently behind them.

"And you love me for it." she replied, letting her mind go blank as her body enjoyed the waves of pleasure his touch elicited. His laugh startled her back into her brain and she, too, realized where they were and smiled. "Come on, then." she slipped her hand into his and led him to her room, quiet in case any early risers were around. She unlocked her door and pulled him inside.

“Parties aren’t really my thing, but I could be coerced,” he teased, reaching up and tugging gently on a piece of Ruby’s hair with a grin. “What about you, Lace? Think you could be up for a party?” Leaning up, Victor glanced at her, dragging himself up off the bed and resting his elbows on his knees.

“Why not? Sounds mildly more entertaining than anything I can think of to do this weekend,” Lacey replied, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

"Getting to come hang out with two gorgeous girls, all dolled up, and have fun isn't your thing?" Ruby teased. "You have a lot to learn." she stretched, remaining comfortably sprawled. Truthfully, parties made her a little nervous, but the reasoning behind it was very different from that of most people. "I'm thinking I might let Lacey pick my outfit for me, if she wants to." she remarked casually, knowing full well that Lacey picking her outfit might mean that she would likely be wearing less clothing than usual.

“Oh, you have more jokes?” He smiled and wiggled his fingers against her side, his long strides eating up the distance between the woods and her hall. “Is this like the bunny jokes you had at dinner awhile back? Because I still haven’t heard any of those either.” Once they made it to the door, he carefully set her down on her feet and pressed a kiss to her cheek, pulling the door open for her. “I know you could have walked, but you didn’t have shoes on…” He trailed off, looking a little sheepish.

"These are more of a...physical comedy persuasion." she told him with a wink, running the fingers of one hand down his chest. When he set her down, she held onto him for a bit anyway. His sheepish expression and gentle concern made her teasing smile melt into one that spoke of how touched she was by his sweetness. She didn't have a retort, but instead just kissed him again.

Victor’s head jerked towards Lacey, eyeing her incredulously. “So now you have the hearing of a bat, or you can read minds… Either way,” he waved one of his hands in a halfhearted gesture between them, “please refrain from turning me into anything. And I’ll refrain from touching you unnecessarily. So what happened?”

“When a mind goes along the same road every time you start the engine, it’s not hard to read,” Lacey replied with a sardonic smile. “And why don’t we find another subject. Or go get drunk.” she stated firmly, pushing herself up into a sitting position.

Seeing an opportunity to get on a topic more appealing to Lacey, Ruby took up the transition. "You know, on the subject of getting drunk, there's supposed to be some party this weekend in the next hall over. I got invited by this girl in my C.O.M.C class, and she said to bring anyone I'd like. Would that interest either of you?"

It took some major acting skills, but he managed to pull his lips into a semblance of a frown. “Well don’t pet my ego or anything. I mean, if I’m only pretty adorable, feel free to threaten me all you like.” He tightened his arms around her, stepping over the last fallen log between them and the short path back to the quad, sighing quietly with relief that he’d managed to make it all the way back through the woods without tripping or bumping into something. “Ooh, now that sounds like a promise,” he hummed his pleasure as he stepped onto the soft grass between two dorm halls.

"I could make all sorts of jokes about "petting" something else, but I'll refrain." she replied, smirking. "You know, I can walk, too. You've got to be getting tired of carrying me." She loosened her grip on him so she could pull back and look at his face. Her face broke into another smile. "Oh, it's a promise all right." her face glowed with happiness. "You could get me to promise you anything."

“Can’t… breathe…” He mock gasped, weaving slightly on his feet, but mindful of the trees around them; it would be just his luck to wind up looking like a spaz by running into one. “You wouldn’t threaten me, I’m too adorable to threaten!” Resting his cheek against her forehead as he walked, he didn’t try to fight the childlike urge welling up inside of him, turning his face quickly and pressing a kiss to her skin. “I made that for you,” he beamed with the silliness of false pride, smiling down at her.

"You ARE pretty adorable." she told him begrudgingly. "But that doesn't mean I won't bite you. She smiled and burrowed her face into his neck and shoulder area, her lips brushing the junction of the two. "It just means I'll make you like it." She snuggled into him.
