Goodbye, Constance.

According to the YouTuber Offhand Disney, in his latest video about the current state of the Haunted Mansions around the world, he explains that Constance in the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom will likely be replaced in about nine months, around early 2027, by Disneyland’s new bride (technically a new version of Constance), perhaps even an improved one.

I think it was fairly predictable.

I really like the idea of returning to the silent bride with the beating heart, but the problem is that she feels more mystical than genuinely frightening.

Her colors are very beautiful, but she looks almost like an apparition. Her dreamy, nearly empty gaze evokes sympathy rather than a true sense of menace. She feels like a CGI version of Disneyland’s 1995 middle bride.

It would be great if they could also place the Hatbox Ghost in the attic as well.

My first little Haunted Mansion drawing!

I decided to draw Emily from WDW in the 90s/2000s, the least loved and especially the least represented of all the attic brides.

She definitely deserves more fan art.

Bro I swear Disney Channel’s YouTube once had a very short trailer for a Haunted Mansion animated series or special that got canned and I can’t seem to find that little animation anywhere. It showed the hallway with the paintings that change when the lightning flashes while the opening narration is spoken by a little girl (“when hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls…whenever candlelights flicker, though the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight”) and then the little girl crawls out of a painting of a ship caught in a stormy sea and says something like “welcome to the haunted mansion. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride”.

The very First live apparition of Melanie Ravenswood. That was during a serie of concerts by french Disney ambassador at the time, Anne Meson, from Feb 26 to March 15 at L'Olympia (Paris). This concert was a promotion for the opening of Euro Disneyland and it mixed Anne's original songs with parts of the C'est Magique show, performed later in the park by the park's cast.
