grinding her teeth would have been considered less than ladylike in other times. as it stands right now, sanna fixates sooyoung with a stern gaze in the hopes of easing some of that youthful, almost naive enthusiasm with which she’s being met at present. you see, sooyoung’s fault is not that she’s buzzing with zeal but that she’s doing so around sanna.
while no stranger to the various shades of happiness, which to her includes excitement, she finds it strange to see someone else embrace that same endeavour with such openness, as though expecting no less from those surrounding her. the people she knows are usually guarded and careful to maintain whatever image they have been crafting for themselves and this is something she too, has grown used to over the years.
sooyoung’s presence could be considered a fresh breath of air in that regard and it makes sanna’s posture relax a little as she leans into the back of the seat, eyes softening a little while she continues to watch the other woman. she shouldn’t hold another’s feelings against her, despite her own rather imperious sentiments regarding the matter.
“my dear, has someone ever told you that you ask too much at once?” and she tries; to keep out the amusement that laces her tone, in spite of the furrowed brows and the slightly clenched jaw. sanna usually makes no excuses to be seen so easily but something in the younger makes her think a little less clearly; like being seen is no harmful thing at all.
“you are the embodiment of what bursting at the seams implies. do you think you could go a minute or two without talking?” there’s mischief now that spreads across her features, something to lure the younger into the trap she’s setting. sanna has yet to see if there’s a adventurous spirit within the younger but she should like to see; even if she has to endure all those inquiries into her personal life.
“i’ll tell you one thing, though,” she smiles now, fixating her gaze on the empty cup of hot chocolate again as though in the midst of a performance. “i’ll invite you to see what my job is. you might as well receive your own impression then.”
“mm, i don’t think so.” the cupid tilts her head quizzically to the side, bottom lit jutting out ever so slightly. “is it a bad thing?” she briefly wonders if she hasn’t quite gotten the hang of human speech patterns despite walking amongst them for quite some time. it was a wonder she hadn’t outed herself yet, though perhaps that was due to pure luck and nothing more.
“let me think about it.” sooyoung taps her head a few times in an attempt to mimic the way humans dramatically show off that their thinking forgetting that it’s actually their chin they usually tap. “nope! i like talking, how else will i get to know you, sanna?” a small giggle escapes her then as she meets eyes with the other, still hoping that in time she’d manage to convince the other to get her another cup of hot chocolate if she played along for a bit before asking again.
at the mention of the other’s job, sooyoung perks up even more, eyes wdening slightly. she’d been curious since the moment she met the other, and now she’d finally get a chance to answer at least one of her questions.
“ah, really? when can i come? do you go to work soon? is it far?” the words shoot out fast, her hands flailing around animatedly before she calms herself and lowers her tone just abov a whisper. “does it cost me money to attend?”
she laughs again, nudging her emoty glass towards the other.
“also, can i get another hot chocolate now?”
