Masculine/butch lesbians have gotten such a negative reputation over the years. It has take me a LONG time to be comfortable in my own skin as a masculine woman who has a submissive demeanor. I thought because I looked masculine on the exterior, EVERYTHING I did had to be masculine whether it was my behavior (always giving) all the way down to my penmanship (no loops or curves, always had to be sharp and angled). After a lot of reflection, I realized I didn’t have to be what I’m not. I could be ME - my true, authentic self. Yes, I have short hair and wear men’s suits. Yes, I prefer men’s shoes and cologne. Yes, I am a weightlifter and have masculine features. But, you know what else I am?
