Unpopular opinion but schizophrenic or not Louis is the bad guy.
For a second let’s forget about pedo rapist Magnus and Marius, may they burn in pain for eternity.
Whether it’s the book, movie or show, Louis truly deserves to get beat up in some alley.
He keeps blaming everyone but himself for his problems.
First I don’t give a shit that you need money to feed your family, being a slave owner or a pimp (slave owner under another name) will make sure you get a good seat in eternal damnation no matter who or what you pray to.
Lestat offers him eternal life, he accepts, blames Lestat for becoming a monster.
Begs Lestat for turning Claudia and then blames him and kill him despite his warning.
Even before he was plotting his murder with Claudia, he was cutting Lestat out of every conversation they had even when it wasn’t about him. Claudia was still a child for many years so he was supposed to be the one teaching her better, cause he forced her new vampire eternity on her and Lestat. And not telling her he’s the one who technically did it.
When Claudia comes home (in the show version) and Louis and Lestat have a domestic violence scene, I feel like Lestat asked him multiple times to stop the fight (Louis wasn’t jus getting beat up, he was beating Lestat too) and to not ask too many questions which he also explained he doesn’t know much and how he got transformed against his will (by rotten Magnus) which in the book happened when he was 21, like the guys can’t even read or write other than his name and God’s.
Letting Claudia accuse him or running all their lives and killing Nicki, he pretty much turned her against Lestat himself, when he keeps sabotaging everything, Lestat wants to travel and show you the world? Huh nah I’d rather stay here being a slave owner (and giving money to my homophobic family who hates me) and being miserable
Then fucking killing Lestat with Claudia but acting like you didn’t do anything and letting the KID kill her dad alone.
Then in the show version, Armand respectfully courts him for a long time before they start a relationship and he opens up to him about his horrible past (in the book he was turned at 17 and show he was 27 so 10 more years of torture) and Louis great slave owner that he is, choosing to instead get deep in that trauma and "roleplay" (it’s not roleplay) the way Armand was a child sex trafficking victim for his whole human life. But nah let’s just have Armand call him master and in return call him by his slave name and have a weird bdsm relationship don’t matter if he doesn’t say yes as long as he doesn’t say no right? Same for trying to have him to transform Madeleine, the same way he coerced Lestat.
Ngl I don’t blame (the show version) Armand for Louis’s trial, I blame him for Madeleine’s death, for Claudia’s unjust treatment and trial. I blame him for putting the blame on Lestat who was clearly not well after surviving assassination, and might have been tortured like Louis, Claudia and Madeleine were, but nooo, he’s an evil evil man who deserves bad things. Louis is such a dumb shit for that, man deserves the 70 years of brain washing and don’t deserve Lestat’s forgiveness.
Then he fucking goes out and ask Daniel Molloy random 20 year old found on the street to write his story and Lestat doesn’t get to be mad about being pictured like that, as if he’s not grieving his daughter in some way, like hell yeah bro go get that band together you’ll be a star.
In the show he fucking breaks Armand’s back and leaves sick old man Daniel with him after he exposed the brainwash like dude you lucky Armand’s his beloved cause my boy Molloy would be more than dead. He also deserved to be cheated on by Armand with Daniel, he just didn’t deserved either of them.
See I will never erase all the things each character has done, but in all versions, Louis needs electro shock therapy and to get jumped in a back alley cause he’s a monster
