I’m all about my green smoothies; the slimier looking the better! I’ve grown to enjoy the odd looks I get whilst chugging down my 32oz jars of ‘pond scum’… little does everyone know, these nutrient-dense green concoctions are also freaking delicious. Don’t believe me? try it yourself! I wouldn’t lie to you :)
‘Super green’ smoothie recipe: (clever name, huh?)
4 cups of organic spinach
3 ripe red bananas
2 ripe yellow bananas
2 cups frozen pineapple
1 generous teaspoon of spirulina
enough water to blend
toasted flax seeds and sprouts for garnish (optional)
Directions
Combine spinach and water. Blend until smooth.
Add all bananas and blend until smooth, adding water as needed.
Add frozen pineapple & spirulina. blend smooth, add water if needed.
Pour in to a large glass jar or bottle, top with garnish.
Drink up! Get those digestive juices flowing by chewing periodically.
High in vitamins E, K, A and C, Potassium, Iron, Magneseum, Maganese, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Panthonic Acid and vitamin B6- this nutritious smoothie is like a healing wonder tonic for the cells. Restoring balance and repairing the body from the inside out.
I’ve never been happier or felt better than I have been the past month of eating my green sludge.

So, I just heard about this on facebook and I’m going to try this and see if it works:
For everyone who love green onion, this is one secret the grocery stores don’t want you to know. The next time you buy some green onion don’t throw away the root, just put it in some water and it will regrow. Do this with a few dozen and you will have an endless supply. Just keep cutting and regrowing. image via Naturally Ella

GO VEGAN! with Sarah Kramer
Hello lovely followers! I wanted to do my first text post and feature to promote a great person in the vegan community. Sarah Kramer “The World’s Coolest Vegan” by Herbivore Magazine is currently battling breast cancer and had to temporarily close her online vegan boutique that was featured on her blog at http://www.govegan.net/. I've purchased several things from her website and I've also purchased her GO VEGAN! App from the iTunes store which has many great vegan recipes and acts as a travelling cookbook. This is predominantly a raw blog, but I just wanted to share in case I had followers who were not fully raw and might find this app handy.

In my culture in Alaska we have a native dish called Agutak or Akutaq -- which basically translates to 'mixture' or "mixed things'. The traditional way to prepare it was with gathered berries, roots, greens, dried fish, seal oil and/or animal fat. Now, it's mostly made exclusively with berries, sugar and crisco. I like to rawify mine with a mashed banana, tundra berries, wild greens (or baby spinach) and stevia. -R&R
