rufus étienne meeks; 22. 3/3. there is honestly not much to say about me. i write books about wizards and stuff. i know too many star wars movies by heart, and i'm quite far into finishing reading every book within the star wars legends universe. i'm also a big fan of lego... which my wallet really isn't. i have two siblings. i like nachos and salsa. i do think it's okay to put pineapple on pizza. especially if it's together with hot dogs. that's a real tasty pizza. come at me.

Maybe? I don’t know, I’m not a big fan of horror movies at all, is that weird? I rather watch something less scary, so I’ll look into those. I have to admit I’ve never watched Beetlejuice, which is a shame because I always have it on that mental pending list but I never remember to watch it.

Beetlejuice is a pretty classic Halloween movie without being very horror-y. If you are into Paranorman, you might like The Corpse Bride as well. But Beetlejuice is a good start. If you want a horror movie that is only “fairly” scary, The Poltergeist is a good classic.

What are you going to read? I hope you’re including some Edgar Allan Poe’s short stories and poems in your reading list this month, some of them can be intense. 

Of course. Halloween wouldn’t be the same without a few of his short stories. A few are admittedly re-reads, like Poe and Clive Barker, but I found a good mix of anything from dark fantasy to old school ghost stories. The supernatural aspect of it feels vital for Halloween.

I got a little too excited about Halloween at the library yesterday, and now I’m somehow going to finish at least ten books this month. I’m just going to be terrified for a month straight, but that’s fine. I think. I hope.

To the person that decided sitcom episodes should only be 20 minutes long is both a genius and a total a-hole. One minute you’re starting the very first episode, and then you blink, you’re midway through season six. It’s so much easier to binge a show, when you feel like you’re getting through it faster. Somebody needs to take me out. I’ve reached the status of a hermit.

October barely starter and I already have this need to watch movies and stuff to get in the mood for Halloween, I’m so ready for it. Besides The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Hocus Pocus, can someone give me some recommendations, preferably stuff I can watch alone and that isn’t too scary?

Isn’t that the point of October? I refuse to read anything that is not labeled horror or dark fantasy this month. But if you want something closer to Hocus Pocus, I’d recommend Paranorman or Beetlejuice.

I guess so. My brother lives in Nashville too, though, so she might just force him to take care of me. I’m not sure if I mostly hope she will, or that she won’t. Both come with pros and cons. Did you and your mom have fun, though?

I appreciate that usually, I’m not that closely involved in the part where patience is required. I can be patient waiting for something to finish cooking, but sushi rolls are so close. Maybe one day I could taste some of your... not lopsided rolls? Although, I guess the appearance will be the main difference from my own.... but I do have a feeling the taste might also be worth it. Mine always end up with either a lot of vinegar or very little vinegar.

WP: I will be in the shop tomorrow, a few deliveries in the morning but nothing else. Oh yes, and I have to take the dogs to school. How about yourself?

RM: Good to hear, that's exactly what I was hoping you'd say

RM: Your dogs go to school?

RM: What I was going to ask was if you wanted to try this new restaurant I found? I've been looking at their menu several times this week, but they don't do home delivery. So, my suggestion was that I pay for the food, and you pick it up. Then we'll eat it together, and hopefully enjoy it a whole lot?

To be honest, that’s the important part. I don’t think good mornings have ever included shots in any way. At least not in my experience.... and clearly not yours.

No, med school and casual seem to have their own separate contexts. It’s pretty cool though. There’s so much stuff to learn and remember when it comes to medical education. What kind of doctor are you studying to become?

They do! I have been looking to learn how to make sushi rolls since a few months back, but I can never make them roll properly like they do in the videos… It always end up lopsided!

My rolls always end up really... not good. But I think that’s more because I get impatient and very hungry while making them so I just want it done.

In my mom’s defense, I didn’t tell her until afterwards.

Saturday night and here I am cracking the text books again, although I do have the urge to check out Netflix here. This is the part of college life they don’t advertise, but it makes me glad I can see the light at the end of the tunnel coming up.

I wish I’d majored in something that came with text books I’d like to read casually. But maybe the whole ‘study’ thing is what truly ruins it? I don’t know.
